From Politico: Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said Sunday that she intends to serve “at least five more years,” a stretch that would extend her career beyond her 90th birthday.
“I’m now 85,” Ginsburg said on Sunday, according to CNN. “My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years.”
Ginsburg, nominated by former President Bill Clinton and confirmed to the Supreme Court in 1993, is already the court’s oldest justice and is also among its most liberal. Her future on the bench has been the subject of significant speculation since her departure during President Donald Trump’s term would afford him the opportunity to appoint a third Supreme Court justice, shifting the court’s balance of power for years, and potentially decades, to come.

I read about the police “visit” – I’m glad they’re doing this (and maybe everywhere should.)
SNL – I remember it. I can’t remember whether I laughed then, but I do know I’m crying now.
WALL – The only accurate thing from a Trump person was Rudy Ghouliani saying “He’s a pathological liar, a manipulator” – and even that wasn’t accurate because he didn’t mean Trump!
Politico – I was just getting ready to read the Daily Kos version of this story (which was picked up by AlterNet but I thought I’d go to Kos) when I realized how late it was. Yes. God bless her indeed. And her workouts, which both help a lot to keep her healthy and wise, and also demonstrate her discipline and commitment.

SNL: Great ad, short and to the point in a very humorous way. For me worth waiting through some loading cycles of a slow connection. But I bet it didn’t get a smile out of real Drumpf voters, if they watched it at all.
ABC: Democrats, please, please call Drumpf’s bluff. Let him make a fool of himself; use him shutting government down to your advantage, Democrats. Keep your feet at the ball, don’t let his tweets distract you from it. And by shutting government down, he’ll take a lot of Republicans down with him too, so call him out on it.
Politico: Kudos to you, Ruth Bader Ginsburg! Your mind is as sharp (and liberal) as ever, your spirit soars and unless your petite body gives out, you’ll make sure that some balance is left in SCOTUS in the next five years, no matter what Drumpf does. Stay strong, RBG, America needs you!

So this is how he negotiates . . . bullying, lying etc. Diaper Don can’t even control himself . . . what makes him think he can control others and events around him? His parents really failed their responsibilities in raising him the way they did!
Politico — I’ll bet Diaper Don is having hissy fits! He has already claimed that RBG has a feeble mind and should retire. By his definition, he should never have been allowed in the WH! The US definitely needs all the RBGs it can get, especially now! She is such a great example for women, especially young women starting out. Kudos RBG!!!

Well it is 22C right now but feels like 26C. Humidity 68%. This afternoon is supposed to be a high of 27C which means it will feel like 30C. Yesterday’s high of 36C which felt like 40C was brutal. It is supposed to cool a bit for the rest of the week. Winter can’t come fast enough for me! Stay hydrated everyone!!!
