Here are three more fantastic videos from Samantha Bee.
Sessions’s Southern-Fried SnoozeFest
Sam sure understood KKK Beauregard.
I’m not sure what the specific minimum age should be, but 12 or 13 is so absurd it’s Republican.
I fully agree with such programs for prisoners.
Don’t forget to…
RESIST!!

Sam I – This is off topic, but I was reading more about illiterate snowflakes whining about Julius Caesar this morning, and the cast of characters here reminded me – I suggested they should have done "MacBeth" instead – wouldn't Meliania be a lovely Lady MacBeth? And the three witches – Bannon, Sessions, and Flynn – with Putin in a cameo as Hecate. Sigh. Adam Schiff could be MacDuff.
Sam II – It's actually worse than this. Thirty-nine states allow exceptions to stated minimum ages with parental consent, with NO minumum age. One activist has started a petition on Care2 to fight this – she was married at age ELEVEN while PREGNANT in the state of Florida (it was her second pregnancy by the same rapist, who was a worker at the CHURCH and the "family" didn't want a SCANDAL) So – when is a number not a real number? In virtually every state.
Sam III – The debate team from Sing Song defeated Harvard a couple of years ago. And I absolutely agree this is a marvelous program. Most people, in and out of prison, have no idea how to argue. The first time I led Virgil through a dispute as a negotiation, it ended by me saying, "Ok, I accept that plan, you win." And he said "I win? I didn't even know we were fighting!"
What a treat! Sam is awesome!
Thanks, Tom.
#2. Very disturbing and troubling.
#3. Great program, yay!! for the women's team. WTG, Camilla!!
Thanks again, Tom.
#1 — I love Sam's name for Sessions — the Garden Gnome — how appropriate!
#2 — This is an infuriating situation that should not be. In a country whose citizens often protest child marriages in other countries and cultures, one would think that there would be more awareness about the laws in their own country. And the lawmaker who would not support a ban on child marriage because he is pro-life, is a jackass and beyond stupid. I applaud the Girl Scout who tried to make a difference, and I condemn her idiot state rep who thought she didn't know anything. Another jackass!
#3 — Such programmes should be mandatory in all prisons.
Resist and Persist!!!
Thanks for another great batch of Sam Bee's, TomCat.
#2 I didn't know that shotgun-weddings, mostly aimed at the girl, were still the rule in so many states. The statistics Sam gives are truly shocking and the consequences for the young girls are horrific. Christie vetoed a bill to raise the age for teenagers to marry because he didn't want to interfere with the cultural tradition of NJ. That certainly puts a whole new perspective on the petitions against child marriage in Islam I've seen coming by.
#3 Sam made fun of some of the programs on offer, like acting, because it doesn't seem to lead to employment, but the key to success would be to offer both kinds of program: one to build up peoples self-esteem and change the way they look at themselves and the world around them and followed /simultaneously by those that give them job skills.
I'm going to put in a little PSA for acting here. Just as I said in my comment that most people have no clue how to argue, most people -and maybe even a higher percentage of people who become at odds with the law – have no idea how to behave in publicActing teaches them that "being yourself" doesn't mean you have to behave the same way all the time, and even more important, HOW to shape your behavior to make the best impression. It's less a "soft" discipline than most realize – and it can translate into vast improvement at job interviews, and even at doing the job, especially if the job is in retail.
Thanks all. Hugs!
Sam1-An “Intelligence committee” ought to consist of intelligent people, not jackasses with agenda!
Sam2- Each of the five wonderful men, none of whom appears to have been born with a uterus, who voted against the NJ bill, are Repiglicans. The only good thing about our governor, is that he won’t be governor for too much longer.
Sam3- So cool!
