“Deadbeat Dad.” Perfect metaphor. “Red-headed stepchild” also comes to mind. Look, if Agent Orange and all his voters and all the police in the country (and especially ICE) do not believe that anyone with a skin any darker than medium beige is not a citizen and therefore has no rights of citizenship here in the contiguous 48, they are never going to believe that people on an island who (gasp) don’t speak English (!!! clutch pearls) are citizens. The fact that it is a fact will make no difference. I’m really glad Sam is doing this. I hope it reaches someone or several someones and changes a mind or three. But I can’t afford to hold my breath.
