Today’s the last day of the current humidity wave. I hate feeling chilly and sweating at the same time. Tomorrow is a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb. My Broncos play the Chiefs, who are sitting their starters, so my guys have an outside chance. I’ll hurry along, as this weather has me big-time pooped.

Short Takes:
From YouTube (Inequality Media Channel): Robert Reich Googles Himself
Normally I don’t put up fundraising vids, but this one had so much interesting info about the Reich on the left that is right that I made an exception. RESIST!!
From Daily Kos: Hats off to the people of Maine for their unrelenting pressure on Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) for putting partisanship over people with her vote to give the Republican donor class upward of $2 trillion in tax cuts, while also eliminating health insurance for some 13 million people. Her efforts at self-defense have been at best naive, at worst duplicitous, and downright shameless to boot. Now that the vote is over and her constituents are rightly enraged at her, she’s taking another stab at it, penning an op-ed in the Press Herald in which she decides to fall back on lying.
I supported this legislation because it will help lower-income and middle-income families keep more of their hard-earned money, boost the economy and encourage businesses, both small and large, to grow and create jobs here in Maine and around the country.
Look, the people of Maine just aren’t that dumb.
They aren’t? Explain Paul LePage! RESIST!!
From NY Times: President Trump, in an impromptu interview on Thursday with The New York Times, rattled off at least 10 false or misleading claims about the Russia investigation, wars abroad, health care, immigration and trade. Here’s an assessment.
He inaccurately said the claims against Paul Manafort occurred “many years ago before I ever heard of him.”
The two men reportedly met in 2011. Paul Manafort joined the Trump campaign in March 2016, was promoted to campaign chairman and chief strategist that May and was ousted that August.
Mr. Manafort is accused of serving as an unregistered agent of Ukraine from at least 2006 to 2015, laundering payments from 2006 to 2016 and making false statements to investigators from Nov. 23, 2016, to Feb. 10, 2017.
He misrepresented what a senator has said about the Russia investigation.
According to Mr. Trump, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, appeared “on television saying there is no collusion” between his campaign and Russia in the 2016 election. Ms. Feinstein has said she has not yet seen evidence of collusion, not that the evidence shows no collusion.
“It’s an open question because there’s no proof yet that it’s happened, and I think that proof will likely come with Mr. Mueller’s investigation,” she said in an interview in October with CBS, referring to the special counsel overseeing the inquiry.
I shared two. Click through for the other eight Trump lies listed for that interview. RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
5:34 It almost looks as if it’s covered in denim.
Got an email that Diane Russell, who is running to be Governor of Maine (and is a real progressive) fell on some ice and suffered a serious concussion. She is expected to make a full recovery, but needs to take some time off from campaigning.
So, OK, just for fun, read what Obama said to his DOJ about loyalty, and then compare it with this.
Reich <- LOL! I’ve been known to have granola, yogurt, and (dried) fruit for breakfast myself … but I can’t even do one pushup … and I’ve written no books. I don’t see a problem with sharing fundraising as long as you put a warning, if it’s good information.
DKos – See what I shared about Diane Russell above. See why I am concerned? Her campaign is trying to raise enough funds to convince her to stay in bed for a week. But I won’t put in a link. It’s not hard to Google. And WRT LePAge – he has been helped by third party candidates and too much purity.
NYTimes – Journalists love to catch him on the golf course because they can get him unfiltered by advisers. Either filtered or unfiltered, he is full of – ahem, falsehoods – but the unfiltered gets much closer to the falsehoods he really believes, as opposed to the falsehoods he is pushing for the Repugs. nd are his advisers nervous about it! Also, a few mental health pros who have up to now been silent have been driven to comment after seeing and reading this interview.
Cartoon – Republican supply-side Jesus is NOT MY Jesus.
‘The Don’ is so fitting for that corrupt, bilious POS that infests the WH! Well done Zimmerman!
And he stayed so well in character, that those who are bothered by his unchanging smile in other songs should have nothing to complain about!
YT/Robert Reich: Nice!
DK: I hope Collins feels the consequences of her duplicity in the next election. What she voted for is nothing less than the latest step in libertarian scamming, for the sake of “…striking at the heart of self-government,” in the words of economist Warren J. Samuels’ description of James Buchanan’s writings. Charles Koch has founded much of his work on Buchanan’s racist, elitist twisting of the social contract. Read “Democracy in Chains….,” by Nancy MacLean. LePage got in by default. I do not recall the whole story that a cousin in Maine told us, but I think his win was created by another candidate who backed out at the last minute.
NYT: Once again tDump lies because that is who he is.
IMC: A good man, thank you, Mr. Reich!!
DK: Positive healing thoughts to Ms. Russell, she needs to rest for the battle ahead. Collins would be welcome down here (tx), with the likes of Cruz & Cornyn (all liars), …..she would be in ‘good’ company. UGH!!!
NYT: He is so full of himself. ick! He lies, makes stuff up, will ‘work’ and play golf at the same time, lies, doesn’t have a grasp of the political arena, lies, isn’t taking care of the island of PR, or the folks at home, and screws us all !!!
Cartoon: Lordy! Not my Lord.
My guys play the Colts. We’ll see, alongside the vegan chili……Hope that you have a relaxing day/evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
*Joanne, I did see Mr. Obama’s statement about Loyalty. (got choked up reading it). I sure do miss him & his beautiful family. Thank you !
There is far more difference between the real Yeshua and the Republican perversion of him than there is between night and day.
Robert Reich: Too bad, it won’t download, so I can’t see those interesting bits you’re talking about, TomCat
DK: Let’s hope the people of Maine will end this discussion on how dumb they really are by giving Susan Collins AND Paul LePage in the next election in their state.
NYT: I think I’ll save myself some time with keeping up with American politics by just reading the fact checker columns. Besides Politic Plus, of course. Nothing that comes out of the mouth of a Republican or Drumpf or his administration is to be trusted. Sometimes life is a lot simpler if you ignore anything coming from that direction.
Puzzle — 4:22 You locked me out!!!
Robert Reich — Loved the raspberry! I wonder if that is the fruit he eats with breakfast? Speaking of breakfast, that sounds like a damn fine breakfast.
Daily Kos — Mainers resisted and persisted, but then Susan Collins caved. She let down the people she swore to represent. She gave her word and then back pedaled like the cowardly Republican she is! As for LePage, the vile cretin, I am glad he had the sense to return to the US from Canada back in 1979 when his first marriage ws dissolved.
NY Times — Drumpf has absolutely no acquaintance with the truth! As to the last lie/deception mentioned, how many of those followers are real people, and how many are fake accounts? Given his need to elevate himself above we mere mortals, it would not surprise me if the real accounts are substantially overstated.
Cartoon — That is the same one as last year! . . . and every other year that Republicans have ruled the roost!
Thanks all. Hugs! Huge Rush!!
