Many of us, including me, have thought that, now that RepubliCare has moved to the Senate, it would die an embarrassing death and that would be the end of it. However, now he have indications that Bought Bitch Mitch [R-KY] may be trying to revive it. Instead of following the normal committee process, he has formed a Senate health Care Working Group that is conspicuous for its exclusions.
Even as House Republicans were wheeling and dealing to get their health care plan passed, a group of 13 senators have been meeting for weeks now to craft their own measure that is likely to look much different from the version voted out of the House Thursday. And Democrats are already pouncing on the group because of it’s lack of diversity.
The group’s creation is outside of the normal committee process where legislation is crafted but includes Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell who has signed on to the group.
"As the Senate continues its work on fixing the broken promises of Obamacare, senators from throughout the conference have been working on solutions," McConnell spokesman David Popp said, "Those meetings and efforts continue, including chairmen of the relevant committees and leadership."
Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, a member of the group, said it was formed to garner consensus.
"The Majority Leader has pulled together a group — a working group that represent different approaches and trying to get consensus there," Cornyn said, "And we’re going through the issues methodically and we’re just getting started."
Notably missing from the working group are any of the five GOP women senators, particularly Maine’s Susan Collins and Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski, two moderate votes Republicans will need to get a bill passed through the senate.
And Democrats have already attacked the group for that lack of diversity… [emphasis added]

Why did Republicans exclude women? It’s obvious. Republicans consider women as chattel, owned by men and existing for men’s pleasure. Therefore, they consider it OK to sacrifice women’s health care needs to appease their pseudo-Christian base. Welcome to the Republican War on Women.
RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Women have been considered chattel so long in the Abrahamic religions that many women take it for granted. Otherwise there would have been torches and pitchforks long before this. I might add that this committee is also very melanin-challenged, and there are certain differences in health care which need to be considered that are correlated with differences in melanin (and other pigment) content. It's very clear exactly whose health the GOP cares about – and whose health it doesn't care about.
So much for the theory that a rancher, whose life and fortunes depend upon his livestock, will therefore take excellent care of them.
Melanin-challenged
?
Despicable and horrible.
Vote every one of these sons of B's out !!! Begone!!
Thanks, Tom.
Here's an example of how the questioning went. This was at the Senate Judiciary Committee today.

BaZingA!
Did she nail Cornhole or what?
Well, did Sally Yates make chopped meat out of Cornyn or what?!
Women exist to serve men according to many who were elected to Congress. They have no compunction about putting women's health care at the back of the building and/or ignoring women who contribute.
JD: "… this committee is also very melanin-challenged, and there are certain differences in health care which need to be considered that are correlated with differences in melanin (and other pigment) content. "
This was my very first thought too in addtion to no women! These are many of the same men that snickered with Todd Akin and Foster Friess back in 2013 when they made totally absurd and unconscionable comments about women.
51% of the population is not represented at all! Total bullshit!!! I wonder how these same men would react if 13 women sat about making policy about men's health? I dare say they would be very, very angry and cry foul.
Resist and Persist!!!
Off topic but continued from C2.

Thank you, Jim. Net neutrality is in danger of being overlooked due to all the other outrages being done in our name. As a person of limited mobility myself, I truly appreciate your keeping it in the spotlight!
Thirteen white elderly men deciding on the faith of healthcare of more than 50% of Americans…sounds straight from a gothic horror story. "We have no interest in playing the game of identity politics…to reduce this to gender, race or geography [all these white males are from the South then?]…misses the more important point of the diverse segments of the conference the group represents on policy…"True, the "only" thing that binds these 13 men is their white, misogynist, minority-hating, millionaire-loving pseudo-Christian Republican politics. Oh, and the feeling of comradery this war on women undoubtedly bring them.
But perhaps it is a good thing no other majorities (women) or minorities are represented in this group. This way they have not been made complicit in the making of another monstrosity and can vote against it. Not that I expect that would do much good, there are so few Republicans in Congress who aren't white and male. Still makes me wonder what goes on in the heads of those non-talibangelist women who vote for them. C'mon ladies, time to realize we're the majority here.
Recalling how Sec. Hillary Clinton made mincemeat of Trey Gowdy et al during her 11-hour Benghazi testimony. And now having read multiple reports on how former AG Sally Yates was calm, cool & collected while shredding Sens. Cornyn & Cruz (both A-holes are R-TX), I think we should provide this WARNING to republican Congress critters beforehand:
Do NOT mess with Democratic women at your hearings.
They are smarter than you. They are more articulate than you. They have NO fear of you. And you will always – ALWAYS – lose.
And may I add, we have a party filled with them … and YOU do NOT!
Lovely! lol! Thanks!
AMEN!!
Melanin Challenged? How about Estrogen Challenged! The news lady asks "Why couldn't they find women?" They were not interested in finding women…"If you have a high pitched voice, we don't want to talk with you, bitch!" would be the real reason. Their response about inclusion, or the lack of it, is just more Orwellian double-speak!
Thanks all. Heat Hugs!
