It’s so sticky here in Portland that I’m about to melt. Fortunately tomorrow will be 20° cooler. JD sent me some lovely earrings featuring the Democratic Party donkey. I’d wear one myself, but I don’t have pierced ears. Wendy loves her pair, and asked me to say thanks. And finally, I got to kiss her ass. Wooo Hooo!! Thanks JD!!

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Why Won’t the Press Ask Trump Anything? | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann
Keith could not be more spot-on. With very few rare exceptions (Rachel, Chris, Lawrence) the US media had failed in their obligation to be the fourth estate. Nail Trump and his entire Reich, world media! RESIST!!
From Atlanta Journal Constitution: A federal judge on Thursday ordered Georgia to temporarily reopen voter registration ahead of a hotly contested congressional runoff in the 6th District.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten made the ruling as part of a broader lawsuit by a Washington-based advocacy group, which last month accused Georgia of violating federal law by reducing the amount of time residents have to register to vote.
Voter registration shut down March 20 ahead of the deciding runoff June 20 for the 6th District election, which is being held in the northern suburbs of metro Atlanta.
Batten, however, ordered registration immediately re-opened until May 21.
The Reich can’t win unless they control who votes. RESIST!!
From Daily Kos: CNN is now reporting her warning was much more emphatic.
Washington (CNN)Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates is prepared to testify before a Senate panel next week that she gave a forceful warning to the White House regarding then-National Security Advisor Michael Flynn nearly three weeks before he was fired, contradicting the administration’s version of events, sources familiar with her account tell CNN.
In a private meeting January 26, Yates told White House Counsel Don McGahn that Flynn was lying when he denied in public and private that he had discussed US sanctions on Russia in conversations with Russian Ambassador to the US Sergei Kislyak. Flynn’s misleading comments, Yates said, made him potentially vulnerable to being compromised by Russia, according to sources familiar with her version of events. She expressed "serious concerns" to McGahn, making it clear — without making a recommendation — that Flynn could be fired. …
On February 14, the day after Flynn’s firing, White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that Yates had simply "wanted to give a ‘heads up’ to us on some comments that may have seemed in conflict with what he (Flynn) had sent the Vice President."
Why did it take the White House 17 days to fire Flynn after this warning?
CNN notes that due to national security constraints, we may not hear the full story.
Drip, drip, drip.
The noose tightens. RESIST!!

YVW and WoooHoo!
Keith #68 – Keith is certainly right that no US media will ask Kim Don Yuuge anything substantive. I don't know that I would have thought of begging the rest of the world to start doing it, but if they would, it would be wonderful! More power to them. TC, you mention Rachel, Chris, and Lawrence (and of course Keith himself, and Cenk) but Dolt.45 wouldn't dare to be in the same room with them so they could ask him anything directly, which makes it harder for them.
Atlanta – Kudos to Timothy Batten! May his tribe increase! The 6th is traditionally red, but the demographics are changing, and changing in our direction, so of course the Republicans are exhibiting Republicosis about it.
DKos – "National Securty Constraints" my Democratic donkey. That would be Orange Oligarch Security Constraints. Or simply, Republican Security Constraints.
Cartoon – Blessings on all of them.
Keith: UTTERLY SPOT ON! "Alternate facts?" Hell, we are living in an alternate universe!!
AJC: Good news, for now. Don't think the GOPigs will let up for a minute- "They (are) a race of mendacious hypocrites, ever ready to accuse others of dishonesty in order to cover up their own talents for scheming and dissembling, etc., etc.” taken from pg. 113 of "Friedrich Nietzsche," by Curtis Cate. No, Neitzsche was not talking about the Republicans, but about some of their forebears, after whom the Republicans so seriuosly take after.
DKos: Ditto JD!
KO: Well said, what we're all thinking and saying!! Great video, (as always), passing on. Yea, ASK at every opportunity!!!
AJC: Kudos to the Judge Batten for standing up and doing what's right. Amen!
Cartoon: Peace to them.
It's global warming, I tell ya, WI had snow earlier this week, and you are having a hot day where you're at.
Hope that you have an enjoyable evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
Ran across this from the NYT: "Ms. Glenn, a Medicaid coordinator for Tri-County Special Education, an Illinois cooperative that helps more than 20 school districts deliver special education services to students, was worried about an issue that few in Congress were discussing: how the new American Health Care Act, with its deep cuts to Medicaid, would affect her 2,500 students.

