  1. Have a another "FREISTUNDE".
    .

    • Rather than just a "Freistunde" ("free period", but literally "free hour") – he should have a whole day – especially since today is Freitag

(Ich spreche nur ein wenig Deutsch. Ich studierte zwei Jahre in der Gymnasium und zwei Jahren in der Universität. Aber ich habe viel vergessen.)

    • The interpretation I got for "FREISTUNDE" was: Doing Nothing All Day.

Which is what TC and others who are under the weather should be doing during their healing process.

      .

  2. I'm glad you're heeding the advise your friends have been giving you and staying down until you really feel better, TomCat. Take care and let the flu run its course; you'll be feeling much better soon, I hope.

    RESIST*

    * also the temptation to get out of bed too soon and risk a relapse

  3. Your body knows best, so rest, stay hydrated, and relax!

    Take good care, Thanks, Tom

  4. 4:41  Extrordinarily well named.  Pine nuts are delicious but hard to get.  Do you suppose that's true here?  Or are you too sick to care?  I do hope you feel better very soon!

Do keep resting – the world will go on.  Rachel is connecting another dot every day (roughly), but there are more to come; it's not tied up in a pretty package yet.

Cartoon – I feel sorrier for that sheep than I do for actual voters.  Sheep in flocks don't make their own choices.

  5. Puzzle — 2:51  Poor fishie might be fishie fricassée.  However Puddy Tat, be prepared for a dental bill — "…Their bodies are an even ovular shape with spiny dorsal fins. Its scales are quite tough and act as an armor protecting the fish…"

Cartoon — If you ask me, the truck has already hit!  It's a truck named Donald J Trump!

Have a good rest, stay warm, and stay hydrated!

    Resist and Persist!!!

  6. I hope that today's "really horrid" is a bit better than yesterday's "like crap"(All those medical terms throw me.)

But either way – take your time and treat yourself well – you deserve it!

My root canal went better than the horror stories I've heard.  Took 1 hour and 15 minutes to do – apparently because I have a "goofy tooth".  (Dental lingo also throws me).  But it's been seven hours since I got the "long-acting" local – and I'm still quite numb.  (Plus I bit my lip while eating lunch because I couldn't feel what I was biting.)

    • …because I couldn't feel what I was biting.)

      Presumably not a bagel.

      • Nope – a McDonald's Egg McMuffin.

On my trip up to Mom's I treat myself to fast food (otherwise I avoid them like the plague … or "plaQue").  And their receipt has a "Buy One Get One Free" survey offer – so I did it and used it today.  (I actually like their Egg McMuffins)

I had a big bowl of asparagus first – but learned that I should stick w/ using a fork to place things IN my mouth, rather than trying to bite a sandwich when I can't feel where my lips begin  and end.

    • Glad to hear that your root canal sounds like it went like mine — easy-peasy!

  7. Thanks all.  Sick hugs!

  8. Oh, TomCat! So sorry to hear you have the dreaded flu. That is something I avoid like the plague! I don't go out in public, accept for when I go to the grocery store.

I hope that you get BETTER VERY SOON!!! Peace, love and HUGS to you, our beloved TomCat!
