It’s a super muggy day here in Portland, and we have four cool days starting tomorrow. Tomorrow is a holy day and I shall be meditating upon the Ellipsoid Orb. My Broncos are hosting the Cowboys in the afternoon game, but it will not be televised here. I play Pam in our fantasy football league, which she leads, and she’s going to be damn tough to beat. May the Ellipsoid Orb shine it’s holy light on your team, unless they are known for cow pucky!
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 3:08 (average 4:38). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): Sen. Jeff Merkley Backs Medicare for All
Amen Jeff! Oregon leads the way! RESIST!!
From The New Yorker: In his most stunning deal yet with Democratic leaders, Donald Trump agreed on Friday to be impeached by the end of 2017.
Emerging from an Oval Office meeting with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a beaming Trump touted the deal for his imminent removal from office.
“Chuck and Nancy and I got a deal done on impeachment,” Trump said. “It was a good deal and it was a fast deal.”
Trump said that the Democrats had convinced him that agreeing to be impeached would make him soar in popularity. “People are going to love me for doing this,” Trump said. “They’re going to love it on all the channels.”
LOL Andy! He’s dumb enough, but Lyin’ Ryan would balk, unless he could impeach Pence too. RESIST!!
From The Rachel Maddow Show: Pence, up to his neck in Russia scandal, losing press secretary
Rachel Maddow looks at the growing list of White House departures, adding Mike Pence’s press secretary to the list, and noting the striking number of lies Pence has told about aspects of the Trump Russia scandal.
Pence is clearly guilty of Obstruction of Justice and much more. If we can just win the House next year, we can remove the Reich from power. RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
3:49 I got tied up, but not as much as I thought I would.
YT/MO – I believe there are 16 co-sponsors. I’m glad Move On is featuring Jeff.
TNY – Actually, that’s probably exactly what the reality looks like to the hat-burning MAGA-ers.
RMS – Pence is guilty of a whole s**tload of crimes. And Mueller knows that too.
Cartoon – Isn’t that just how they think! (At that, appropriate seawalls might not be a bad idea – except that it’s already too late.)
YT/MO: YES!
New Yorker: Again, yes! His popularity would soar! He could go around and hold his idiot rallies, and claim that he actually did “Make America Great!” But, he’d have to take Pence with him, Ryan, McConnell….
Rachel: Speaking of Pence!!!
MO: WTG, Mr. Merkley!
NYer: Well….that sure would make New Year’s Eve a memorable moment, wouldn’t it??
RM: Ahhh….Pence. What a sneaky lying snake this man is. ““I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.”― Friedrich Nietzsche
Cartoon: Nope. Not gonna happen.
We won! the Thursday game. Hope your guys go for the win vs. Cowboys!! It was hot (here), today too. Hope it cools down some. It would be nice to set out back w/o all the mosquitoes too. Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
Congrats!
Puzzle — 3:42 I was roped into something but I am not sure just what!
Move On — AMEN!!! The stress of figuring out medical coverage just makes people sicker, as do the high costs. Of course the current medical system is disproportionately hard on middle income, working class and poor people. Universal healthcare for all. BTW, two tier systems do not work particularly well as those in universal care often get bumped by user pay patients.
The New Yorker — The thoughts of Charles and Nancy rolling Drumpf again is so cool! I can just see the ball at Times Square falling at midnight with Drumpf under it. Perfect ending to the most imperfect presidency.
TRMS — Don’t you just love those “Christian” values that Pence espouses! He should be swinging from the same tree as Drumpf and for very similar reasons! Can’t happen soon enough.
Cartoon — Republicans do love their walls!
MO: Three cheers for Oregon’s Jeff Merkley!
TNY: Andy, you may just have found the answer to the prayers of all sane Americans. Let’s hope Schumer and Pelosi read this too and now know how to approach this deal with Drumpf. By the end of 2017, Mueller will have had enough time to wrap up everyone around Drumpf, including Pence and the two GOP leaders and 2018 can start with a clean slate except for the “next in line” still standing at that time.
Rachel Maddow: It seems that media are now pretty secure in their assessment that Mueller has enough ammunition to take Drumpf and his ilk down soon (although they keep adding facts as the section that followed showed) so now they’re targeting Pence as the next in line after Drumpf. Excellent. Mueller can’t stop at Drumpf and his entourage, but must make sure that Pence goes down too to rid the country from this vile team. Perhaps he can also find dirt on GOP leaders, but, as you say, TomCat, it is up to the American voter to rid the country of this plague.
Hope your Broncos win even thou the game isn’t televised in Portland, TomCat. Happy meditations.
Jim’s comment is why we need ti wait until 1/2019 and win the House first.
We certainly may have to, and we must be prepared to wait, but there are other possible scenarios.
What are the other possible scenarios?
I’d also like to hear the other options.

Designated survivor
The practice of naming a designated survivor originated during the Cold War with its risk of nuclear attack. In 1947, the Presidential Succession Act established a clear line of succession for the president, but the idea of the designated survivor was part of an action plan to ensure that one of the potential successors is in a secure location. The only limitation was that the designated survivor must be constitutionally qualified to assume the office of president.
Note: The name, designated, changes per event.

Personal comment: Do we really want any of these people on the list to become POTUS…
.
No!
Thanks all! Hugs!