I grew up in the NW and I don't remember having nearly as much hot, muggy weather as you seem to be having the last few years. It must be those damn Chinese and their climate change hoax. They are trying to make us believe things are warming up. I am going to put on a sweater just to prove that they can't fool me.
Hey Critter, I miss seeing your smiling face! Glad to see that you're back, even if it is a short pit stop!
Like your "can't-fool-me" idea of putting on a sweater.
Boy, that'll show 'em …
I've missed you, Jerry!
I'm still lurking around, but I am mostly spending my time spewing venom at Trump on Twitter (@JerryCritter)
You are more than welcome to spew venom at Putin's Pervert here too.
Youtube: The press has note done its job since he started campaigning for the office. They and the FBI are largely responsible for us being saddled with him.
Atlanta Journal Constitution: These actions are typical of what the Republicans have done to win the Congress and White House. Win, no matter how, you don't have to be ethical.
Daily KOs: Will we ever know the entire story? I doubt it very much.
Cartoon: Such a long time ago for us to be in so much turmoil now after those people sacrificed so much.
We are expecting unseasonal cool weather for the next week, with frosts predicted.
Good to see you commenting again Edie! I've missed you!
Thanks, Lynn!
Ditto what Squatch said.
Thanks, TC.
YVW!!
Puzzle — 4:08 How sweet it is!
YouTube — Keith is so spot on! When I think back to the "good old days" when the likes of Edward R Murrow, Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather and others would pursue stories and ask hard questions, journalism was an honourable profession. When I was interviewing potential employees, I always tried to dig deeper as applicants answered my initial questions. It unnerved some, but I wanted to get at their truth. When Cosmo interviewed Ivanka Trump, she danced all around the questions but the interviewer kept coming back to clarify or dig further. Trump abruptly walked out of the interview. We the people don't get to ask the questions so we rely on journalists to do the job. Anything Drumpfenfarten says, along with Faux Noise, Breitbart etc, is fake news.
Atlanta Journal Constitution — Kudos to U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten! Finally, someone in Georgia with brains and a sense of what's right. I wonder how long it will take the state to appeal and try to push the decision further up the ladder?
Daily Kos — My the noose get so snug that the administration ends up hanging itself, starting with Drumpfenfarten!
Cartoon — The work is never done, especially with so many Republicans and white nationalists hanging around.
Resist and Persist!!!
I hear you about the weather. Here in Metro Vancouver, we are under a severe storm warning. Over the next 15-24 hours, we are supposed to have thunder and lightning, heavy rain that may cause flooding in some areas, a bit of wind, and water spouts which normally stay in tropical and subtropical areas. Yesterday's high temp was 14 C, today's 25 C, and tomorrow's 15 C. That is a lot of fluctuation in a short time and is said to significantly contribute to the water spouts. So there's no climate change, eh?!?
You're mirroring here. The TV was interrupted several times with storm warnings, but I never heard thunder.
What, in this day and age no selfie of you kissing JD's ass, TomCat?
Keith Olbermann: I'm sure press in the rest of the Free World would be glad to oblige were it not that they are too busy right now with insignificant matters like the presidential election in France this coming Sunday, Brexit and the effect of new elections British PM May suddenly called for in June, Erdogan turning Turkey into a religious dictatorship and driving his European partners nuts…
AJC: Kudos to judge Batten for re-opening the voter registration in the 6th District of Atlanta, Georgia. Taking the Republicans to court over this shows once more it really helps to
FIGHT EVERY FIGHT

PASSION & GUMPTION
DK: Yates expressing serious concerns about Flynn to White House Counsel Don McGahn took 17 days to ooze through the swamp that is the White House. You'd think it would have oozed pass Pence in that timeframe before he had his conversation with Flynn who then lied to him, wouldn't you. More dots to connect for our sleuths in investigative reporting, especially now so much is expected to get stuck in the WH muck…excuse me " national security constraints".
!!!??? I thought it was Wendy's ass!
It was Wendy's ass, but before that, it was my ass, and before that, it was JD's ass! Dang! That ass gets around!!
Thanks] all! Hugs!
