This is my only article today, and I won’t be sending links messages on Care2. WWWendy went to the beach with a high school buddy, who is visiting family in Vancouver, WA, so she wont be coming until this evening. Also, it’s a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb, even though my Broncos don’t worship until Monday Night, when they visit the Chiefs. Finally, the news is dominated by contradicting accounts on whether and how much the Republican Reich is interfering with the FBI investigation of Pervert Kavanookie. I’ll wait until I actually know what’s going on. In any case, I’ll be up late this evening doing chores, so I’m resting today.

From Washington Post: Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts said Saturday that she plans to “take a hard look” at running for president in 2020 after the midterm elections in November, her most explicit acknowledgment yet of her national ambitions.
Warren made the statement in response to a question about a possible presidential run at a town hall event in Holyoke, Mass., and she explicitly put her deliberations in the context of the searing drama playing out in Washington around the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh.
“This week, I watched 11 men who were too chicken to ask a woman a single question. I watched as Brett Kavanaugh acted like he was entitled to that position and angry at anyone who would question him. I watched powerful men helping a powerful man make it to an even more powerful position. I watched that, and I thought: Time’s up,” she said, according to a video posted by Warren’s Senate campaign. “It’s time for women to go to Washington and fix our broken government, and that includes a woman at the top. So here’s what I promise: After Nov. 6, I will take a hard look at running for president."
That, I’d love to see. Go Liz! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

SNL – No, there isn’t anyone Kate can’t do, from Susan B Anthony to Rudy Giuliani! Although no one who isn’t a Republican can look as threatening and belligerent and downright ugly as the real Kavanaugh.
Reich – Republicans have been destroying public education for forty years now. That’s why civics is no longer taught. And THAT’s why young people don’t vote. Which doesn’t mean we can’t work at getting young people to vote, or that we won’t have success. But it’s why we need to.
WaPo – I honestly dont think Warren wants to be President. That doesn’t mean she won’t run, and if elected do a great job. She’s a genuine patriot. But it is a lot to ask of her. If she does run, it will be because she said to herself what Jane said to Bernie – “I think you have to.”

Robert Reich: He says it all and he says it well. It’s up to you now.
WP: Elizabeth Warren may well be the first person who’d run for American president out of duty and not ego. She’s got all the qualifications to make a good president, but her humility and her true care for and belief in the bottom 90% of Americans will make her an excellent one.
Rachell Mitchel (who questioned Dr. Ford for the Republican Judicial Committee about her allegations that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her) presented the Judicial Committee with her 5 page memo on her interogation of Dr. Ford. Basically saying, based on Dr. Ford’s testimony no prosecutor would bring charges against Kavanaugh. Citing inconsistencies and lack of information in Dr. Ford’s testimony. Mitchell did not claim Dr. Ford was lying, but that her information was not enough to make a case, or prove Kavanaugh’s denials are not truthful.
We will see what the FBI has to say soon.
I did not read Mitchell’s whole 5 page report, just a report about it by Saba Harmedy as posted on Huffington. I reprinted her report on my blog.
Also, there are new allegations of Kavanaugh being a “boozer” from his classmates at Yale. These are not leaks from the FBI investigation, just public statements from his classmates.

SNL — I really do wish SNL were available in Canada! I read that Matt Damon did an excellent job of portraying Kavanope. Sure looks that way from the picture.
Robert Reich — AMEN!!! JD adds to that idea — This year there are only two choices on the ballot — democracy and fascism! According to AlterNet, with the country being besieged by the Kavanope hearing, the House just handed the richest persons and corporations another $3 trillion in tax cuts. I wonder how much Diaper Don and his cronies will benefit from this!

It is raining like crazy here — we had a rain warning yesterday which did not disappoint in the rain volumes. I guess it is time to wash my coat for the coming rainy season.
