I’m having another busy day. I just spent over an hour on the phone with a health plan pharmacist doing my annual prescription review. I had a bunch of paperwork to catch-up. Wendy is coming this evening, and as muggy as it has been, I’m shower-ready.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 4:06 (average 4:37). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From YouTube (GQ Channel): Who’s Backing Away From Trump? Everyone. | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann
This was good overall, but Keith is out of date on Icahn and including Komen in a list of "not villains" is absurd. RESIST!!
From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): Clapper on Trump’s Disturbing Speech
I have thoroughly disagreed with Clapper at times, but this time, he could not be more spot-on. RESIST!!
From YouTube (Funny or Die Channel): HOW TO TELL IF SOMETHING IS A PROTEST with David Alan Grier
Sadly, that’s too damn true about this Republican Reich, and Republicans have murdered too many Black people for this to be funny. RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
4:55 Well, I wouldn’t eat it, but Mother Jones says we should be grinding them up and feeding them to livestock – and I have to say I’d feel better about that than about livestock eating M&Ms.
Petition to FCC regarding Sinclair
If anyone wants to do a whole lot of reading …
Keith # 111 – Well – Komen is definitely a villain – but that kind of makes it worse, doesn’t it? And then I see he has the “RESIST” resignation letter, but not the “IMPEACH” resignation letter yet.
Clapper – I haven’t always agreed with Clapper either, but I’ve never seen him as a blind follower. I agree this is spot on.
FoD – Oh, this is absolutely true. I don’t know how he can even say it without needing a barf bag alert. Very talented and creative!
Cartoon – That big, and that destructive, and it still can’t kill any actual flies. Sad.
KO: I’m seeing the light at the end of this tunnel…a lot of folks are seeing that too. Thank the Lord.
MO: Well said, Mr. Clapper.
FOD: Word. Talent abounds, haven’t seen him in awhile, very good point.
Cartoon: ugh!
We had rain today. (what’s that??). Hurricane Harvey, category 3, is due in tomorrow night. Go from drought to floods. Sigh. Hope you have a relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
Please take care!
Seen on CNN, while at the gym: a headline stating that a former CIA Chief is questioning Trump’s emotional stability and competence! No kidding, Sherlock!!
Man. These day, ya couldn’t swing a dead cat, (sorry, TC) and not hit someone that is distancing themselves from Drumpfenfarten! He needs to have to run thru the 25th amendment NOW! Pence may be nuts but at least he knows how government is supposed to run! I don’t know about that tho! His views on LGBTQ rights has me very SCARED!
Still wondering when the draft is gonna happen. I hope I’m not tied up with my husband’s skin cancer surgery then. We are just waiting for the results of his biopsy as to what road is gonna be taken.
Take care, TC! Get spritzed and fluffed and tell Wendy we all say, “HOWDY!”
Viv, I replied yesterday and sent you an email this morning. Good luck to hubby!
Keith Olbermann #111: It’s somehow soothing to hear Keith read out a long list of individuals and organizations that are backing away from Drumpf. But backing away and isolating Drumpf isn’t enough, he needs to go. Because insane ideas like postponing the 2020 elections could just be acceptable enough to Republicans to save their own sorry asses. Although perhaps they rather postpone the 2018 elections.
MO: Clapper has been critical of some of Drumpf’s actions lately, but has now joined the multitudes that condemn him as president and individual.
FOD: Indeed to true to be funny. And soon any anti-Drumpf protest will be called a riot. What’s that?…Oh, Faux News is already doing that now?
Cartoon: Doesn’t help much if they can’t shoot straight.
Puzzle — 3:53 That is one ugly bug! The purple flower though is a vision of beauty!
YouTube — My first thought just looking at the header on the video was “like rats from a sinking ship”! And I don’t think I would be wrong. Rats leave a sinking ship with the thought of self preservation. That would certainly fit the likes of Republicans — flee before the stench of Drumpf rubs off. In the case of Icahn, I think it is preservation of ill gotten gains, although that may not make a difference if there is an investigation which I hope there is. As to the charities which cancelled events at Mar-a-lago, again it is self preservation — disassociation with Drumpf businesses and not upsetting their donors. Of course Eric Trump’s charity would remain since he is already tainted by the stench. I agree that the charities leaving Mar-a-lago will probably tick off Drumpf the most because that is $s in the bank. How many will Drumpf try to sue for breach of contract?
Move On — “… complete intellectual, moral and ethical void that the president of the United States exhibits … how much longer does this country … endure this nightmare?” — Clapper is spot on!
Funny or Die — “Sadly, that’s too damn true about this Republican Reich, and Republicans have murdered too many Black people for this to be funny.” — Amen!!!
Cartoon — Ain’t that the truth!!! . . . a little bit of overkill!
If you’re staying busy then you’re staying out of trouble. Me, trouble found me today. I had an enjoyable lunch with a group of ladies and then had a visit from Montezuma for the rest of the day. That meant no teaching so no fabulous Persian dinner. There is next week though. Sorry about yesterday’s articles — I kept getting the message “PoliticsPlus.org is not responding.” so finally gave up. I’ve commented on the lead article and hope to comment on the OT later.
Hope your Republicosis is better.
When I get that message more than once – on any site – for me it seems any site can do it – I close down every browser window and start over. That usually works. Sometimes I have to close everything and re-open without add-ons, but not with Politics Plus. Yet.
Thanks all. Pooped Hugs!
