It’s another muggy day here at the CatBox and I feel tired, because I slept poorly last night.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:51 (average 4:17).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Polls: Facebook Favorability Takes Big Plunge

The only way to win with Facebook is not to play. UNPLUG!! RESIST!!

From YouTube (CNN Channel): Tim Kaine: Trump ‘lying’ or ‘delusional’ on DACA

Kaine is spot-on. To protect Dreamers we need Democratic control. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: As Stephanie Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels, told the story to Anderson Cooper on “60 Minutes” on Sunday night, she was heading into a fitness class in Las Vegas one day in 2011, with her infant daughter in tow—“taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the back seat, diaper bag, you know, getting all the stuff out”—when a man she didn’t know walked up to her. Clifford said that she remembered the man saying, “Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.” The “story” was one that she had told a few weeks before the day of the fitness class to a writer for Bauer magazines, which owns In Touch and Life & Style, in which she described a sexual encounter that she said had taken place with Donald Trump at a celebrity golf tournament in 2006. Life & Style had offered her fifteen thousand dollars for the story; it then called Trump for comment and, in response, two former employees of the magazine told “60 Minutes,” Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen threatened the publication with a lawsuit. The magazine held the story and didn’t pay Clifford. But that, according to Clifford’s account, did not count as going far enough; hence the guy in the Las Vegas parking lot.

“And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl,’ ” Clifford continued. “ ‘It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone.”

This is SOP for Donald Trump, aka Putin’s Pervert, and the Republican Reich! RESIST!!

  1. 4:18 I am not quite ready for this scene, but I am slowly getting there. I hope the rest of you are farther into Spring.

MSNBC – More and more vendors I deal with (and I assume more and more that I don’t) are telling customers to interact with them on Facebook, it seems. Maybe that will turn around. I never have gone there, and never will.

CNN – It’s easy to look at Agent Orange and pick up symptoms (e.g., ‘delusional”). It’s much harder to settle definitively on a cause. I was reading this morning that late-stage syphilis would account for a lot of the – let’s call it instability – he displays. But it can’t be proved without a blood test, and there are too many other possible causes to be positive. But to answer the question, “Do Democrats risk losing?” unfortunately, yes – because so many Americans are – I can ony call it “hypnotized” by him. We need to keep fact checking and fact checking and fact checking, like Kaine, all the way, not just into November, but beyond.

TNY – Typical gangster cliche – from a typical ganster. Grrrrr.

Cartoon – And later that same year, Thomas Jefferson was re-elected. You know, there used to be a thing, “Are you a Jeffersonian Democrat or a Jacksonian Democrat?” I got to the point where I said I was a Jacksonian Democrat – but that’s JESSE, not Andrew!

  2. MSNBC: Will pass this info on to family and friends. thx!

CNN: Thank you, Mr. Kaine for saying what I think every day about this imbecile. Some of these students will be voting, and we’ll go blue!

NYer: I watched this interview, and I have to give her kudos for telling her story and getting it out there. She was direct with her words, and spot on in answering the questions. And meanwhile, back in the WH….Putin’s Punta was markedly quiet on the twitter sphere. I hope it come back to nail his as-!!

Cartoon: What a sad sad period in our history. Jackson was despised by his signing this into law. Horrible! The Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee-Creek, Seminole, and original Cherokee Nations were unsuccessful in their attempt to keep their land and were eventually forcibly removed by the United States government in a march to the west that later became known as the Trail of Tears. *wiki

Hope that you get your rest, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. YT: I have never had a Facebook account, and now am I ever glad of that!

TNY: I watched the 60 minutes interview (had to wait for more than 30 minutes thanks to a damn basketball game), and though Stormy came across as brave and frank, I’m still not sure what to make of her. Is she speaking out for honesty? Or revenge? Or is she hoping for another payout? Well, let’s take her at face value for now.

Cartoon: Never, ever think that something like this couldn’t happen again. Now that the yellowbellies in Kook-gress have decided it’s OK to let law enforcement [sic] spy on our Internet data, that could easily help the Gestapo round up a lot of “undesirables.” RESIST and PERSIST and INSIST!

    • Made WORSE by Kansas winning!

Lord, I HATE – LOATHEDESPISE Kansas!

Not only because of the state’s right-wing policies – but specifically because of the ASSHOLES that live in Johnson County, KS – one of the richest counties in the country AND part of the Metro AND solid republican.

When I first moved here I actually had a fondness for Kansas.  But the JoCo A-holes quickly disabused me of THAT fondness.  JoCo people are OBNOXIOUS!

They’re rude, obnoxious (yeah, I know I said that) supercilious, condescending, abusive, impolite, arrogant, snobs, snooty and even UPPITY!

Going with “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”GO VILLANOVA!!!

  4. I am sooo glad that I have never had an account with Facebook. YES! lol.
    .

  5. MSNBC: On the one hand users are finally waking up to what the consequences are if they believe that they have nothing to hide and give social media access to so much personal data, on the other hand investors are wisening up to the fact that FB won’t be profitable if its main product, its users, is catching on and leaving FB in throngs. Poor Zuckerberg ???, another over-confident billionaire seeing his virtual money melt away before his eyes.

CNN: Nothing blunt about “[President Trump] is either lying or he is completely delusional”, just the plain truth. Let’s hope Democrats will not fall for lie 2200 and remember this lie and the more than 2000 that went before it when they go to the polls in November.

TNY: Again no surprise; this must the way the Drumpfs have done business for years. Bullying, intimidation, lying…

Cartoon: Just wait till Drumpf has his eye on reservation land because it turned out there’s something valuable to mine or pump out. History is starting to repeats itself all too often under the Drumpf administration.

  6. Thanks all.  I’ll join Nameless in pacifist hugs! 12
