From Exposed by CMD: A new study of registered voters in Dane and Milwaukee Counties who did not vote in the 2016 presidential election found that approximately 17,000-23,000 eligible voters in those counties were prevented or deterred from voting by Wisconsin’s voter ID law. Due to financial constraints, the social scientists were only able to do a study of two of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, but the authors say that extrapolating statewide as many as 45,000 people stayed home because of the law.
Donald Trump won the state of Wisconsin by only 22,000 votes, the first GOP presidential victory in the state since Ronald Regan in 1984. The shocking upset garnered national attention and helped deliver the electoral college to Trump as the popular vote went to Clinton.
Republicans plan to establish a permanent, fascist Republican Reich in which elections exist for show only, because Republicans would control who may vote, and who may not! RESIST!!

EbC: I learned on several occasions that, just before the midterm elections in Georgia, more than 40,000 names “mysteriously” vanished from the rolls. Granted, some of that could be legitimate purging to remove the names of those who had died or moved. However, I would like to know if more names were purged from Democrat-leaning or mostly minority districts.

I don’t know whether anyone besides me is following Ken Burns’ “The Vietnam War.” Last night was the 9th of 10 episodes, and included the 1972 conventions and elections. Seconding the nominatio of McGovern was a POW wife, Valerie Kushner (no relation I looked), who believed McGovern would not only bring home her husband, but would “bring America home.” It struck me as maybe the response we need to “Make America great again.” Because that slogan has gotten our nation so far away from its ideals and principles that we need to be brought back home.

Liberal Redneck – Boy, does Trae ever have a handle on respect. Yes, all those right wing nationalists who wear the flag are in violation of the flag code. Further, anyone kneeling during the national anthem or the pledge is NOT in vioation of the flag code.

Keith Olbermann: Keith is right of course, despite all their attempts to stay neural, apolitical and about sports only, the Pittsburgh Penguins have been kidnapped by Drumpf and made into political pawns by his tweets. He has abused their acceptance of the invitation and turned this from an innocent visit to the White House and the president – any president! – into a visit in support of this particular resident who will see this and flaunt this as the love of the best ice-hockey team in the world for the best president in the world. Undoubtedly there are some players who have no trouble with this and, as you say, TomCat, they should go. But those that do have problems with being used this way should be allowed to refuse. We can only hope that the majority will make the choice to decline and have their choice accepted by the team, but it is likely that Drumpf has once again managed to divide a group of people.

About Drumpf’s base and “fellow” Rednecks: “…you can’t stand it when they kneel because you want them laying down. That’s all it is.” His way of chastising Drumpf and his base right from their own perspective is absolutely superb.
CMD: Shocking, there’s no other word for it. From earlier studies it is known that these approx. 45,000 voters who were kept from voting by Wisconsin’s voter ID law most likely would not have voted for Drumpf. It becomes clearer by the day that Drumpf (and GOP Congressmen) would not have won his (and their) election without help from Russia and unconstitutional state voter laws. And what is even more shocking that this knowledge hardly seems to matter anymore. Drumpf is in the Oval Office and has appointed the worst administration and judicature in history, the GOP has the majority in Congress and together they are changing the face of America for decades to come. And with that, the face and the future of this planet.
