Compared to April, May results were down in Bandwidth and strongly up in every other category. That’s excellent news.

Compared with last May, we are down in Uniques and Visits and up in every other category. That means fewer visitors are doing more.
Here is our ClustrMap for 2018 YTD. This is five months’ traffic.
ClustrMap misses a lot of visits, because many visits can’t be easily traced to a location.
Here are our top five articles:
Monthly Report for April 2018 5/2/2018 748
Memorial Day 5/28/2018 719
This Week’s Most Outrageous Republican Moments 5/26/2018 718
Bernie on the Iran Nuclear Deal 5/15/2018 692
PhD in Bullshitology 5/25/2018
The count represents only the people who opened the page for that specific article. All were from May. I wrote all 5. I am somewhat surprised that our lead article was a Monthly Report. I would have been happier to see more of our other authors’ work represented here. Lona has been preparing for the great migration, and the Squatch has been hiding from green tornados, but Nameless, and especially JD published some truly superior articles.
Here are our top non-blog/news referrers (100 referral minimum):
Care2 3,857
Google 3,329
Stumbleupon 545
Baidu 141
Reddit 125
Google was down, and Care2 was up. Stumbleupon and Baidu were virtually unchanged. Reddit made the list, and Facebook did not.

We had 7 sites with 2 or more referrals, down 4 from April. Putting blogs’ links here increases the ratings of their sites, so this “linkey love” is our thank you for their referral support. We still need to improve this. I still think I need to start visiting our blog roll, which is terribly out of date.
As of midnight June 1, we had 8,238 articles and 98,769 comments.
Kudos to Richard, who earned a Big Mouth Award in May for making the 98,000 comment.
I recommend using your own avatar. Go to Gravatar. Sign up using the email address you use to post comments here and upload the image you want to use as your avatar. Whenever you comment under that email address here or on any WordPress blog (several others too), that image will become your avatar.
Your Administrators are Lynn Squance, aka Sasquatch or Squatch, SoINeedAName, aka Nameless, and I, aka TomCat, the Founder. Your Editors are Joanne Dixon, aka JD the Erynator and Lona Goudswaard, aka Lona the Napster. I promoted them from Author in August 2017 to give them the ability to add graphics to comments and the ability to correct my innumerable typos.
This is our policy on links. We do not embed links to extreme Republican websites, like Faux Noise, Breitfart or World Nut Daily. However I leave notes in square brackets when I delete such links, (example: [faux noise delinked]) so readers, who wish to follow them can click through to the source article. I also remove topical links. Finally, I blank the target on all links, so they open in a new tab or window.
We now have five months, before we will have a major opportunity to reclaim part of our nation from the monster that possesses all three branches of government. If you haven’t started working toward that end, you are way past due.
Thank you for your support here, and kudos for all the good you do, everywhere you do it.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
It IS interesting that a Monthly Report was the top article. That could mean a lot of things….
I suppose as much badmouthing of Facebook as we have been doing it may not be surprising that it did not make the list. They must never have heard the saying, “Keep your friends close… and your enemies closer.”
thanks, but curious how do you measure “Bandwidth” or what exactly is it measuring??? how much we read in each article??? something else???
Good question!
I’m curious as to the answer also. Could very well be that there’s an app that automatically measures it.
But my guess is that it’s something like:
Page size in KB x Number of visitors x Page views x Days in the month
Bandwidth is measured in Gigabytes. A GB > 1 billion bytes. It’s a measure of raw data transferred from our servers to your computers. The text phrase ‘Hello World’ is just a few bytes. One of Rachel’s more roundabout videos is several Megabytes. Our HSP (Hosting Service Provider) measures all these stats.
Does that help?
So, correct me if I’m wrong, but bandwidth being down may mean fewer graphics, videos, and gifs are being used in both articles and comments?
Fewer being viewed than for April, but look at the big picture. March, April and may were HUGE for bandwidth.
Thank you for your extensive researching, and reporting.
Boggles my mind, actually how you keep count of everything.
Thanks again!!
Always interesting to read your report. You get hits from China? Somebody must have found a way to tunnel through their infamous censorship. Now let us hope Net Neutrality remains in force, because imagine the effect its end would have on your blog!
Good to see numbers in May are up from April, TomCat.
As you said, my contribution has been below par recently, though I did contribute an article in May. My apologies in advance for it getting worse as I have to limit my time commenting too for the next month or two.
It’s fair dinkum!
Green tornado??? More like a green tsunami that wipes out everything!!! Actually I am trying to do an article on Drumpf for the near future spurred on by the latest Drumpf and company despicable tirades.
Good numbers, good articles and GREAT blog!!!
Thanks Puddy Tat for all you do to keep us up to date with the ravings of that Liar-in-Chief in the WH and other lunatic Republicans!
Thanks and tired hugs to all!
