Mitch McConnell (R-KY), aka Bought Bitch Mitch, and the Republican Party have released the Senate version of RepubliCare. It’s easy to explain. Are you rich? Are you a senior? Are you disabled? Do you have a pre-existing condition? Are you poor? If you answered no to the first question, and yes to any of the rest, Bought Bitch Mitch and the Republican Party are trying to kill you.
After throwing a celebratory garden party outside the Oval Office with all those white guys in suits who passed an Obamacare repeal plan that would take away the healthcare of 24 million Americans, President Trump seems to have had a change of heart. He began characterizing the scheme as “mean” and urged Senate Republicans to be more generous and less hardhearted as they recrafted the House bill.
Well, now that Senate GOP rewrite has been released from the backroom secrecy in which it was drafted under the guidance of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, it appears no one really paid any attention to what Trump had to say. McConnell turns out to be just as mean as Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
The Senate Republican bill would take away billions of dollars from Medicaid, the government health insurance program for the poor, and spend that money on a big tax break for wealthy people. The bill would also sharply reduce subsidies that help low-income folks purchase health insurance. In these and most other ways, the Senate measure is not radically different from the House version of the American Health Care Act which, according to polls, is deeply unpopular with more than 80% of voters…
From <LA Times>
Since Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten has tweeted his approval of Senate RepubliCare, he takes his seat at the head of the Republican death panel.
Chris Hayes explained why the bill is the polar opposite of what Trump and the Republicans promised.
It was all a lie!
Rachel Maddow gives is the most in-depth coverage I’ve seen.
Kudos to ADAPT!
Do you want to save the millions on the Republican hit list?
RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
This affects us all. it’s a debacle, and people–young, elderly, disabled, are going to to suffer! Who is sam hill can afford medical care anymore, let alone the deductible/premiums? This is going to skyrocket.
Then they turn around and have a party in the Rose Garden? I’m incensed by this.
Just found this, interesting piece of info re: McConnell in his younger years. Talk about hypocrisy!!

What a hypocrite!
That is an understatement!!!!!
McTurtle is a HYPRCRITE!!!!! He has a PhD (piled higher and deeper) in hypocrisy!
Anyone who had thought that McConnell was a nicer guy than Ryan needs to go on anti-psychotic meds!!
Lies, and lies, and lies, and lies, and lies, and lies, and lies, and lies…, need I say it again?
We went to and restaurant, earlier this evening, and the place mat theme was “Presidents of the United States,” and there it was, history as the future will have to live with, impeachment, or not: The face of the Empty Orange, forever enshrined…. I moved what would have been my placemat out of the way.
Let me guess – you put it upside down until you could take it with you to the rest room to use it.
Having been expecting this, I can’t be shocked. There may – just MAY – be four Republican Senators willing to vote “no” on it (we would need three). I emailed my Republican Senator that I probably shouldn’t tell him this, since I want nothing more than to see him stomped by a Democrat in 202, but that he would be smart to vote no on this bill and then present himself as a hero.
I know for a fact the Republicans are trying to kill me – however I may thwart them – through one prior employer I have a health benefit (an HSA that they put everything and I put nothing into) that will reimburse me in full for just about everything out of pocket. I am well aware that that is the result of no planning or work on my part, just dumb luck having been in the right place at the right time, but I sure am grateful, and wish everyone had the same.
I am grateful for the insurance I have, we would have been bankrupt following my heart surgery if it had not paid so well. I know I probably won’t have the same coverage after this bill is passed. I have tried to call McConnell’s office several times, can never get a call through. I despise him and all he stands for, don’t know how he can call himself a human.
Sorry as I am that your health surgery was needed, yet I am glad beyond description that you had it when you did, and aren’t going to need it now.
The Canadian system is not perfect, no healthcare system is 100% for 100% of the people. But Obamacare, as imperfect as it is, is a step in the correct direction. I want at least the equal to the Canadian system for Americans. Now the Republicans are about to “murder” in essence 23 million Americans with their money grab for corporations and the wealthy. Rachel interviewed Sen Chris Murphy of Connecticut in the piece after the ADAPT one. He and Sen Richard Blumenthal are holding a town hall meeting in Connecticut to discuss the Republican healthcare bill that McTurtle released.
So Drumpf has signalled that he is in favour of the Republican healthcare plan that McTurtle and his boys have designed. It goes 100% against all his healthcare and social service promises he made during the campaign. I predict that the shit is going to fly!!!
Resist and Persist!!!!!
It was clear from the start what Republicans what it would mean for the healthcare of 90% of Americans when they promised to get rid of this
The writing has been on the wall for years and yet people continued to vote for Republicans and to this very day still do. The outcry against this draconian plan is nothing more than that, heartfelt outcry, but most people do not feel the effects just yet, and therefore are difficult to mobilize, just as they are difficult to mobilize to vote in their own interest. And the GOP is so incredibly devious, pushing the date of implementation of those parts that are going to hurt most past the 2018 midterm election, some even past the 2020 presidential election, so most will have spent all the outrage they can muster by then and will have forgotten how bad it’s going to be. And guess what they’ll be voting for then?
So unless we see massive combined action across the country like ADAPT’s Trumpcare will be looming over America and then hit everyone at once. Kudos to those brave ADAPT activists with whom police showed no consideration this time and fettered their hands behind their back seated in their chair after their arrest. It’s going to be a long hot summer.
Congrats!
From the GOP Point of View:
Thanks all. Heated Hugs!
