As closely as I follow the news, whenever one country invades another, I should know about it. I may not know anything about the backgrounds, claimed causes, or personalities of the combatants, but at least I’m aware that the conflict exists, especially in the Americas or Europe. Then how is it that I’m not aware that Poland invaded Belarus? It’s simple. Poland didn’t.
…Senior officials have been soliciting guidance from national security agencies on how to improve relations with Russia, asking what Washington could offer Moscow and what Trump should seek from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Tillerson requested a briefing on moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, one of Trump’s campaign promises.
According to one U.S. official, national security aides have sought information about Polish incursions in Belarus, an eyebrow-raising request because little evidence of such activities appears to exist. Poland is among the Eastern European nations worried about Trump’s friendlier tone on Russia.
At the National Security Council, a policymaking body within the White House, officials were startled when drafts began circulating of an executive order that would have opened the door to resuming torture and CIA "black site" prisons. NSC officials were asked to submit comments on the order, according to two U.S. officials, but the directive was ultimately scrapped, in part because Defense Secretary Jim Mattis opposed the measure… [emphasis added]

Now why would Flynn’s goose steppers be inquiring into a war that does not exist? Rachel Maddow reports that the request came from "Senior White House officials, and that the invasion story is Russian fake news propaganda.
In Rachel’s picture of Michael Flynn and Vladimir Putin sitting at the table together, note that the another purveyor of Putin’s propaganda is rubbing elbows with her comrades.
Jill certainly looks right at home with them!
The more time that passes, the more obvious it becomes that whenever Vladimir (R-RU) calls, the Tangerine Traitor bends over and grabs his ankles. It seems that, most recently, Putin’s Pervert got a briefing with it.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Flynn is right up there with Alex Jones. He will believe anything, ANYTHING at all, as long as it is scary. Who was it that said you know you are in trouble when the sanest person in the Government is nicknamed Mad Dog?
The picture reminds me of the first season Star Trek episode, "The City at the Edge of Forever." I suppose there are multiple ways to interpret that story, but my take on it was, it doesn't matter what a good person you are or how much good you are doing, if you are pushing an idea at a time when it could become dangerous, then you are dangerous. (Anyone too youg to remember it, or who wants a refresher, can find the entire episode on YouTube. Both episodes – it was a two-parter.)
It's no surprise. Since Trump believes his own fake news, why not that of is buddy Putin.
Everything that this administration does is strange & weird. Fake news at it's finest.
Good picture of Flynn & Stein sitting at the dinner table with Pputin. ugh!!!
This news really has me worried, TomCat, but for additional reasons.
Putin has been trying to get back in the game, playing with the big boys, and succeeding so far as playing a very important role in Syria and stepping up his military presence at the borders of the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania), Belarus and of course Ukraine, where the war between Freedom fighters, aka rebels, aka Russian mercenaries and Ukraine, is still continuing after Russsia annexed the Crimea.
After it became clear that Drumpf had strong ties with Russia and wanted to make sure that the relationship between Russia and America becomes a lot mor friendly, all these countries have living in fear that their annexation by Russia would be next and not without reason as the military buildup on their borders and the language of the Russian government has made all too clear. Out of fear, the Baltic states have asked the EU for help. Opening the borders of Belarus for people of 80 countries by its president/dictator, Alexander Lukashenko, can been seen as his attempt to get the eyes of the world on his country and on the "uncomfortable" position the country is in, all in an attempt to ward off any attempts of Russia stealthily crossing the borders.
Lukashenko took these rather desperate steps on Friday, and during the weekend the fighting in East Ukraine flared up significantly, killing soldiers, rebels and civilians in a war that has already cost more than 10,000 people their lives.
And now Russia wants the world to believe that Poland is crossing the border into Belarus, of course necessitating Putin to send in his troops into Belarus to protect it, just the way it hat to "protect" Crimea and East Ukraine. And Drumpf's administration apparently follows this propaganda on a daily basis and is willing to believe it. Of course they don't know the first thing about the countries involved, so they might be tempted to go along with these preemptive Russian maneuvers, something no EU country would ever believe, perhaps with the exception of Hungary which seems to want to go back to being a Russian satellite state. So it begs the question why the Drumpf administration is following Russian propaganda so closely, but also what the hell they are going to do with any information. Russian aggression is scaring the sh*t out of Eastern Europe, but the way Drumpf and his minions are dealing with it has the whole of Europe scared stiff.
RESIST!
I emphathize
Whenever I read about Michael Flynn, I automatically think of the Muppet's "Sam Eagle" – and not only in appearance, but both are pompous arseholes and pseudo-patriots.
Clearly separated at birth. Which may be just as well. If they had spent all those years competing with each other, they might be worse.
BTW, Drumpf's father was right. He'll never amount to anything
This is such a devastating administration! We are TRULY screwed. And without any grease!
Bowling Green Massacre, Poland invades Belarus, and … — using fake news to create fear to control the people. Thye people are being played and most of the ardent believers don't even have an inkling.
Resist!!!
Hugs! Huge rush!
