I’m back from the dentist, have three teeth left, am $315 lighter, and am mumbling and sucking gauze. I really needed this!
On Care2 the Glitch Monster seems to be in charge of news. Trying to open an individual C2NN article in Firefox, most of the page whites out. After about a minute, I get a message saying a website is slowing down my browser, and asking me to wait or stop it. After choosing stop it, I can interact with the page without difficulty. Chrome does not work at all, and neither does Edge, so Firefox is the only way to get in.

Keith # 117 – “Unstable.” In a Fox News poll. (That’s the Fox on the right, by the way. But the Fox on the left has made it pretty clear that he agrees.) But to me it’s less tha raw number of Fox viewers who call him “unstabe” that worries me. It’s how many of them STILL SUPPORT HIM AS PRESIDENT. OK, I have screamed, I’ll shut up now. Sort of.

KO: I almost passed on watching Keith, believing that Rumpy is “BIGLY” unstable, was about to cite the view of the American Psychological Association, that the Goldwater Rule no longer bears relevance. It is my belief that it no longer bears relevance because Rumpy’s actions, and statements, on Twitter, and elsewhere, make it more than evident that he is out to lunch. Still, I thought, it might be entertaining to see what Keith had to say on the subject. Well, he is spot on! He whom I have long called “The Empty Orange,” because there is no substance to him psychologically, entertains delusions that would fill a psychiatric hospital’s file to virtually overbrimming! Ok, maybe that was a bit hyped up, but not by much. That a Faux News poll found him “unstable” is amazing, in and of itself. I’m a mental health professional, practicing psychotherapist, licensed, and have been since licensing first took effect, in my state, and I am in the odd position, now, of agreeing with a majority of Fox News poll respondents. Aye Chihuahua!!

Because he is as unstable as he is, because he is all wrapped up in nothing but his vacuum, he would not, for one holy moment, think of asking whatever he refers to as a higher power, if he can even conceive of the idea of something being equal to, or above, him, for compassion, for considering the needs, or welfare, of anyone else! My guess is that he’s sitting there thinking to himself “What fools these mortals be to entrust me with the care of anything but my most bigly wonderful navel!”
This atheist will not suddenly “find” god, if Mar-a-lgo is destroyed. He will thank the random forces that rule the universe for being just that, and “allowing ” Irma to be forever remembered for doling out her power with no regard for wealth, or position. That’s what these things do, they blow up, and they blow out, wherever! Another side of this situation is my wish that Irma, if she does do serious damage to Rumpy’s playhouse, will forever shut up, SILENCE, the damned religious bigots who somehow have the gall to tell everyone that they know why their god visited an “evil” Houston, (gay mayor, for instance) or some other location with devastation.

In the meantime my thoughts have been with all people and sentient beings struck by Irma, from the moment she started her rampage across the Caribbean, leaving death and total devastation in her wake, headed for Florida. That state was one of the first to be affected by climate change by scientists and sadly they’re not far wrong. My heart goes out to everyone affected by its terrible consequences.

I can understand a professional not being able to comment for ethical reasons, but for the average person or news organisations in the US being afraid to comment makes no sense. Drumpf is an ambulance chaser — quick to sue — but not talking about what is so evident to the average person is nuts. This idiot will get the entire world blown up or wiped out by gigantic storms. All In — Yes JD, there is a petition on Care2 to rename Irma to Ivanka. I also worry about the non Republicans friends in Florida. Dandelion for one, appears to be right in the storms path. For Drumpf and Republicans cancelling Florida’s flood insurance, all I can say other than “despicable bastards!” is Karma can be a bitch!what goes around comes around.
Cartoon — I read today that the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants have cancelled its swimsuit portion and instead, the contestants wear activewear. Apparently this is the general direction of the Miss Universe organisation. Obviously, Drumpf has nothing to do with it anymore. If he did, the swimsuit contest would still be in.
Well a trip to the dentist is no fun at all, especially for a broken tooth. Been there, done that! But at least the pain will end very shortly. With any luck though, the temps there should cool off! We were supposed to have a light rain this evening and over night but that seems to be delayed. Having said that, it does smell like rain. Humidity is 88% and rain for sure tomorrow and Saturday. I’ll believe it when I see it. And that glitch monster at Care2, numerous people have reported it and I added your advice re FireFox. Eric has filed a bug for it.
It’s changed a bit. Now the page is frozen by a bad script, until a requester pops up. Stars still don’t work. It seems the the more they try to control what we do, the more they screw up everything everyone does.

He seems pissed that people are bitching about it. That’s out of order. I tried to debug the script, and it may be originating in a buggy ad. I know I’m gutting frustrated, and they are losing people right and left.
As far as I can tell, Eric is he ONLY person trying to keep the sire functioning. I try to save my anger for management which fails to support him as he needs to be supported. That said, if there’s only one person, you don’t have people running around trying things that others already know don’t work – so there’s that. Also, it may be that solar flares from huge, unexpected sunspots are a factor, in which case it would be beyond anyone’s control.
I hate Firefox with a passion, but I have installed it on my laptop for a workaround (although it is working about a third as fast as IE).
In that case, I defer to your superior knowledge of the inner workings of Care2. I’m just frustrated, because it seems that the Glitch Monster is their principal Community Relations Officer.
Oh, Lord, I am frustrated too. I brought up the sun storms because Care2 isn’t the only thing that isn’t working – I am also having issues with yahoo – not with mail, but with the notepad. After the opera is over today (Aida from San Francisco) I think I’ll try Opera (pun intended). Is anyone on a Mac? How ia Safari coping?
No MAC here. They cost too much and do too little.
