It’s a lazy day, because, after the holiday weekend, news is scarce, but I filled the time with chores.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 3:22 (average 5:10). To do it, click here. How did you do?

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Democrats Work To Level Election Field, Undo GOP Gerrymandering
Anytime Scott Walker, Fartfuhrer of Fitzwalkerstan, takes it in the sphincter, TC does a one-legged happy dance. If we doing it across the country, so much the better. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!
From Daily Kos: On Aug. 7, progressives have another chance to flip a key GOP-held House seat from red to blue in Ohio’s vacant 12th Congressional District, and Daily Kos is pleased to endorse Democrat Danny O’Connor in this special election.O’Connor has deep roots in Ohio and has served as Franklin County Recorder since 2016, where he swiftly instituted reforms to make the office more responsive to veterans (for whom his office provides ID cards) and the homeless, by implementing a plan to store birth certificates so that they can more easily apply for housing. And he practiced the progressive values he believes in by instituting the Recorder’s Office’s first paid family leave program.
His opponent, on the other hand, is an arch-conservative. Republican state Sen. Troy Balderson opposed expanding Medicaid in Ohio, even though it was backed by his own Republican governor and his GOP colleagues in the legislature. But of course, that’s not enough: He also supports repealing the Affordable Care Act altogether. And naturally, he’s voted to defund Planned Parenthood and has pledged to “build Trump’s wall.”
Danny O’Connor for Congress! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!
From Alternet: A reporter for Breitbart News courted a black Bernie Sanders campaigner to switch allegiances to Donald Trump in 2016 — and then convinced him to work for the right-wing website and encourage his fellow African American voters to sit out the presidential election.
Bloomberg News reported Tuesday that Bruce Carter, the founder of Black Men for Bernie, revealed his story to the website after falling out with his former employers when they ceased paying him in the weeks following the 2016 election. [emphasis added]
I wonder how many voters were fooled by this paid race-traitor. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

4:41 Maybe Squatch can save him.
Speaking of the Catholic Church in America, and who does it think it is anyway, here’s a petition from Faithful America
New ad from VoteVets. I don’t know his district, but from where I sit I very much like the tone it strikes.
Rachel – Rage tweeting does seem to be a Repblican thing.Walker does sounf less hysterical (except for being “the world’s most broken snooze button”) but equally full of lies. So nice to see him taken down.
DKos – I wish him well – better than just well, the best. I also wish Sherrod Brown all the best. He is being hunted (again) and they are definitely outspending him. Ohio does have more than its share of tin foil hats, or so say people who have lived there.
AlterNet – TC, you know as I know that in 2016 there were actual Bernie supportes, and then there were those who flocked to Bernie because they were suffering from Hillary Derangement Syndrome. They were easy to tell apart, especially after the primaries, because those who actually supported Bernie FOLLOWED HIS ADVICE. I doubt whether melanin provided any protection against Hillary Derangement Syndrome. I agree that the situation is one to generate multiple facepalms and even some head banging on walls.
Cartoon – How nice to be able to read, on this anniversary, of some efforts working to bring it back.
MSNBC: Glad that this is being looked at, this is so important! Good video, and passing this on.
DK: He’s got my support, GO! Mr. O’Conner.
AN: How sad. Not voting? Voting for dt? How unfortunate!
Cartoon: Yep. And TX too (1845)
Busy weekend, now it’s time to sit back for awhile. Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.
MSNBC: Gerrymandering is a major problem in many states. We definitely have it here in Georgia, and I am involved in the efforts to fight it. The real challenge is getting a truly neutral organization to draw the district maps.
DK: I wish Danny O’Connor much luck – let’s hope the Blue Wave continues to build so he (and a lot of other people!) can ride it to victory.
Alternet: Really? That creep should be ashamed of himself. Dorks like him helped get tRump elected.
Cartoon: Bonne chance, Cheese State residents!
Puzzle — 4:15 Not today JD! Doesn.t he look worried!
TRMS — Holder and Obama, in their new endeavour, can’t stop until every state has a just electoral system, even if they have to do it one state at a time. Good on them to sue that little ferret-face, Scott Walker, and win! The citizens of Wisconsin might just get their state back. Of course Scott Walker lies . . . he’s a Republican!
Daily Kos — “He also supports repealing the Affordable Care Act altogether. And naturally, he’s voted to defund Planned Parenthood and has pledged to “build Trump’s wall.”” — It is time to repeal Troy Balderson and send him home never to return! Danny O’Connor for Congress!!!
AlterNet — I sure hope that voters are smarter this time around!
Cartoon — AMEN!!!
Chile con perro!
Rachel Maddow: The Obama/Holder Groups is doing great work and especially Scott Walker’s Wisconsin is feeling it. Let’s hope this group attains for Democrats in all states fair elections and voters who have started to believe in the democratic process again and will take responsibility for their right to vote. The group can claim an overall success and disband when gerrymandering has been declared illegal and all maps have been drawn fairly, i.e. not in favor of anyone.
DK: Let’s hope the voters of Ohio’s 12th Congressional District have had enough of Drumpf and his impersonators and run Troy Balderson out of the district for denying them Medicaid and Obamacare and Planned Parenthood healthcare for women. I wish Danny O’Çonnor all the best in this hard election. We’ll probably hear more of it before August when Republicans draw out all the stops and start personal attacks on O’Connor because that’s all they can think off to win.
Alternet: So sad how Bruce Carter gives (African-American male) Democrats a bad name by his Republican greed. First by selling out the Bernie Campaign by working for Breitbart behind the screens and betraying his own “Black Men for Bernie”, then Breitbart when they stopped paying. He tries to cover his a$$ by maintaining that”at the time, he genuinely believed Trump would rehabilitate urban communities in ways he thought the Democratic Party failed to do.” Yeah, right. Carter is as Drumpfian as they come.
Hope you enjoyed the “all quiet at the news front” weekend, except for the chores of course, TomCat. I certainly did.
Thanks all. Hugs!
