Even when (and if) the policy is gone, the Republican hatred for non-white children that this policy demonstrates will remain.
I think impeachment is a wonderful wet dream, but it’s not realistic until Democrats control the House and have 67 votes in the Senate. In addition, it won’t help, unless we can impeach Pence simultaneously.

Sam – Act I – “If you’re hoping that any of the senators who tweeted this weekend that they opposed family separation, would come up with anything better… don’t hold your breath.” Well, Jeff probably could … and so could other Dems … but no one in the regime would accept those ideas. “Like Donald and Melania” – more like Schrödinger’s cat.
Act II – Someone tweeted “The first thing is to put a man on the sun.” Can it be Orange Judas? Please? Please?
(I doubt Orange Judas is jealous of real lawyers so much as he is jealous of people who can read.)
Act III – I like Tom, but it isn’t enough to impeach. You have to be able to convict. And that is exactly what we CANNOT do. And the very worst thing we could do is to impeach and fail to convict. Can you imagine what he and his base would do with that? Innocence! Vindication! SAINTHOOD!
That’s why I said we need 67 votes, the requirement for conviction, in the Senate.
You and I are as one on this. I do hope that if we can get the House and 66, maybe even 65, we can get just barely enough to convict, but I am not counting on it even should we get to that point, nor am I counting on getting to that point.
I see 52 as out best case.
Sam is spot on, and I’m with her, on this debacle at the border with the separations at the border.
Gawd, I sure do wish we could impeach this A– and his cohorts too. Wouldn’t that be grand?
I was talking to someone just yesterday, about impeachment, and made the very same point: If he is brought up on charges, and the vote to actually impeach goes sour, watch the HELL out! And, yes, impeaching successfully, and leaving Mike (“I talk to Jesus!”) Pence to be POTUS would be horrid. Odds of impeaching both, simultaneously, or serially? I don’t think advance calculus could find the correct answer. It may be a risky thing, but we have to win big in November, and beat his wig off his head, in 2020!!!!!!!!!
The problem with booting the Orange Ogre out of the Oval Office (pardon the alliteration) is we could go from the frying pan into the fire. One guess as to who will succeed the Tangerine Tyrant–
There is evidence, IMO damning evidence, against him too. And IF the timing is right, we only have to take out the top two – the Speaker will be ours. Not certainties, just hope – but circumstances do change, and we need to be able to change with them.
