Allison, my Ocular Oncology Surgeon, told me I’m in remission after several hours of torture. I really hate it when they do an ultrasound right on the eyeball. It’s like fingernails on a blackboard in your head. Now I need only five more surgeries to see right again. I will also have to submit to two more of Allison’s torture sessions a year and a full contrast pleural and abdominal CAT scan once a year. I’m still blurry from the dilation, but nearly functional.

Today’s took me 3:50 (average 5:09). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Takes:
From YouTube (GQ Channel): A Plea to Trump Fans: This Man is Dangerous | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann
Although his plea, if heard at all, will fall on deaf ears, everything Keith said about the Fuhrer is true. Every morning, I thank God that the world has survived another day of Putin’s Puppet’s Reich. RESIST!!
From The Last Word: Lawsuit: President Trump is violating the Constitution
The President is being sued for allegedly violating the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution because his hotels may accept payments from foreign governments. Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe, one of the attorneys who filed the lawsuit, joins Lawrence.
Kudos to CREW. Sue the bastard!! RESIST!!
From The New Yorker: A man who was described as “visibly deranged” eluded the Secret Service on Saturday and gave a five-minute press conference at the White House.
The man, who somehow obtained White House credentials in order to bypass security, unloaded a delusional and paranoid rant that left a room full of experienced reporters shaken.
“We were all very, very scared,” Tracy Klugian, a reporter who witnessed the incident, said. “The things he was shouting made absolutely no sense, and he seemed to just get angrier and angrier.”
After a stream-of-consciousness tirade in which he accused the reporters of being part of a far-reaching conspiracy to distort reality, the man abruptly walked off “before he could do any real harm,” a Secret Service spokesman said.
Reporters who left the White House called the incident the scariest five minutes of their lives and said that they were grateful it did not escalate further.
Dang Andy! Don’t ya think the Secret Service should have shot Sean Spicer, before he ever got near a microphone? RESIST!!

4:41 I don't think that lion was photographed in the wild.
My emails today. Every day there is at least one new atrocity. Exactly as we all predicted. Sad Depressing.
YT/GQ – There are people with actual, treatable mental iilnesses who are concerned that hammering that the Nectarine Nutcase is mentally ill reflects badly on them, and I certainly feel their pain. But I don't have an answer for how to talk about him without referring to the adequacy of his mental processes. Of course Keith is right. And of course what he says will fall n deaf ears. Meanwhile, may I say that it will be important not just to get Trump out, but to get him out within the first two years of his Presidency? Because if Pence is President for less than two years of this term, and is reelected in 2020, he will be able to run again in 2024. If for more than two years of this term, he will not.
TLW – Kudos to CREW indeed. I received some email about it and am all for them.
TNY – The whole administration certainly feels exactly like that. Did you read that Kellyanne got into a physical brawl at an inauguration party, BTW?
Cartoon – Most accurate.
KO: Of course…he lies all the time!! He's not right in the head. And this is the POTUS. u.g.h.!!
TLW: Yes, Kudos to them, and to the many who stand against this ID, to sue him.
TNYer: Oh please Lord, not 4 years!! make it 4 days!! lol
Cartoon: The A–Hats!!! oh! but of course!
*Joanne, reminds me of the fights years ago at the EM/Acey Deucy club(s) in the wee hours. KellyAnne, she's such a classy lady isn't she?? Barf!!!
Great news about your Ocular Oncology appointment! Hope you can rest/relax. Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
"Don’t ya think the Secret Service should have shot Sean Spicer, before he ever got near a microphone? RESIST!!"
And not just Spicer….
Paul Krugman came right out and said Trump is mentally ill – something I've been saying for quite some time:
https://twitter.com/paulkrugman/status/823855989409648640
And if you have any doubts to its accuracy, read this article in the WaPo – and let me know when you stop shaking:

When called for, can't have cat doing his Happy Dance too often:
And while I appreciate CREW's chutzpah in bringing their lawsuit, I doubt THIS ONE will go anywhere, because they don't have standing.
But SOMEONE will be financially injured by his Wahington hotel, and then we'll see the sparks fly!
Sean Spicer is tRump's puppet. Whatever Drumpf wants to say, Spicer says them for him to cover his a$$!
"Alternative facts," of course! Why didn't we think of that, dang!
Dangerous? I have a posting at C2, in politics, from this morning, called "Orange Man, Red Flag!' about how sick this twit is: insistently delusional. And his sychophants will be working way overtime to try to present him as sane. It is just possible that one of them will collapse under the weight of the cognitive distortion, and spill the beans. It won't be that the emperor has no balls, but that he has nothing!
MY apologies, it is late here, and I am tired, but:
DAMN THAT'S GOOD NEWS FROM YOUR OCULAR ONCOLOGIST!! Rock on!
Puzzle — 3:35 Cute puddy tat!
YouTube — AMEN!!! Dangerous is an understatement!
The Last Word — AMEN! CREW!! May the force be with you!
Sorry, too tired to finish! Today was a long grueling day! Good on the oncologist's report.
Great news, TomCat! While we're all doing Nameless' happy dance I'm sure you were like:
Until you found out about all the operations, tests and control torture you'll have to face on a regular basis from now on, I bet. But if that gets your sight pretty much back where you started from, I'm sure you'll brave all of that too and you have all our support.
Keith Olbermann: Keith is saying it out loud, Paul Krugman is saying it out loud and as time progresses more and more will be saying out loud what we have put forward here months ago: Drumpf is insane. And making it to the White House hasn't lessened his insanity, and it isn't under the control of GOP as the had thought it would be. No, it is becoming increasingly more dangerous.
But will the GOP, or any other senator or representative for that matter, ever have the guts to admit putting a man in power who is certifiably insane and start procedures to have this man taken out of office before he damages the country beyond repair? I'm afraid the answer to that is "no" too. Congress will let Drumpf sign presidential decree after presidential decree as long as it suits their agenda and without questioning the insanity of number of decrees right at the start of his so-called presidency until they realize too late that he has made himself king.
TLW: Kudos to CREW indeed. I just wonder how fast the Drumpf administration can get a presidential decree together that will prohibit any person, group or other legal entity to start a lawsuit against an American president.
TNY: Wish Andy had those experienced but frightened reporters vow never to attend a White House conference under this president again.
Cartoon: Yup, we'll sign all the decrees they want us to.
This time it's "what Lona said." I held back on commenting on the good news when I read how many additional surgeries will be required, and how bittersweet that is. But, as Lona says, we are behind you all the way,and positive that what you choose will be what is best for you – and that will end up being the best for us as well. Much love and many hugs.
Thanks all and hugd! All the good wishes and prayers, etc. really help!!
