I could put in a couple of pictures with Thanksgiving essays from students at Kuppy Kakes Preppy School for kittens (KKPS) … but they’re almost as cute if I just quote them:
Jo Ann: I’z very thankful nobody rememberz what I DID lazt year
Andrew: I’z very thankfull dat mommy hazn’t fownd “IT” yet
I wish the best possible day – and coming holiday season – to everyone.
The more I read about the true story behind Thanksgiving, the less I am inspired to celebrate it. This year, being by myself – family scattered all over the globe, Grandma in assisted living and probably near the end, the circle of friends who used to get together for T-day having crumbled – had some fancy sushi and a couple bombers of craft beer while watching Untold Stories of the ER. (Lovely show to watch whilst you’re eating!)
I am thankful for the Internet, which allows Progressives like us to share news, create and sign petitions, organize actions, and so on.
I am thankful for Net Neutrality and the opportunity to protect it.
I am thankful for good health, reliable friends, and having enough money in the bank so I can go without work for a while.
I am thankful for my kitties, the offspring of an alley cat who was fortunate enough to find a nice human to adopt. That is how I acquired sweet Ragamuffin many years ago – she wandered into my house as if she owned the place, and a couple weeks later threw five kittens in my bathroom. I am thankful for Ragamuffin’s love and affection, and that she passed peacefully in her sleep so I didn’t have to go through the agony of having her “put to sleep.”
I could express gratitude for a lot more things, but I’d better stop there.
My best to all who comment here, with wishes for a Wonderful & Happy Day.
Thanks, Tom.
Yes, the actual story of the so-called “First Thanksgiving” is nothing like the sweet myth that has been created, and floated before all of us.
I am thankful for all of you with whom I have become acquainted. I am thankful for those close to me and for simply being. Namaste.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it.
I have been trying to be thankful for something or someone every day . . . not just one day a year. Today, I was thankful for who I have become. I think my faith is a big part of that. And I am very thankful for many more people and things.
Happy Thanksgiving, not the fairy tale Thanksgiving but the Thanksgiving of the heart.
“I can’t believe I ate more than the whole thing.” lol.
.
Thanks and Hugs to all!
