It’s a very uncomfortable day. The current temperature is 54°, about 10° above normal, but the humidity is 98%. I’m not hot, but I’m sweating anyway, and I slept very poorly. UGH!
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 3:05 (average 4:53). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From YouTube (Media Matters Channel): Some of the best moments of 2017
And in 2018, we’re not going to shut up either. RESIST!!
From USA Today: President Trump demanded Friday that Democrats approve a wall along the border with Mexico and other programs to tighten immigration before he supports a program designed to protect young people brought into the country illegally as children – all while promoting his agenda and attacking political critics on Twitter.
"The Democrats have been told, and fully understand, that there can be no DACA without the desperately needed WALL at the Southern Border and an END to the horrible Chain Migration & ridiculous Lottery System of Immigration etc. We must protect our Country at all cost!" Trump said during a wide-ranging tweet storm.
I have a one word reply!! NO!! RESIST!!
From NY Times: Alabama officials on Thursday unhesitatingly pushed aside a legal challenge from Roy S. Moore and certified Doug Jones as the winner of this month’s Senate election.
The action, during a brief meeting at the State Capitol, was essentially the state’s final step before the seating of the first Democrat elected to the Senate from Alabama in a quarter century. It was also a swift rejection, by some of the state’s most powerful Republicans, of Mr. Moore’s complaint that he was the victim of “systematic voter fraud.”
Mr. Jones’s margin of victory was 21,924 votes, with more than 1.3 million ballots cast.
Swear him in IMMEDIATELY! RESIST!!
Cartoon:
Although I normally post my Wounded Knee graphic on the 29th, this year I thought it appropriate to resurrect my cartoon from 12/29/2011 in light of Republican stance on Jerusalem.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
4:14 Light is pretty much always a good thing.
Oh, yes, I HATE high humidity at any temperature, but it does seem yo add inslut when the temperatures are not that high. During the 21 months I was stationed on Okinawa I was not dry for a second.
Media – Well, there was one actual LOL in there for me. “Hold on a second.” And I did like Lord’s face at the very end.
USA Today – I could come up with a different one-word reply, but we may as well keep it printable!
NYT – Well, thank Ceiling Cat. But, as you say, he needs to be sworn in. Good luck with that.
Cartoon – So true. And 127 years is not a major number anyway.
MM: ‘Bye Felicia’, dt: ‘I’m gonna be workin’ for you, I’m not gonna have time to play golf’, ‘Fox Lies’, The View.
USA: Freek NO!
NYT: Now!!!
Cartoon: Yep!
Take a well rested nap, you deserve it! We’re supposed to have freezing rain here for the weekend. Not that I plan on going out anytime…..Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
USA Today: This is how how tDump has managed in the past, as well, bullying, bullying, bullying!
Immigrants are not white folk, and the Koch boys, especially Charles, whose father help found the John Birch Society, founded the Cato Institute, which is a cover for his white supremacist, property owner’s, elitists ubber alles program.
NYT: We did it again, TC. Yes, Moore is living in his very own world, where he think he is entitled to his very own facts!
Read “Democracy in Chains…,” by Nancy MacLean!
MM: Proof of just what a total bollix-up the tRump regime is.
USA Today: Does the Orange Ogre still think that Mexico will pay for that wall?
NYT: Moore is just a sore loser.
Cartoon: All too true. Maybe he’s with all those bugnuts that are convinced the End Times are here.
MM: If the best moments of 2015 took 5 minutes of video to show, imagine how long it would take to view the worst. Just reading the list of whom the White House fired and hired would take 5 minutes, at least. Let’s hope the media will have tripled its “happy time” at the end of 2018.
USAT: First of all, Republican Senators already sold their soul…uhm vote for Drumpf’s and the Republican’s Tax Scam for a promise by Mitch McConnell to bring DACA to a good end. Drumpf is now selling the same goods to the Democrats for even a higher price. Neither McConnell nor Drumpf have ever kept a promise. Republicans should stand strong and remember their own promise: not to negotiate with Drumpf whatever happens.
NYT: Wish the Senate was as decisive as the Alabama officials by swearing Jones in right now, but I rather think that Democrats can look forward to some really bad procrastination on behalf of the Republican majority. Republicans can’t govern to save their lives, but procrastination is the name of the game they play extremely well.
Cartoon: Great thought behind switching to this cartoon, TomCat.
Thanks and sticky pooped hugs!
Puzzle — 3:31 Have you got your pelican friend ready to do some fishing for you?
Media Matters — “Silence is Consent” and I do NOT consent to this bilious POS taking not only the US but the entire world down the rabbit hole!
USA Today — If Democrats were stupid enough to agree to Drumpf’s suggestion and approve the wall, DACA would still languish and die because he lies better than a rug, and more often! And who will pay for that wall? He’ll have to get the funds approved by the Congress who just cut taxes and therefor the revenue stream that would help fund the wall. There is no way on God’s green earth that Mexico will pay, and nor should they. I don’t want a wall, but if Drumpf is so desperate for a wall, let the billionaire pay for it himself. (That should ensure that it never gets built! . . . unless contractors are stupid enough to build without payment up front since Drumpf likes to stiff people!)
NY Times — “Swear him in IMMEDIATELY!” — No! SOONER!!!
Cartoon — Drumpf must like the colour red because, when the Middle East erupts into a conflagration, the likes of which we have not seen in my lifetime, he will have blood all over his hands.
I, like I am sure so many others, am sick of hearing about this POS Drumpf. My doctor wonders why my blood pressure goes up so. Last time I went to the doctor’s it was 134/73 a good reading. I had not thought about Drumpf or his antics for at least 10 hours!
The last time I was at my doctor’s, they had me walk from the lobby into the equivalent of the second room away, and sat me right down and took it, and it was high. Then after I had finished the paperwork, gone into his office and been sitting for a while, he looked at it, and commented that pain can raise it, and boy, did the light dawn. When I walk, although my pain is usually pretty low grade, it is there, and it is enough to tighten up my breathing and get me short of breath. We took it again in the office, and the systolic was down about 30, and the diastolic about 20. I guess one’s never too old to learn something, even about a condition one thinks one understands after having it for a while. (And I wasn’t thinking about Agent Orange either time.)
