It’s a heat have here in the CatBox.  This morning I tried to keep the room cool with an Open Window, but the building had not bled off yesterday’s heat and, when the sun hit the brickwork, the inside temperature reached 80°, before the outside temperature reached 60°.  Today’s high is forecast at 86°, as is tomorrow’s.  My medical waste disposal company just left after swapping my full sharps container for an empty one.  I’m waiting for Store to Door to arrive with my grocery order, and I need to unpack and stow it.  Wendy comes this evening to destink the TomCat, who is VERY stinky, due to the heat.

Groceries are done.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:03 (average 4:04).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): This is MoveOn

Considering all the good MoveOn does, I’m most happy to share their plug for themselves. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Firing Mueller Won’t End President Trump Investigation, Mueller Made Sure

That is excellent planning, but it needs one more step. Investigations need to proceed and indictments need to be issued on the State level also, so Trump or his successor cannot defeat them with federal pardons. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, announced on Tuesday that when the purported “pee tape” becomes available it will be offered free to all Amazon Prime members.

Speaking to reporters in Seattle, Bezos said that the pee-tape offer was “consistent with Amazon’s mandate to offer the highest-quality content to our customers.”

Bezos acknowledged that the tape had not surfaced yet, but said that Amazon was “working around the clock to make that happen.”

Woooo Hoooo Andy!! I’ll email Prime customer service and reserve my copy today!! RESIST!!

  1. 4:35 There’s an internet clothing retailer which sells a T-shirt that says, “Sorry I’m late. I didn’t want to come.” Well, I’m sorry I’m slow. I didn’t want to get up.

    Love to WWWendyWW.

MoveOn DOES do a lot of good, and the more support it gets, the more it can do. Thank you for this.

Rachel – We don’t know it isn’t already being investigated at state levels, just very quietly. Incidentally, aren’t you glad Trump brought/is bringing Rudy to Washington and hence keeping his nose away from the Southern District of New York?

The next step in the Trump-Bezos feud. I see, she snickered.

Cartoon – The record, I gather, was later broken by Strom Thurmond (in 1957). But it’s still the longest filibuster of conscience.

  2. MOC: And I approve this message!!! ‘Arms are for Hugs! Love it!!

MSNBC: Good point, and definitely great news!!!

    NYer: LOL, Andy. 😉

Cartoon: In 1953, Morse conducted a filibuster for 22 hours and 26 minutes protesting the Tidelands Oil legislation, which at the time was the longest one-person filibuster in U.S. Senate history. *wikiThe bill overturned the Supreme Court rulings and gave coastal states clear title to the ocean floor out to their historic seaward boundaries.

Hi, Wendy! Hope that you have a good evening, take good care, (from the heat), and Thanks, Tom.

  3. Just came in from physio and leaving again but wanted to share this Ady Barkan ad for health care put out by Bold Progressives.  The email is also seeking donations to keep the ad running.

    • F/U — Sorry to note that the “ignorant” Republican won.  I say ignorant because Lesko says she did not know that Republicans were trying to take away healthcare.  Bullshit!!!  She knew, or is so stupid that she should not be in the public service.  This from the azcentral.

“West Valley voters elected Republican Debbie Lesko to fill a congressional seat after Trent Franks resigned in December, midway through his eighth term in Congress, in response to sexual-harassment allegations. Lesko defeated Democrat Hiral Tipirneni to win the seat.”

It was a 52.9% to 47.2% for Dr Hiral Tiperneni, Democrat.  The good news is that Lesko has to stand for re-election in November so the skirmish is lost but war is not over.

    • Sorry, I don’t know how to make the video fit within the boundaries of the post.

      • I’ve adjusted it for you, Lynn. If you go to <>, code, and change width=”….” to “640” and height=”…” to “320” the size will fit a (first) comment and with a window ratio befitting most YouTube videos.

  4. I’m a MoveOn supporter, too!

MSNBC: I wouldn’t be surprised if canning Mueller will just make things worse for the Orange Ogre.

    TNY: We all wish.

Cartoon: Remember that sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

  5. MoveOn rocks!
    Rachel:  Very nice to know.
New Yorker: Now, wouldn’t that be special?!

  6. MoveOn: Good plug!

Rachel Maddow: Good news. Murphy’s law is about the only law that doesn’t apply to the work Mueller and his team do; they seem to have all contingencies and anything that could possibly go wrong covered. Sometimes it pays off to leave it to bureaucrats to handle things; their attention to detail is an asset in this case. Let’s hope Drumpf’s devil is in their detail too.

TNY: Amazon is again trying to beat Drumpfstore.com, the on-line shop Don Jr. and Eric have set up to sell Drumpf merchandise, on a “first”. The only question now which Chinese manufacturer can copy the peepee tapes faster, Amazon’s or Drumpf’s.

  7. Puzzle — 3:46  I’m over my head with this one.

MoveOn — That almost needed a barf bag alert when the Orange Ogre showed up.  Fortunately he only made a brief appearance!  Goog vid!  Power to the people!

MSNBC — Great news!  But I also agree with you when you say “Investigations need to proceed and indictments need to be issued on the State level also, so Trump or his successor cannot defeat them with federal pardons.”  We already know that Drumpf knows how to execute questionable pardons — Arpaio?  Libby?  Neither should have been issued.  If he could, I think Drumpf would pardon Hitler!

    The New Yorker — LMAO!!!

Cartoon — JD: “… it’s still the longest filibuster of conscience.” — I did not know that Republicans were capable of operating with their conscience!

Very tired today as yesterday was a long day, not arriving home til 2300 hours from teaching.  Did not sleep well as my tummy decided it was time to give back to the community.  I have a dentist apt Monday but they called to change to today.  Not a chance with today’s heat!  Glad the destinking proceeded as planned.  Those of us to the north really appreciate that!

    • Unfortunately, you don’t get to appreciate it again until Sunday. 05

    • Republicans today (and most int he 50’s) are not capable of conscience, which is why the Thurmond filibuster didn’t have it.  Morse was nothing but conscience, and at different times, he was a Republican, and a Democrat, and an Independent.  It makes for a little confusing read, but at the time of the filibuster I’m pretty sure he was a Democrat.  But in any case, Morse was Morse.

  8. Thanks all.  Hugs! 19
