From YouTube (TYT Channel): State Offers 'Do It Yourself' Death Row
This is insane! I also agree that execution is state-sponsored murder and could not support the death penalty even for the traitors that are selling-out our nation to Russia. RESIST!!
From Washington Post: British lawmakers are set to debate a call for U.S. President Donald Trump to be denied a state visit to the U.K. — but the Conservative government insists the invitation remains firmly in place.
Trump opponents plan to demonstrate outside Parliament in London as legislators hold a non-binding debate Monday. It comes in response to an online petition with more than 1.8 million signatures saying a formal state visit “would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.”
On state visits, foreign leaders are welcomed with royal pomp and military ceremony, and usually stay at Buckingham Palace as guests of Queen Elizabeth II.
Kudos to Labour! It would certainly not do for Her Majesty to be groped by Putin's Pervert. RESIST!!
From Daily Kos: Republican Sen. John McCain delivered a pretty stunning speech Friday at an international security conference in Germany in which the senator made clear that he views Donald Trump's presidency as a threat to the West's well-being and world order as a whole. Aaron Blake writes:
McCain suggested the Western world is uniquely imperiled this year — even more so than when Barack Obama was president — and proceeded to question whether the Western world will survive.
“In recent years, this question would invite accusations of hyperbole and alarmism. Not this year,” McCain said. “If ever there were a time to treat this question with a deadly seriousness, it is now.”
McCain reportedly never attached his critique of the changing world order directly to Trump, but his prose were laced with references to the blurring of fact and fiction and a "hardening resentment" toward immigrants, refugees, and "especially Muslims."
But perhaps most notably, McCain painted a picture of a U.S. government at odds, and perhaps even at war, with its leader.
I think McCain, aka McConJov, is well intended but is conning himself that Trump is at odds with rest of the government, Both Lyin' Ryan and Bought Bitch Mitch, along with almost all in the Republican Reich, bend over, grab their ankles and cry Baa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a, whenever their Fuhrer calls, no matter how extreme the demand. RESIST!!

4:02 New Year over already? Oooh – I guess no salad for the cat.
Happy #NotMyPresident Day!
Yes, this is from The Real News Network, and yes, it has some errors and at least one unsubstantiated rumor, but it does name Cardinal Burke, and Opus Dei, both of which are menaces whose names should be known. Also, it demonstrated exactly how big vis-à-vis his britches Steve Bannon is getting and/or wants to get.

TYT – (and WaPo and no doubt a number of others) As insane as ithis is …if I were on Death Row, guilty or innocent, I can see myself asking my attorney to do this for me. But, of course, it's the death penalty itself which is the real insanity. Republicans/death penalty supporters (I'm sure the overlap is high but I can't guess how high) have no idea what motivates people, so they can't be expected to understand. And Repubicans are never happy unless they are hurting someone. Punishing someone, I have said, but the truth is, it doesn't matter whether there is any punishable offense. They just have a need to hurt.
WaPo – http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=32991&pst=2027254 Ray C is a UK citizen, and lives there, so I just note that this refers to the House of Commons, not the House of Lords. I would say, if he goes, he should stay at 10 Downing Street. Poetic justice. (He also should think twice about getting on the bad side of the Duke of Edinburgh – but he probably won't.)
DKos – Isn't it ironic that this speech was given in Munich?
Cartoon – Delightful.
Excellent Matthew Fox interview, JD. I have been an admirer of Fox for many, many years and have read several of his books. I am not Roman Catholic and have issues with the historical RC church — barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen being one of them. Looking back through history, the RC church was a political force and not necessarily on the side of justice. I did not know that St John Paul was involved with the CIA and that his eccleiastical pronouncements were influenced by it.
Thanks

