You have probably noticed that SoINeedAName has alerted us that he will be away this weekend and won't be able to post a Friday Fun. Well, darn.
I was hoping to use this week's Friday Fun to, in the comments, follow up on the one which will be two weeks old this Friday, the wonderful COVFEFE post.
However, in view of the fact that TC's very own Congressman, Earl Blumenauer, has just introduced the PARIS Act (Prohibiting Aid for Recipients Ignoring Science) into Congress to make sure (if it passes) that Trump and other climate deniers cannot claim against federally subsidized flood insurance when (not if) their properties (such as Mar-a-lago) go underwater in the near future –
I think this is the time to announce the introduction, by Mike Quigley of Illinois, of the COVFEFE Act (Communications Over Various Feeds Electronically For Engagement), an Act to ensure (if passed) that all Social Media postings by the Resident are preserved for posterity. Yes, all Presidential "communications and statements" are already legally required to be preserved, but it's a bit of a gray area whether tweets, for example, are in that category. This will update the law so that everything may be "properly" preserved.
Rep. Quigley (D-IL) is both co-founder and co-chair of the Congressional Transparency Caucus. Because of course he is.
Here is the article and a poll so everyone can record his or her reaction to the proposed legislation.
And I couldn't follow up on COVFEFE without sharing Randy Rainbow's take, with parodies from seven movies (most were also on Broadway, but all were movies, if one may have just been on PBS):
In case anyone is having a senior moment and can't place one or two of these (I was, though the penny dropped for me about ten seconds after I finished watching), here are the titles of the movies and the songs. Yes, I know it looks blank. Highlight over the blank space with your mouse, keyboard, or a combination, and you'll be able to see them. No spoilers here unless you want them.
Mary Poppins "Chim Chim Cheree"
Shall We Dance "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off"
The Music Man "Shipoopi"
Cats "Memory"
Oliver "Consider Yourself at Home"
West Side Story "Maria"
Oklahoma "Oklahoma"

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
That was a wonderful vid! Very creative! Well done!
I'm not much of a fan of musicals although I have seen 4 of the 7 listed. As for the Randy Rainbow "Covfefe" video, I did watch it and had figured that Mary Poppins would be one of them listed. It was about all I could think of from late last night. The "Covfefe" video was, creative as stated by Lynn, well thought out and presented, with appropriate costuming, clever.
For those of you having trouble in getting your answers, go to the bottom of No Spoilers here. Hold your mouse pointer down and drag it to just above Cross posted to Care2. It should reveal the answers.
Thanks to Joanne for this unusual Friday Fun posting.
.
Great idea. The COVFEFE Act will provide thousands of jobs in the Barf Bag manufacturing field.
Absolutely wonderful job, Joanne!
Democratic legislators like Blumenauer (PARIS Act) and Quigley (COVFEFE Act) could drive Drumpf out of the last remnants of his minds if these Act would pass Congress and Drumpf has to sign them.
Come to think of it, only the PARIS Act would do so, because it would harm the Drumpf family fortune, but Drumpf would be only be too happy to sign the COVFEFE, because he really thinks he made an existing word world famous, but most of all because the Act wants to preserve all his tweets. He’d only see having all his ramblings officially preserved for posterity as a yuge compliment and acknowledgement of his “wisdom”, and fail to understand that it would prohibit them from ever being deleted and would officially make them “his word” for any court in future.
Yeah, as of now there is not a veto-proof majority. But still good ideas, I think.
Signed!!!
The nighttime (Or other) ramblings of the jackass in chief certainly need to be kept for posterity, so future generations can see what happens when one thinks posteriorly!
I hope that both Acts go through!
Signed, of course.
Love the Randy Rainbow medley, I got 5 out of the 7 correct.
Thank you, Joanne for this delightful post!!!
I was just happy the “spoiler mode” worked. It opens up a whole new avenue of communication. I just saw a new Randy Rainbow on “Russian ties” with a tune from “Grease” and “testimony” from Sessions and Comey. SMH.
