Here is the one hundred twentieth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Republican comedienne, Roseanne Barr. She is so honored for the Republican way she matched her beloved Fuhrer’s racist hate level.

Roseanne,” the top new show of the season, was canceled by ABC after series star Roseanne Barr made a racial slur on social media about a member of the Obama administration.
“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, said in a statement Tuesday.
Barr made the slur in a tweet about Valerie Jarrett, an Obama adviser between 2009 and 2017. She said Jarrett looks as if the Muslim Brotherhood and “Planet of the Apes” “had a baby.”… [emphasis added]

I’m not sure ABC fired her in anticipation of a Blue wave, but I would love to see one.
For now, I just wish that all Republicans, who have earned a parade, shared Rosannes’ well-deserved status: unemployed!

The original Tweet is crass and tasteless – and almost indistinguishable from other “ape” tweets and remarks over the last ten or more years, many aimed at Michelle Obama – one of the world’s most beautiful women – mostly by butt-ugly pink women. What really dropped my jaw was the part of her so-called apology where she said “I had no idea she was black. I thought she was Persian or Jewish or something.” That may not be an exact quote, but it’s very close.

She’s smug, imho. Can’t say that I’ve liked this show even back in the late 80’s, nor the new ‘reboot’ of her show.

One thing I don’t like about twitter is that users are allowed to delete tweets after they have been posted and have received replies. I do not have a twitter account.

As far as I’m concerned, all of the members of the Electoral College that put this present mis-administration in power should be held responsible and also be awarded a part in this parade.
It’s just hard to fathom how anyone w/ two synapses that work can support Twitler.
Very much enjoyed the original “Roseanne” show. When it rolls around to the “Antenna TV” channel for us non-cable folks I’ll catch it now and again.
Haven’t seen one episode of its reincarnation – and glad I didn’t waste my time.

TC has said he promoted me, among other things, to correct his typos. And I did see it. But I was afraid that changing it here would disconnect it from Care2, since it’s in the actual title and therefore also in the URL.. I figured everyone here has had days with more thumbs than fingers and would understand.
I noticed it and did fix it as it does not change the url. I’ve done it a few times now. I had the same fear the first time but I checked it as I went and the url did not change.

Barr’s apology wasn’t an apology at all, but some lines she thought would save her show. As soon as she was fired, she returned to twitter full blast, though she had said she’d leave, and started making up all these excuses for having tweeted that “one” racist joke (apparently there were more) and then went all out Republican by claiming she wasn’t racist but a victim because she made one mistake and they were out to get her on that one blooper.
She also blamed the tweet on sleeping pills, saying she had been “ambien tweeting”. But the drug’s manufacturer, Sanofi, said in a statement: “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.” Best response I’ve seen in some time.
Like her idol, Barr doesn’t know when to shut up and probably will be a guest on Faux New soon and often, or have a show there of her own. But never “Roseanne”, ABC probably owns that and most of the cast has denounced her.
Such a vile individual. I never did like the “Roseanne” show as I found her so crass and unlikable. I am sure though that Drumpf’s sheeple will be outraged that the show was cancelled.

So appropriate!!! The name Sanofi tweaked my curiosity as they make the insulin I use.
I do however feel sorry by the other people, cast and crew, who were so adversely affected by her vileness. They have come out as appalled by her tweet.
Good on ABC and other outlets like HULU who will no longer carry her show, old or new.
