I slept poorly again last night, because of the heat and extreme humidity. In fact, I overslept this morning, so I missed my nap. Today, I was able to turn off the AC for the first time in weeks. I may be able to leave it off, as long as the sun does not hit the wall. I expect Store to Door to deliver groceries within an hour, so there’s no point in trying to nap until this afternoon. It may be October, before I’m caught up on my sleep deficit.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 2:56 (average 4:57). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From YouTube (GQ Channel): Robert Mueller is Zeroing in on Trump’s Cover Up
How wonderful! Trump’s blood is in the water, and Mueller is a shark. RESIST!!
From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): Hotter Seas & Bigger Storms
The Republican position is that this is not an appropriate change to discuss climate change. What more appropriate time could there be? RESIST!!
From The New Yorker: The pornography industry has likely suffered permanent damage as a result of its unfortunate association with the Texas senator Ted Cruz, industry sources said on Tuesday.
Porn, which takes in annual profits of fifteen billion dollars, could see those revenues decimated if, as some industry experts fear, users begin to have intrusive thoughts involving Senator Cruz.
“For porn producers, this is a crisis with no simple solution,” Harland Dorrinson, an industry insider, said. “If you warn viewers not to think about Ted Cruz, there’s a real danger that that’s all they’ll think about.”
In the hours since porn first became associated with the Texas senator, traffic to porn sites has plummeted in what industry sources are ruefully calling “the Cruz effect.”
Dang Andy! I’m no connoisseur of porn, but seeing Cruz cavorting with his TRUS would cause my kitty dingles to retreat and not come out again for months!! RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
4:46 Hope you have freezer space, unless Squatch can save him.
Keith # 120 – Of course Keith is right that Mueller doesn’t need to prove ALL of it and that he already has enough to prove SOME of it – enough to establish a crime. I am hoping for more, and I believe Mueller is building for more.
YT/MO – They’ve been getting away with that “not an appropriate time” crap sice forever on guns – and other things. To me, trying to apply the tactic to climate change is a dead giveaway of how much a ploy it really is, and not at all meant to spare anyone’s feelings, except theirs.
TNY – Many people have suffered intense emtional stress, up to and even including PTSD, just from reading or hearing a sentence which contained the words “Ted,” “Cruz,” and “sex.” Nausea, too.
Cartoon – And good for her!
Update – On Squatch’s Open Thread there was a short take on an indigenous slaughter incident, and I remarked I had not yet heard about it from Amazon Watch. Well, I now have (although this may be a different one -they are way too common), and they have a vehicle to complain to the government.
Small piece of good news this afternoon: Shkreli’s bail revoked !!!
KO: All liars in the dt camp, getting exposed by Mr. Mueller. Good news!!
MO: With each warning and alarm, people still go about their business, oblivious to what the scientists are telling us about with climate changes and the warming, and warnings from the earth.
New Yorker: Talk about a ‘pie in the face’ for the nefarious Cruz…meanwhile he’s blamed it all on his staff for ‘liking’ on Twitter.
Gotta run, go pick up my student. 🙂
Thanks, Tom, and have a great evening!
Keith Olbersonn #120: Keith is going strong, as always. All we can do is wait on Mueller while Drumpf has the Republican henchmen and henchwomen installed as judges, irritates North Korea and a lot of other foreign countries, and will drive his tax cuts through, even if it is the last thing he does. Let’s hope it is.
MO: “Now is the time to discuss Climate Change” will be chiselled on the tombstones of Republicans drowned in the next “the biggest ever” hurricane that hits the South.
TNY: Porn: another industry brought to its knees by Republicans. LOL Andy.
Cartoon: Three cheers for Margaret Chase Smith!
Apparently some intrepid photographer captured the exact moment that the Ted Cruz “Like” of porn on Twitter … hmmm … errr … “climaxed”.
(All together now: “EWWWWWWWWW!!!”)
And to think THEY think gays are icky. Clearly, just more projection. Barf.
For EWWW factor, check out today’s Open thread!
Keith: C’mon Bobby!
MO: And, I have seen the results of glacier melting first hand, at the Mendenhall glacier, where there is a lake of meltwater extending for some large distance, down to where the glacier itself used to have its terminus!
New Yorker: Ted Cruz, the name just oozes porn.
Thanks all! Hugs!!
Puzzle — 4:01 As JD says, I hope you have freezer space because that is way too much birdie for one meal!
YouTube — It seems that the cast of characters in the Drumpf administration (past and present) and the Drumpf campaign are doing Mueller’s work, or at least part of it, for him, albeit unintentional. The timing of Mueller’s trip to the House committee on the Judiciary will be interesting speculation for now. It could be pivotal for Republicans as the 2018 midterms roll in. My guess is that there will be a lot of Drumpf deniers by then. There will probably be more Drumpf deniers than there are climate deniers. Go sharks!
YouTube — Further proof that Republicans (and any climate change deniers) only see further money making opportunities and don’t give a rat’s ass for people. More destruction means more reconstruction opportunities, more retail opportunities as people need to replace some things. More people injured or ill as a result means increased need for outrageously priced medical services and drugs. Call me a cynic if you like, but that is how I see it.
The New Yorker — So that’s why Cruz is saying it was a staffer and not him — he wants the industry profits to soar. Sex trade workers are organising because of Ted Cruz.
Cartoon — Margaret Chase Smith would be an inspiration to my generation. I remember building a “fort” in the woods with a new friend in Vancouver in 1969. We called it “Girl Power” and had a big sign on it saying so. What a time being 17 years old.
Sorry I’m late. I said this week was busy and yesterday was the worst. I left the house at 930 hours and did not get home until 2030 hours. I was so tired that I ate and then went to bed. Man, did I sleep well last night!
