[There’s a reason this will be just a little of this and a little of that. My medical license expires January 31, 2018 – but I have to earn all my CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits by December 31, 2017. And for the past decade or so I’ve earned all my credits by focusing on medical issues involving me or my family – no Pediatrics, all Internal Medicine. So it’s like going back to med school for me.]
[So I’m spending LOTS of time doing online IM education. And since it’s almost all new to me, it takes more time than if I just did Peds. But I’d much rather learn stuff that will be useful – and I really do enjoy it!]
Enough of my “The-dog-ate-my-homework” excuse. And fortunately we can almost always count on Twitler screwing up in new ways to provide grist for the mill – and he came through yet again.
To begin, I’ll stipulate that there’s nothing wrong with having dentures. My Mom has upper and lower dentures, and when we were kids, she’d sometimes take them both out for a laugh. She never spoke without them being in place, but apparently the Twitterverse has decided that Trump was having some denture problems (or maybe drugs or a stroke) during his “Jaroozhulum” speech this past week.
Of course, given my hearing loss, me writing about Trump’s apparent speech impediment is similar to Trump trying to be President – we both suffer from severe handicaps. So I’d be interested in your feedback.
This short clip has a good close-up of his mouth, and it does appear that he’s having problems with his lower dentures:
While people are wanting an explanation for why Trump was talking like this at the end, I want an explanation for the rest of his speech!

While California is being devastated by unimaginable wildfires, the video showing the pure anguish and desperation of a young man risking his own life to save a bunny rabbit will certainly tug at your heart strings …

I can’t believe that a man who has his toilet seat gold plated would be so cheap that he wore badly fitting dentures, but the thought is funny as hell. It looked like he had a terribly dry mouth to me and that could cause speech problems when the inside of his mouth stuck to his teeth. Any drug/medication that would cause that? A dry mouth is also a sign of anxiety or fear, but that would be too ironic: Drumpf being anxious for delivering a speech that sets the whole Middle East on fire and already has caused the first Palestinian to lose his life during a protest? Nahhh.
Glad you ended with the bunny rescue, Nameless. It tugged the heart strings of people around the world, our national 8 o’clock news featured it too. We’re all looking for some news that lifts our spirit these days, I think. Your Friday Fun always does the trick for me. Thank you.

Well, this is very timely for me. Hubby has been without teeth (and promised dentures) for over a year now. He was recently instructed to get cushioning, so maybe by July. Sigh. I will say he speaks surprisingly well without them.

I do not care if tDump has dentures, or not, but one way, or another, I am pretty damned sure he would not try to rescue anything from a fire…except, perhaps, his golden crapper!
The man putting his buns on the line to rescue a bunny renews my faith in humanity.
The toofless picture of Drumpf is priceless and spot on! It jives with his empty head! I believe that he does have a lower plate. It was as if he was trying to catch it before it came flying out of his mouth. If you watch him, he was also trying to suck them in as seen in his cheeks hollowing in. Years ago, I had a client whose teeth would move about and come out only to be dragged back in by his tongue. Peter looked just like Drumpf did. Drumpf is so vain, you’d never get an admission of dentures from him.
The bunny rescue is marvelous and priceless! What a guy to risk his own life like that.
