When Jeff Flake (R-AZ) announced he would vote to pass Pervert Kavanookie out of committee to the Senate floor, a pair of rape survivors confronted him in an elevator and harangued him about his hypocritical decision. That might have helped. He did cast a flaky vote, but he has left us a sliver of hope.
Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was approved Friday by the Senate Judiciary Committee on an 11-10 party-line vote, but the possibility of a reopened FBI investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against him gained surprising new life.
That’s because the nomination still needs to be voted on by the full Senate — and if and when that would take place remained up in the air.
That’s because Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., called for the full Senate vote to be delayed for one week to allow time for the FBI to reopen its background investigation into Kavanaugh amid multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
Flake voted in favor of Kavanaugh during the Judiciary Committee vote, but then suggested he may not vote for Kavanaugh on the Senate floor if the FBI investigation does not take place. He said the investigation should be short and limited in scope.
If Flake and one or two other Republican senators opposed moving the nomination to the Senate floor for a vote unless the FBI gets involved, that could stall or even doom Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, who has not indicated how she intends to vote on the nomination, also backs an FBI investigation.
The only way the investigation could be launched is if President Donald Trump orders the FBI to do so.
Trump, when asked about a possible delay in the full Senate vote, told reporters at the White House on Friday that he would defer to GOP senators…

Here’s a video report.
I understand that we will get the investigation. That probably means Bought Bitch Mitch (R-KY) could not get the votes without it.
That’s all I know.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Proud of those resistors who got to talk to Jeff Flake. Murkowski and Manchin (D-WV) are in support of an FBI investigation too.

Hard to know what is going to happen with Jeff Flake. The GOP group will not want to allow any kind of a delay. They want Kavanaugh in ASAP! regardless.
We still have a chance to keep Kava-nazi off the Supreme Court! Keep up the pressure on your Senators, and make sure all your progressive friends are ding the same. Make those phone calls daily, and send all the e-mails, tweets and post cars you can. This is a fight for the future of our country – and it’s a fight to the finish!
WOW!!!
That’s incredible!!
Hopefully, the investigation will bear fruit and Kavanaugh will be sent home.
So THAT’s what that closed meeting between Flake, Murkowski, Collins and Manchin was all about! I’d guess he’s counting on at least two and probably all three to stand with him on the investigation demand. He may get betrayed, but I don’t think he would have gone this far on the record if he wasn’t pretty sure.
RESIST AND PERSIST !!!
Drumpf has ordered the FBI to investigate, but not too thoroughly and not too long. Dr. Ford has already indicated that she was fine with the investigation, but that it should be allowed to run its course and should be allowed to take the time it needed. Much depends on how the White House defined the FBI investigation and how much room to manoeuvre it has. It wouldn’t surprise me the instructions are intended to set the investigation up to fail in order for the Republicans to be able to say that Kavanaugh’s name is cleared once and for all and have him sworn in by next Friday.
The news is mostly good. See today’s Open Thread.
