Here is the one hundred fifth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Republican CFPB appointee Mick Mulvaney. He is so honored for gutting the CFPB for Banksters.

Muting the core of the agency’s mission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under the controversial direction of Trump-appointed Mick Mulvaney has sidelined consumer protection and indicated "deregulation" is the forefront of its purpose.

The difference is displayed at the bottom of the most recent press releases from the agency.

The first image below shows the mission statement as it appears at the bottom of two pressreleases dated Dec. 21:

The second image is from the previous press release dated Nov. 24:

The new version puts "by regularly identifying and addressing outdated, unnecessary, or unduly burdensome regulations" first and also leaves out the word "fairly."…

The worst I can do is give this greedy Republican a parade, but I’m looking forward to following up when Elizabeth Warren responds to how he has turned her signature achievement into a device to make Banksters richer by screwing consumers.

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!

  1. A worthy candidate for sure.I’m sure that Ms. Warren will bring ‘Fire and Ice’ to the table to share with Mulvaney!

  2. Gag and Barf. And he has no legal right even to be there. He is the reason the law was written the way it was to keep him out.

  3. Excellent choice for The Parade, TomCat. Mick Mulvaney is nothing but a thief, stealing the name of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to mislead consumers into thinking there’s still a government bureau that has their interests at heart while it is in fact doing exactly the opposite. Another Republican scam.

It must be very hard to swallow for Elizabeth Warren to see her brainchild abused in this way, but perhaps it is time to build on a large and truly independent Consumer Agency which doesn’t depend on the whims of a particular government and is only committed to its clients, the consumers. The Dutch have such a “consumer union” and that works rather well because it has become big enough and trustworthy enough to be able to influence legislation and rule-making in the right direction. I’m sure America would be able to develop such a “union” and keep it out of the claws of Republicans and Banksters too, if it hasn’t done so already.

  4. As the U.S. becomes increasingly a laughingstock, we the people must increasingly rise up, RESIST & PERSIST! We are in for a long fight, and we have to keep up the pressure with petitions, phone calls, demonstrations, marches, meetings with elected officials, and so on. We need to support genuinely progressive candidates and lean hard on the Democrats to return to the party’s real roots. We may yet turn our country around by legal and peaceful means.

  5. Lord, I LOATHE Mulvaney!

Not as much as Tom Cotton – because he’s a scary right-wing M/F AND he WANTS to be president … but close.

  6. Good one, TC! He is the epitome of money-grubbers!
Have a GREAT holiday and hope the games are kind to you!
Merry Haha and to ALL a good time!

  7. An appropriate parade choice.  Republicans are raping and pillaging the country and the people, and Mulvaney is right there doing his part.  At best, he is an incompetent fool, someone to loathe as being totally unpatriotic, just like Drumpf. Bring on Elizabeth Warren!!!

  8. Thanks Hugs and Amen to all! ?‍

  9. A typical tDump choice!  May they both rot in Hell!
