Rectumites React

Supporters of Putin’s Pervert, Donald Trump, and the Republican Rectum Reich, just earned their label: Rectumites.  It turns out that they had a Twitter fit over what they perceived to be liberal news personalities criticizing the Fuhrer and his policies, but they were so wrong!

0708Declaration

For 29 years, National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” has celebrated the Fourth of July with a reading of the Declaration of Independence by hosts, reporters, newscasters and commentators.

This historically uncontroversial testament to the nation’s founding document proved uncontroversial-no-more in the year 2017.

After NPR tweeted the Declaration line by line, Donald Trump backers, seemingly unaware of the source document, accused the media organization of playing partisan politics.

“So, NPR is calling for a revolution,” Twitter user @JustEsrafel wrote.

“Propaganda is that all you know?” another asked…

It’s hard to find anything to add to that.  What do you do when dealing with people that are so very stupid?  Remember they vote.  Remember that, God help us, they reproduce!

  1. Historically uncontroversial, yes.  But at the time is really was a partisan document.  They were not kidding about pledging their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.  Remember (from memory so probably not 100% accurate) “We must all hang together, else we shall assuredly all hang separately!”  Siblings were against siblings, parents and chidren were opposed – Ben Franklin never after spoke to his own son (who had to move to England for his own protection).

Also, this is hardly the first time in our history as a nation that we have been so polarized as a people –

  2. Kudos to NPR!! re: Ids: Who da thunk??? Unbelievable!!!

  3. That our Declaration of Independence pisses off the Trumpkins explains a great deal.

Joanne noted it in her Raw Story link yesterday, and Daily Kos had a Diary/Post about it today.

(I might as well get some more mileage out of that graphic I made yesterday, since I know it pisses them off …)

    • It’s gotten a lot of attention, and deservedly so.  (Love the graphic, incidentally – or, not so incidentally.)  And the McCarthy connection is also telling.

      • Thanks.

Made it in a Word document because I wanted to tone down the transparency of the picture – more of a watermark type effect.  Couldn’t do it in just Paint, and Gimp is just too cumbersome (for me) – so I resorted to Word.  And it was a nice learning lesson for me.

Plus adding text to a Word insert photo is much easier than most other options – at least for me.

  4. Well Drumpf did say he loves the uneducated.  He insults them and them love him for doing so.  Go figure.  To repeat what I said in the OT, “Stupid is as stupid does.”  I think there are a lot of people who need to take American History 101 and a civics class.

  5. Isn’t it ironic dat Drumpfians don’t recognize the text of the document they love to refer to when it comes to “their freedom”. When they actually see it they think it is left-wing agitation against a tyrant. Uhm…come to think of it, it was at the time, wasn’t it. A manifesto written by enlightened, well educated men against the tyranny of mad George III. And apparently it still has that power.02

  6. “Stupid is as stupid does!”  Again, this is why the GOPigs want to do away with the Dep’t of Education: “Keep ’em dumb and stupid, and we can pull ‘e by the nose, any time!”
If there is a hell, McCarthy ought o be in it, alongside Hitler, and more of those fucking beauties!

  7. Thanks all.  Hurried hugs! 29