Subject: The First Month
Date: February 20, 2017 12:30:50 PM PST
This just popped in my mails a few minutes ago, directly from the White House. Copied the letter verbatim:
We are officially one month into President Donald J. Trump’s Administration, and it has been a very successful start.
President Trump has focused on jumpstarting job creation and saving taxpayers money, by withdrawing the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership and clearing roadblocks delaying the Keystone Pipeline's construction. Along with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, President Trump created the United States-Canada Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders, to ensure that all Americans have ample opportunities in the workforce.
In a first step to unraveling the Obama-era regulations, President Trump signed two bills to roll back regulations and issued an executive order requiring that for every new regulation created, two must be eliminated.
President Trump has successfully coordinated with several companies to bring thousands of jobs back to America, and saved Americans over $700 million by negotiating lower costs for the F-35 fighters.
President Trump has also taken great strides in domestic security by signing executive orders that focus on reducing crime, restoring public safety, dismantling transnational criminal organizations and protecting our brave law enforcement officials.
Looking to national security, President Trump has directed his Secretary of Defense to devise a strategy to defeat ISIS, overseen the imposition of sanctions on more than 25 individuals and entities that threaten America's national security, and strategized with more than 30 foreign leaders about our shared security concerns.
Lastly, following on the impeccable legacy of Justice Antonin Scalia, President Trump nominated the brilliant Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
President Donald J. Trump has spent the last month fulfilling promises and helping the American people. He's looking forward to the many more successful months and years of action to come.
_____
I did hear about him rolling back regulations. As for the rest of it, not believable. I laughed out loud when he said that Neil Gorsuch was "brilliant".
.
Just so you know, it pains me to post mails from the White House. sigh…
I deleted mine without reading Now you're going to make me read it?
Of course I am. lol. Remember what Al Capone, noted gangster, said, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."
You can always unsubscribe from the White House mailings. I thought about unsubscribing but I realized I do sign White House petitions and want to know the results of them if any come to pass.
We all need a good laugh at how pathetic a narcissistic, delusional Drumpf really is in his "finely tuned cabinet". lol.
Added note: I received two WH petitions, both were the same, asking me to support the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Those I did not sign and deleted them.
.
And they failed to note that, according to a report I saw on msn.com today, Drumpfenfarten's travel costs were $11.3 million for his first month in office, all paid by taxpayers, and that amount is almost as much as Obama's one year travel expense.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm . . . don't you just love the little details that get left out of these disclosures!
TYT: The death penalty is legal where I live. I am sure that they are gleefully rubbing their hands figuring out ways to do this here. Personally, deep down in my heart, I have a strong belief against this. I am not the keeper here on earth to carry out executions.
WP: I signed that petition. I can't see him being cordial or receptive to Her Majesty, or to any member of the royal family. It's all about him, ya know…..
DK: So is he going to take the initiative to stand up to him? Uh….no! Have to agree with you, on your comment, Tom. Words, words, words. No action to remedy the solution. Yes, and bending over too. lol.
Cartoon: UGH !!!
Nope, not MY president!! Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.
Puzzle — 3:51 Nobody is having salad but me today . . . providing these are edible, of course!
YouTube — I have never supported the death penalty, and I am happy to say that the last execution in Canada was in December 1962 and the death penalty was officially banned 14/07/1976. However, listening to this, it sounds as though some Arizona lawmaker has been out in the Arizona sun far too long! For the state to abdicate its responsibility and role in the execution is chicken hearted. Why not do away with capital punishment! Denmark obviously has morals.
Resist and Persist!!!
Washington Post — The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is supporting Labour in the denial of Drumpfenfarten. Drumpfenfarten has done nothing to warrant such an honourific, and in realitiy has done much to deserve a prison cell. Theresa May, leader of the British Conservative party and Prime Minister, has no foundation on which to extend such an invite. I hope the Brits put the kybosh on the visit. Such a visit is likely to be the premature death of HRM.
Resist and Persist!!!
Daily Kos — There is enough space on the head of a pin to put all the Republicans officially opposed to Drumpfenfarten. It may take time to rid the country of Drumpf effects, but it must be done. BTW, I hear that Drumpf has already announced his run in the 2020 presidential election.
Resist and Persist!!!
Cartoon — Sure gives new meaning to the phrase "piss on him!"
Resist and Persist!!!
I sure was not the bright bulb on the block today — I had an 1130 hours physio appointment, but I did not wake up until 1150 hours. OOPS!! I don't normally sleep like that, but my furbabes let me sleep. I guess I needed it. So after rescheduling that for Wednesday, I eventually went out to buy Turbotax for April's filings, and then off to renew my auto insurance. So I am good for another year! Tomorrow will have to be the dreaded task day.
No matter what day it was, TomCat, I hope you had a good one.
TYT: I'm vehemently against this barbaric murder for revenge by the government some nations call execution, and I've commented so much about it before that I'm sure I don't need to do so again. But I cant pass on this insane, inhuman and cynically unlawful proposal in Arizona for the defense lawyer to bring in his own drugs after he's lost all the appeals in order to prevent the torturous part of the execution of his client; it is below the lowest of Republican standards. Putting the burden of the execution on the defense? We can see where this is going: if the state of Arizona can't get the right drugs and it takes the executed hours to die a horrible death, then it's all their own fault, isn't it. They should have had their defense layer bring in some good stuff. And the family can't sue the state then, right? Utterly disgusting.
And don't tell us Republicans aren't hell bent on killing people. If they can't do it by the needle then the gas chamber, firing-squad or gallows will do just as nicely, thank you. But die they must.
WP: To be precise: "The debate was triggered by two petitions – one against a state visit, which got 1.85 million signatures, and one in favour which got 311,000," (BBC News) clearly indicating that the British people don't want him to visit and especially not so soon. " Mr Trump was invited to the UK for a state visit after just seven days as president, while it took 758 days for Barack Obama and 978 days for George W Bush. " It's all too apparent that the conservative government of PM Theresa May is in need of some diversion AND support by means of Drumpf now the Brexit isn't going as smoothly as she has hoped. At the time of the debate, a group of anti-Trump protesters gathered outside in Parliament Square. "Similar demonstrations were organised elsewhere around the UK, including in Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff and Newcastle." But to no avail, details for his visit will be arranged. That should give the British a fine opportunity to show Drumpf what the think of him.
DK: Why would McCain try to put the fear of war and a possible end of the Western world as we know it in the minds of people at an international security conference in Germany and link it to a dysfunctional American president and his administration and even suggest that the US government is at odds/war with Drumpf? What did he think he could gain from this? The rest of the world know all too well that only the Democrats are at odds with Drumpf and that the Republicans goose step and even do more damage for him while nobody's looking. Even the right-wing governments and all the populists know that, so I'm really astounded by this speech and truly wonder what his intentions were.
Cartoon: Why are you dong him a favor, TomCat?
RESIST & PERSIST!
*Joanne, just listened to your video from your comment. I d/not know about this. WOW!
Thanks for your link.
LOVE this Pope, btw.!
Thanks all! Pooped Hugs!!
YT: Shades of Socrates!
WP: The Labor Party has it right!
DK: Yes, McCain is deluding himself to believe that BBMitch, and Lyin' Ryan are having a hard time with the Empty Orange. I doubt that Issa, and the rest are upset the slightest little bit, as well.
