Pat followed Politics Plus and commented for quite some time on Care2, where she has been active for years, she started commenting here at the site. A few months later, she won her first Big Mouth Award for the 78,000th comment in May 2016. She became a daily regular and won her second award for the 85,000th comment in December 2016. This is her third award. She is a progressive activist, an authentic Christian, and a Michael Moore Fan. If you tell her to go to hell, she’s likely to answer, “I already live there.” The poor girl is a Texan. On the other hand, she loves her Houston Texans. Her comments are still bright, witty and above all, compassionate. Please join me in piling on her with well-deserved congrats, kudos and praise.

Oh…Stop!No, really, Thank you for this Award. I’m humbled, and I learn every day, from Tom’s posts, and friends here who comment daily. It’s also, (to me), a respectful community, with same thoughts, and expressions. Sometimes, I laugh, sometimes I cry (or get choked up) at what folks write. It’s a rough world out there now, and everyday I pray for it to get better for all of us. I pray that we can continue to hold hands and hearts together, if only for a fleeting moment, and through it all, we can before we go to sleep, breathe a sigh of relief. That’s my hope, and my prayer. Thanks All, love ya all.

Yeah, there are days when I just want to pull the covers over me while in bed, and roll over. But!!!….it’s a new day, and whatever may or may not happen, I’m there to either fight, or embrace that situation. I’ve learned also, that it’s important to live one’s days to the fullest, and to find fulfillment in one’s dreams, and hopes.
Oddly, I’m surrounded by Republicans, (neighbors/teachers), I’ve tried talking to them about dt, and they think he’s doing a good job. I honestly and silently want to pull my hair out, when I listen to them. I . Don’t . Understand . Them! Soooooo, for good measure, I’ve decided to re-read Miss Manners ‘Guide to Excruciatingly Correct Behavior, and re-learn the difference (once again), between a ‘weak smile’, / ‘hollow laugh’. It’s hard being a Texan sometimes!!

Oh…..I doubt that my ‘ole lady’ charms will change some of these Texans, who remind me of ‘Yosemite Sam’ of yesteryear.
