The Immodium has not kicked in all the way, but my trips are less frequent than yesterday, and I did get a little sleep. Summer seems to have arrived. From yesterday’s high of 57°, today’s is forecast at 81° and extremely humid. Currently it’s 83%. Needless to say, the AC is going. I’m waiting for Store to Door to come with groceries. Wendy will be here this evening. In this weather the TomCat will need extra destinking.

Short Takes:
From YouTube (GQ Channel): Trump is Panicking About Russia | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann
Amen Keith! To clarify, the minute Obama fired Flynn in 2014, his security clearance died with his job, so when he and his co-traitor Jill Stein joined Putin [R-RU] on RT, it was not on Obama’s watch, as Trump claims. RESIST!!
From The New Yorker: A class of fourth-grade students touring the White House on Monday had a chance encounter with Donald Trump and were able to answer several of his questions about the Civil War.
The students, on a field trip organized by their Bethesda, Maryland, elementary school, happened upon Trump outside the Oval Office and “cleared a lot of things up for him,” their teacher said.
After Trump invited the children into his office, the ten-year-olds briefed him on the causes of the Civil War, including slavery, states’ rights, and regional economic differences.
“It was really cool,” Tracy Klugian, who had done a diorama about the Civil War while in third grade, said. “Someday I’ll be able to tell my kids that I met the President and taught him about history.”
Andy! Are you spreading Republican propaganda? Clearly anything taught at a 4th grade level is way too advanced for Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten to understand! RESIST!!
From Daily Kos: Donald Trump blamed the Constitution for his repeated failures in his first hundred days in office. He told Fox News that the Constitution is archaic and that the rule of law that has prevented his unconstitutional edicts from being implemented "is a bad thing for the country”. www.theguardian.com/…
In an interview with Fox News to mark the 100-day mark, he declared himself “disappointed” with congressional Republicans, despite his many “great relationships” with them.
He blamed the constitutional checks and balances built in to US governance. “It’s a very rough system,” he said. “It’s an archaic system … It’s really a bad thing for the country.”
Since Trump considers the Constitution a bad thing for the country, we can be sure he will appoint more Injustices like Whoresuch to SCROTUS (Republican Constitutional VD). Fascist pseudo-Christian ideology will be the basis of their decisions. RESIST!!
Cartoon:
My own definition:
Godwin’s Law – a common meme used by Republicans, other fascists, pseudo-intellectuals, and people with their heads in the sand or in smellier places, whenever anyone points out the verifiable commonalities between today’s Republican Party and Germany’s National Socialist Party, as Hitler became dictator.

4:35 The elusive butterfly.
Keith #67 – When I saw the original Grand Jury rumor, and now again when Keith brings it up, I thought, "Isn't the existence of a Grand Jury – not of course necessarily what goes on there, but just the fact that is has been convened, a matter of public record? And, if so, where are these Grand Juries and who convened them?" I sure look forward to hearing that! Or the absence thereof. (Incidentally I did see #66 and found it perfect – had nothing to add.)
TNY – LOL!! Imagine that arrogant blowhard being able to sit still long enough to listen to a fourth-grader!
DKos – A view of the Constitution, which is 230 years old, shared by 81% of "Evangelical Christians." On the other hand, a 5,000-year-old collection of anonymous writings is perfectly up to date, and just fine with them.
Cartoon – I do not see Steve Bannon – not see Steve Bannon – not see Steve Bannon …
By the way, the V.O.I.C.E hotline – that new hotline devoted to collecting reports of "crimes by illegal aliens" – you may have heard that progessives and troublemakers are using it to report UFOs, crop circles, and (space) alein abductions, and making the adminsitration crazy. -Er, I should say. Crazi-Er. You can get in on the fun at https://www.lovearmy.org/alienreport?source=cd20170503
And, P.S., keep an eye on Jackson, MS. Their mayoral election is June 6. It's a partisan election, and the Dems just nomitaed a Progressive with 55% of the vote in a field of more than two.
Carnegie Mellon University did a study of presidents & presidential candidate-wannabes WRT the spoken and written word. Guess who came out on the bottom? (Well, Dubya actually scored worse than Twitler on speaking – but otherwise Twitler did answer Dubya's infamous question: "Is our children learning?")
And it just so happens I was able to locate Twitler's notes on the Civil War and Andrew Jackson. It explains a lot – and surprisingly was NOT written in crayon!
I was thinking, "Why was Lincoln's vocabulary so low?" but it occurred to be that an eighth grade education them was more comparable to a bachelor's degree today. At least. (Also, we probably don't have QUITE the volume of speeeches and letters from him still extant that we do on the others.) Now the mystery is, how did the Gamboge Godawful's get so high?
