It’s another unseasonably warm and exceptionally humid day.  Store to Delivered groceries, and I stowed them and had lunch.  WWWendy comes this evening to destink the TomCat and help with chores.  I ordered her an essential oil diffuser for Valentines Day.  I told her she’s getting a French maid costume for housework.  I’m not ignoring the potential deal to fund the government for two years.  I want to see how it develops, before I comment on it.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Todays took me 3:06 (average 4:53).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Jeff Merkley Channel): Offshore Drilling: Merkley Calls on Trump and Zinke to Listen to Oregon’s Local Voices

I fully agree with Jeff. Oregon leads the way! RESIST!!

From YouTube (CSPAN Channel): Trump on Government Shutdown

Barf Bag Alert!!

How anti-American can he get?!!? The world is laughing us, because Putin’s pick is still fighting to destroy our nation from within. RESIST!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Elon Musk & SpaceX Rocket Into The History Books

Dang!! To think that an immigrant from a Trump-called "shithole country" did all that! But he made one mistake. He should have put Trump in that car!! RESIST!!

  1. 4:14 If I must look at orange, this is the way I want to be doing it.

VoteVets petition opposing proposed “military parade”

Jeff – Yay Jeff. He doesn’t mess around, does he? “Insane plan.” Right up front. You go, guy.

BBA: Attached to some articles on officials who are leaving and/or retiring, I am seeing a lot of comments similar to “Why doesn’t he/she stay and fix it from the insode?” Depending in context, I’m sometimes responding “It’s harder than it looks from outside to fix things from the inside.” (Parenthetically, this is what Democrats as a party are now up against in Congress. “In a minority” is essentially the same as “on the outside.” It’s hearder than it looks.)

However, it’s not AT ALL difficult to destroy something from the inside. All it takes is the will, and insulating oneself against getting kicked outbefore one finishes.

Musk – Oh my! That is impressive! I don’t think that has even been attempted before, has it? And Brian certainly has our commercial means of transportation nailed.

Cartoon: Charles Pierce came up with a “Five Minute Rule” about the Paul family: any member can speak and make sense for five minutes. At exactly moment 5:01, he will say something “so far off the rails that you will find yourself looking at him as though he has sprouted a reptilian head out of his sternum.”

  2. Yea, Dave, I agree with your comment. Kudos, Mr. Markley, I’m with you!!! Can we clone you here for Texas??

C-Span: He does and says more harm to us alongside with Putin. And…he doesn’t care!!!

MSNBC: WOW!! I watched this and I’m proud, and amazed at this man, Elon Musk!! for his contributions to this country! Absolutely thrilling to watch, KUDOS!!

Cartoon: Yup, he’ll stop up the toilet and flood the floor! ugh!

HI WWWendy!! It’s still rainy and cold here, and found out we’re still in a burn ban. Hope you have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. I used to be part of the “drill here, drill now” crowd. Deepwater Horizon changed that. Fossil fuel is DEAD! Renewable energy is the future!

Bravo Elon Musk! Yep, too bad he couldn’t put the Orange Ogre in that car. On a one-way trip.

  4. Damn that immigrant Musk. Once again, someone comes along and proves Trump wrong.  Of course, that’s what happens to you when you lie all the time.
    French maid costume?  Pictures please!

  5. Merkley: Can we drill through the tDump façade, and find the vacuum?
CSPAN: With tdump, we do not have the usual POTUS, we have PUTZ of the U.S.
Musk is phenomenal:  This is what one should be doing with one’s billions, not trying to screw everyone else out of whatever they have!
Cartoon: Charles Pierce came up with a “Five Minute Rule” about the Paul family: any member can speak and make sense for five minutes. At exactly moment 5:01, he will say something “so far off the rails that you will find yourself looking at him as though he has sprouted a reptilian head out of his sternum.”  I LOVE IT!!

  6. Jeff Merkely: He also tells it like it is, but unlike Drumpf he tells the truth and he does it with class. Three cheers for Jeff, and Oregon.

CSPAN: OMG, I agree with Drumpf! “The world is laughing at us” and “By the way, no other country has what we have…” Exactly. YOU! Thank goodness.

MSNBC: This is where I completely differ from the general opinion. When I see someone spend millions upon millions of dollars to launch a space rocket in the race to get commercial space travel for the ultra rich off the ground while those millions could have gone towards saving this planet from destruction or helping millions of people to clean drinking water or… I don’t get excited about progress. Elon Musk could have spent his money in far better ways making progress than this, but that probably wouldn’t have put his name in history books, at least not yet.

Cartoon: Should have been a long time ago.

    • Lona, giving rich people rides would serve only as a means to finance Musk’s real intent.  If we can move an small asteroids into earth orbit, we can use them as sources of raw materials.  We’re depleting what’s here. 09

  7. Puzzle — 4:01  Beautiful flower.

Jeff Merkley — Amen!!!  BTW, his Gulf spill overlay also extends into the west coast of Canada, into fishing grounds etc.  I used to live on the very west coast of Vancouver Island and know of what he talks.  Zinke and Drumpf listen to the voices of We the People?  I’m afraid the voices they only listen to are the voices of rabid greed!

CSPAN — Drumpf: “We’ll go with another shutdown!”  Final words from Drumpfenfartfuhrer.  The man is dangerous for the well being of the US and world.  If he is so concerned about deaths, perhaps he should look at gun control first!  The world is laughing at the US not because of its immigration “issues” as spoken of by Drumpf but because of this idiot, Drumpf, whom a minority of Americans elected in a flawed electoral system.

MSNBC — Kudos to Elon Musk!!!  Very impressive landing of the rocket boosters!!!  I of course know of him, but I did not know a lot about him so I googled of course.  This from Wikipedia:

“Born in Pretoria [South Africa, not to be confused with Peoria, Illinois or Peoria, Arizona], Musk taught himself computer programming at the age of 12. He moved to Canada when he was 17 to attend Queen’s University. He transferred to the University of Pennsylvania two years later, where he received a degree in physics from the College of Arts and Sciences and an economics degree from the Wharton School.”

Proof that Wharton can produce stellar graduates and that Drumpf is one of the occasional duds! And kudos to Brian Williams for the reporting.

Cartoon — Give him a swirly and let go!!!

Very busy couple of days with teaching etc.  A French maid outfit!  LMAO!!!  Figures that Critter wants pictures!!  It has finally stopped raining — I think — and most of the next few days are supposed to be dry and warmer.  We’ll see!

  8. Thanks all.  Tiring hugs!
