At 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, it’s a Stormy day, and I bet Putin’s Pervert rues the day he met the porn star he paid to spank him. She has a much better lawyer than Michael Cohen. Trump was claiming him that all Michel Cohen did for him bribing and strong arming women making claims against him, but Michael Avanatti has uncovered the smoking gun, that may be equivalent to the Watergate Tapes.
“Follow the money.” That Watergate meme is now poised to dominate the Donald Trump-Michael Cohen investigation for this news cycle – and beyond. The impetus is a document released by lawyer Michael Avenatti, confirmed by the New York Times, that revealed that a shell company Cohen created and used to pay off the porn star Stormy Daniels received $500,000 from a company linked to a Russian oligarch with ties to Vladimir Putin.
That’s not all. Cohen’s shell company, Essential Consultants LLC, received a total of $4.4 million in payments from a range of sources with an interest in influencing Trump, including the pharma giant Novartis AG, Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. and AT&T Inc., seeking to pull off its merger with Time Warner Inc.
The giant question that follows from the payments to Cohen is what they were for – and whether any of the money in the shell company made its way into any entities owned or controlled by Trump himself.
If any money passed through the shell to Trump, then the B-word is going to be getting a lot of play – because it will look as if Trump’s fixer set up a shell company to accept bribes on the president’s behalf… [emphasis added]

Needless to say, such a story is incomplete, without the excruciatingly precise detail that comes from Rachel Maddow.
And, as Rachel suggested, here is Lawrence O’Donnell interviewing Michael Avenatti himself.
Kudos to Avenatti. I’m convinced that Trump cancelled the Iran deal with such hoopla, because he intended the reaction, however negative, to distract attention from the investigations into him. Has Avenatti turned up the volume or what? This has all the earmarks of an influence peddling scheme to several, including Russia.

WOW!!! Sex, lies, paperwork following the $$, and covering up!
Dam! WTG! Mr. Avenatti.
The funniest headline on this may have been, “How the FQ did Avenatti find out?” And the moral of that is … If you are willing to concentrate on and dig your way through basic business public records, which most of us find more boring than anything else in the universe, you can find out A LOT. And a lot of what you find out will NOT be boring at all.
I too am curious what Novartis was paying for. Novartis makes the only nasal spray which helps keep my allergic nose unblocked (Yes, there are generic versions, but the generics all add a preservative which undoes some of the good effect.) Oh, well. I had to use generics for a while; if I have to go back to using them again, well, at least I’m old.
They saying they were paying for access top Trump and his inner circle, but not why.
I don’t give a rat’s arse who ultimately brings down tRump – or if it’s a group effort.
SON OF A WOW!
It seems that the party is just really beginning.
Oh yeah i agree the Iran deal is a distraction to this filth!!!
WTG Avenatti!
Love it!
Lawrence starts out more or less questioning how Avenatti got this much information without subpoenas, warrants or court-involvement and doesn’t really get an answer. To an untrained, foreign eye, Avenatti looks very much like one of the lawyers that Drumpf himself likes to engage to clean up his mess; someone who has experience with how crooks work and with an extraordinary love of the limelight. He can’t be putting all this work in for Stormy Daniels on the little she can afford to pay him, can he. But that is obviously my personal gut-feeling; I hope I’m wrong about it and even if there was something in the past, Avenatti seems to have risen to the occasion and beyond himself, and all his information is 100% above board and procured legally.
With it Avenatti has certainly awakened a lot more people to the fact that with Drumpf it is ALWAYS a question of Follow the Money. That was obvious from the moment Drumpf stole the presidency, but most media let themselves be distracted by the petty wars he waged against them on Twitter and by the daily scandals emanating from the White House. Mueller has probably been following that money for a long time, which is probably the reason it takes him so long. And Joyce Vance, former US attorney, wasn’t kidding that all these revelations leaked to the press do not help Mueller; on the contrary.
I understand that Avenatti is representing Daniels pro bono . . . I think it was with Rachel or Lawrence previously that he revealed this.
Did he also explain why he’s putting all this time, effort and therefore money towards her particular case?
He’s definitely not pro-bono, but he might be pro-boner. Stormy has crowd-funded over $300,000 for legal fees. There may also be a contingency agreement.
I guess I was mistaken as to what he said, although that is how I understood it at the time.
We got Avenatti & they got Giuliani.
WE WIN!
On points, absolutely. But look out for treachery.
Drain the swamp???? Drumpf has effectively increased the size and depth of the swamp, and it continues to increase exponentially with all that is coming out!
This week Drumpf announced the US withdrawal from the Iran Nuclear Agreement by saying he was keeping another campaign promise. I wonder when he will announce that he is keeping yet another campaign promise — to drain the swamp? I doubt he ever will because that would mean he has to expose himself and others as American swamp monsters!
With all that is going on, it makes me wonder how closely Mueller is watching this unfold and if his team is privy to some of this information that Avenatti is turning up. Certainly Mueller has to remain within the scope of his appointment or risk all his hard work, but just looking forward . . .
“Has Avenatti turned up the volume or what?” — He has turned up the heat so far that Drumpf should be just about burned to a crisp!
Thanks all. Hugs!
It seems that Michael Cohen’s eyes have taken on a hollowed out, far-away look to them, as of late…
