Let me apologize in advance if I’m short or make typos today. Between going out yesterday, trying to keep track of the news, and watching last night’s religious tragedy, I’m feeling very wiped out, but there’s work here that needs to be done.

From NY Times: A federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked a White House policy barring military service by transgender troops, ruling that it was based on “disapproval of transgender people generally.”
Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia found the administration’s justification for the ban, which was set to take effect in March 2018, to be suspect and likely unconstitutional. She ruled that the military’s current policy should remain in place.
“There is absolutely no support for the claim that the ongoing service of transgender people would have any negative effective on the military at all,” the judge wrote in a strongly worded, 76-page ruling. “In fact, there is considerable evidence that it is the discharge and banning of such individuals that would have such effects.”
Kudos to the judge! RESIST!!

8:36 Technically not a Hallowe’en theme – but SO DARK!
Oh, crap – religious agony! Hopefully you can lean on yesterday’s indictments to keep your “spirits” up. (Maybe the Broncos should grab Kap.)
WOW! This is yoooooge! I didn’t even know it was possible!
I loved Jeff Merkley’s Hallowe’en email!
Keith # 141 – Well, Nameless, Keith thinks it’s Christmas too. You are both in good company.
Trae – Such a good description of these defendants!
NYT – I hope we get a better administration whole we still have as many of these good judges as we do.
Cartoon – Of COURSE!
I knew that attorney client privilege does not apply whenever the lawyer has knowingly assisted their client to commit a crime or tort.
Jeff’s email was too fattening!
Well, there is that, but it was TOO cute.
True!
Oh, Joanne, who would have thought my day could be brighter?
Well, Mitch, allow me to brighten it a little more.
As you read this, pay careful attention to the names of the Republicans quoted, and the states the ones whose names you may not recognize are from.
I think they are covering their butts. Now, if he cans Mueller, they can throw their hands up, say they opposed it, and do nothing.
Well, of course, you may be right. No one can be sure of their motives but them – and they are so crooked they probably don’t even recognize their own motives.
We can know one thing. Regardless of intent, their motives are deplorable by definition.
Thanks for the additional huge news, Joanne
KO: WOW…gets better & better doesn’t it? I sure do like KO’s Christmas presents too!!
Trae: Spot on!! Love this guy!
NYT: Kudos to Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly on standing up to this ‘ban’. I stand with our Trans in the Military!
Cartoon: Absolutely!! I used to have a beautiful black cat years ago, and a couple days before Halloween I kept her in the house. (She liked to wander around..). They are just as lovable and cuddly as Calicos, Persians or Siamese or the Heinz 57 variety. I love them all.
Bummer about your guys, hope that you get some rest. Rest and relax, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
Well, got the chili going, and bags of candy for the little ones, family due over shortly. Happy Halloween ALL!!
Use that chili to punish Republicans!
Well, I guess this ain’t the Broncos’ year. C’est la vie.
I LOVE black cats, and I hope that the next time I am in the market for a cat I can get a pure black one from a shelter.
*Joanne, just read the DK link you put there. Holy Moly!!
The hole is getting bigger and deeper, for sure!
Thanks for this one.
Keith: How nice it is!
Trae: You go bro!
Hooray for the judge!
Keith Olbermann #141: Keith definitely has a point here; Mueller is planning this strategically and brilliantly. His “gifts” seem little and not up to our expectations, but he’s building up his cases from little fish to big fish and finally to the shark in a way that keeps that shark from firing him in order to stop the process. The downside of this is that Mueller has limited resources and the sharks will see to it that he won’t get any more. This will also limit the number of cases he can keep up in the air at the same time with the good team he has. If he has too many things going at the same time, chances are his prosecutors are spread thin and won’t be able to win from the “finest” legal aid shark money can buy. So he has to pace himself and we will all have to be very patient indeed.
Liberal Redneck: Even some in the South are celebrating Halloween with Mueller’s indictments.
NYT: Yes, Christmas comes early this year with another blow to Drumpf and his administration. It may be only a temporary blocking of banning military service by transgender troops, but Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly has done a fine job by putting it all down in a 76-page ruling, something which will not be overturned soon nor lightly in an appeal. Kudos to Colleen Kollar-Kotelly!
Cartoon: You can cross my path any way you like, all black or in tuxedo, TomCat.
I hope all the good news was able to make up for your Bronco’s loss a little, my coal-covered friend.
Thanks all. Overworked Hugs!
