It’s that time of week again, and I’m happy to share three excellent video clips and one so-so clip from Bill’s show last night. Enjoy!!
"There was violence on both sides in WWII, and we were still the good guys!" Love it! Trump sunk low enough to dry up a Russian hooker!
Al Franken, Giant of the Senate
If, as Al suggests, there are Republicans willing to work in ways that benefit the American people, I encourage cooperating with them on those items, ONLY. However, I’ll believe it, when I see it.
Trump would love the statue of him, but all they would really need to piss off Republicans is a statue of Hillary.
New Rule: When Bipartisanship Goes Wrong
This was not one of his better efforts, but I agree that fat shaming is OK, when it’s fat between Republicans’ ears.
OK! Recess is over!
RESIST!!

Love Al Franken, he’s wonderful !!
Thanks, for all the videos!
Bill I – Well said indeed. I assume you saw the SNL interview with Washington and Jefferson, since Bill brought that up?
Now, if only we could get those people in those Trump counties to believe it’s a sign we should impeach Trump.
Bill II – Al Franken is for sure a national treasure. And also no dummy. (Just an aside, as long as their base is also his base, they will never desert him, for sure). Bipartisan? Yes, as long as it doesn’t show. I have it on good authority that, when it comes to Colorado matters, our Colorado delegation can work bipartisanly with the exception of one representative (mine, of course). But no, it doesn’t show. In advertising, each will claim they worked on it without mentioning that the other party did too. Back to the subject, Al is a person I wouldn’t mind seeing on the 2020 ticket.
Bill III – Oh man, I love the Colin Kaepernick one!
Bill IV – Agree, not the best. My feeling is appearance is fair game if it’s a choice. Like the woman who had all that plastic surgery to look like a cat. Fat – we know so little about why it is at all, why it has different causes in different people – what the effect is of weight bouncing up and down like a yo-yo – and yet everyone thinks that he or she knows EVERYTHING. But even if we did know everything, even if it’s within everyone’s power to change their weight, it is within NO ONE’s power to change their weight TODAY. It’s not like making fun of a hair style. Generally speaking, I think anything within someone’s power is fair game.
Good point!
Bill Maher #1: Drumpf is holding a rally in Phoenix, to cheer himself up, during the eclipse. And after that his enablers are going to tell him that there were 3 million people there.
Bill Maher #2: Al Franken is right in saying that he can work together with some Republican on some topic. But that’s only the case when talking about an individual Republican going along on one very specific topic. If you’d put in a matrix, there would be very few dots in there, very thinly spread and nothing connecting them. And Al Franken knows that; his example of his Republican co-legislator making a run for it when Al joked the next one would be about mixed marriage free abortions clearly demonstrates that. Franken knows that at this point in time bipartisanship in legislation from writing a bill right up to the vote is an illusion.
Bill Maher #3: But to piss off Republicans it would suffice just to put up those statues in their towns of people, especially of women, who really deserve a statue, like JAane Addams, Rosa Parks, or Betty Friedan. Downside would be that they’d also need to put up a plaque explaining who they are and why a statue was put up for them, because most Republicans/Drumpfians would never have learned about them in school.
Bill Maher #4: His guests weren’t all that amused by his fat-shaming litany either, but the rest of his take on “bipartisan” where the left and the right oppose something, but for completely different, often opposite reasons was rather funny.
Enjoyed the whole show! The best was Al Franken being mentioned for 2020! We gotta get some new meat in the game if we are to succeed as a country.
Enjoyed them all! The discussion with Al Franken was especially good. But like Lona, the funniest part IMO was the comment about the rally in Phoenix on Tuesday. When the area goes dark because of the solar eclipse, Drumpf’s people are going to tell him that there were 3 million people there. As an aside to that Phoenix gig, the mayor of Phoenix asked Drumpf not to come because of the Charlottesville fallout but Drumpf is going to hold his rally anyway. Not only that, he may pardon Arpaio at the rally, which in my mind is just further proof that Drumpf is a racist and bigot.
Thanks and hugs to all!