The link to the Study in the article seems to be broken. But here is the Study & its methodology:
https://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1603/1603.05739.pdf
Ah, thank you. If I get a chance I will look. I was tring to be flippant, however. (Like Jim, I love the report. Would love to have seen the grade.
If one were to combine both the vocabulary and grammar scores together, then one would see that Drumpf has scored the lowest.
.
KO: Of course, dt is blaming everyone for what he did! Or said, and making excuses! I hope he gets burned, and quickly. Love KO, and he speaks the truth of what's going on!! Keep 'em coming!
NYer: I would think that our students know more that this ID. I have every confidence of that!
Cartoon: Scary!
Hope that you have a good evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
*Nameless: Notes on the Civil War: Priceless! lol
Keith: Grand Juries? Possible indictments? As predicted? Be still my heart!!!!!!!
Andy: Andrew Jackson is probably beating against what is left of his coffin, to comeback and ring the bloated Orange by the neck! A kindergartner could teach Rump about life!
DK: That's why II do not watch the news, if it comes from his upper sphincter, it will be utter nonsense bull shit!
Carngie Mellon: G.W. Bush showed that high a level of vocabulary? I find that VERY hard to believe!
Puzzle — 3:29 No butterfly fricassée for you tonight Puddy Tat!
YouTube — Drumpfenfarten always blames someone else when things go wrong, and is quick to take the credit when things go well, whether or not credit is due. I wonder if Drumpfenfarten knew or if anyone bothered to tell him that Flynn's security clearance died with his firing in 2014? Cancelled clearances etc are SOP whether fired or one leaves the business/government. That is something that I would expect an executive to know. Drumpf has no acquaintance with the truth, and IMO, is not credible in the least. Nothing he says about the Russia affair can be trusted. It is NOT over! The sooner that an independent prosecutor is in place, the faster the allegations can be proven or disproved. The idiot Orange Ogre is not a strategic thinker.
The New Yorker — Out of the mouths of babes . . . !
Daily Kos — Classic fascist dictator . . . wanting to bend the laws (or make them up) to his agenda. One thing I find funny in a perverse way is that Republicans called Obama a king who ruled by decree when in fact Obama stuck to the rule of law. But Drumpf is exactly that, or wants to be, a king who finds laws inconvenient, and Republicans say nothing.
Cartoon — If the shoe fits, wear it!
I saw this picture and thought you'd get a kick out of it. It from an article about notes left on windshields.
Resist and Persist!!!
We are supposed to have temperatures around 24 – 25 C (75 – 77 F) tomorrow with thunder storms in the evening and then back to cloud and rain on Friday and Saturday. I hope things are dry on Sunday as that is the Alzheimer's Walk for Memories in which I am participating for the fifth year. I certainly don't want to walk in the rain but if I have to, I will.
Does anyone really needs any more convincing that Climate Change is not a hoax? From your current as well as and last year's weather report, it sounds like you're living in the tropics, TomCat. I only know these kind of humidity levels from Darwin, right up there in Australia's tropics. I found life there unlivable without AC, and as soon as I left the shower I felt I needed another one. I hope Wendy can accommodate you a little more often if this summer is going to remain as stinky sticky as this.
Keith Olbermann: Just think, Drumpf and his minions may have taken Flynn on board BECAUSE they thought he still had his security clearance after he was fired by Obama abd there would be no questions asked. Given the show of complete lack of knowledge or understanding of governmental procedures in the past 100 days that seems very likely, doesn't it. And even now nobody bothered to tell him, giving rise to even more ridiculous tweets. Makes me wonder if Pence/Republicans are setting him up.
TNY: Oh my, poor Drumpf. He did his level best to comprehend all the fourth-graders told him about the Civil War, but there was so much new information he was quite overwhelmed and has forgotten most, if not all of it again.
DK: Not a day goes by that my husband and I don't discuss these checks and balances and thank your Constitution for being there, as I think many Americans do too. Drumpf, supported by a Republican majority in SCOTUS, mustn't be allowed to gnaw at rhe roots of the one thing that is preventing the US from turning into a plutocracy overnight.
RESIST & PERSIST!
Cartoon: Another meme used by the GOP to draw attention away, discredit or even censor any argument in which a negative comparison with Nazi Germany, Hitler and fascism is completely appropriate. The GOP/Alt-Right of course has no problem with letting the discourse continue when Hitler and views are revered.
Thanks all! Sweltering hugs!
