It’s been a day for surprises. Late this morning, Store to Door called to tell me that my grocery order was cancelled, because my regular driver is snowed-in. I asked them, if there was any way they could put my order, which had already been shopped, onto another route, because confined to a wheelchair, I have no way to get out for emergency supplies. They checked and said they could, but my food would probably not come until between 4:00 and 5:00 PM. So I got an intentionally late start writing to be finished later. Just as I started writing, Store to Door came several hours early. I’m not complaining. I’m just grateful to have my food. One year ago today, I came home from three months in the hospital.

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Let’s Take a Look at Trump’s Cabinet of Villains | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann
After the November disaster, I had nightmares about the Fuhrer’s Reich. I’m sorry to share that the coming reality is far worse.
From The Rachel Maddow Show: Poll shows Trump voter gap with facts, rest of Americans’ views
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is Strength. Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten is watching you!
From NY Times: World War II and Korean War hero. First American to orbit the Earth. Kennedy family friend and confidant. The only four-term senator in Ohio history. An astronaut again at the age of 77.
Newspaper writers and evening news broadcasters will detail John Glenn’s one-of-a-kind biography — and most of them will surely observe that his passing on Thursday at the age of 95 marks “the end of an era.”
Rest in Peace, Hero!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I did write a second article today, but due to a software glitch, my computer ate it. I'm sorry. I'm just too tired to rewrite the entire thing.
No worries, my friend. Just enjoy the day. I'm sure next week will be busy enough.
5:23 Talk about looking like it would be tough! You'd have to worry about splinters in your puddy tat mouth.
Store to Door – Sounds like a case of All's Well that Ends Well. I sure hope this kind of thing doesn't happen much more. Oh, and Happy Anniversary.
YT/GQ – Batman villains. That's a good description.
Rachel – When Orwell wrote 1984 with War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, etc., he definitely expected readers to see the contradictions, and it is at least arguable he intended characters to see the contradictions too, or at least to have the ability to see the contradictions. I don't even think Orwell contemplated a space in which so many people believed the opposite of truth. And I suspect he also did not realize how stubbornly they cling to these fantasies. How impossible it is to move them into truth. See this, for example: http://forsetti.tumblr.com/post/153181757500/on-rural-america-understanding-isnt-the-problem I do recommend reading this, even though you may find it depsressing, because I think it is absolutely necessary to understand what we are really up against. Progressives in general have a touching faith in truth, that the truth must prevail. That isn't so. It can, I think, but it is not easy at all to get to the point where truth is even given a chance.
NYT – Yes. Hero indeed.
Cartoon – In broad daylight. No one will stop them.
YT/GQ: Love his videos. Sense of doom, anyone?
Rachel: Spot on with the polls. The mindset is sad, and unfortunately they believe in what he's saying.
NYT: Such an honorable Veteran, Astronaut, Senator. Rest in Peace, Mr. Glenn.
Glad that you got your grocery order early. It's been a year? (Already?) Boy, time flies! Glad that you are here, I'm grateful for YOU!
Enjoy your evening, stay warm, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
tom, I appreciate all that you do, so don't fret about only getting one online today
Congratulations on your annivesary, it is always better to be at home, even if you have some inconveniences.
Keith Olberman: Donald Trump said he was going to "drain the swamp". I guesss that meant he was going to give the drainees positions of authority.
Rachel Maddow: This proves what I previously believed. Trump voters do not want to know the truth.
NY Times: He will be missed.
Cartoon: Absolutely.
Puzzle — 3:32 Ah, a toothpick supply for a Sasquatch!
Youtube — Keith hits it out of the park again! There is no doubt, if the best of them (Mad Dog) is a viper, then at best, Drumpf's cabinet is a bunch of pumped up vipers ready to lay waste to the US and the world.
TRMS — Drumpf likes his sheeple that way . . . uneducated. And when he doesn't perform to their expectations, who will they blame?
NY Times — What an incredible career that spanned decades! . . . from early jets to early space travel and then later space travel at 77 years young . . . a pioneer in the truest sense! And a dedicated senator. In all, a patriot!
Cartoon — Republicans have been stealing for decades . . . and they don't wait for Christmas!
And home you are and we are very glad of it! Just think of how much you have accomplished this past year. You are to be commended my friend! You did it all while being bombarded by the early pinnings of the 5th Reich too! I did not get out today as it snowed all day and I do not trust the idiot drivers that do not understand "driving to the conditions". The snow blade was out today but it will have to come again tomorrow. I estimate we had about 15 cm around me, which isn't much if you are accustomed to more like am after living in the north and the interior.
Is it a year already since you came home out of the hospital and back to us, TomCat? How time flies with Drumpf and the Republicans to keep us busy and our blood pressure up every single day since then.
YT(GQC): Last read I read in the economy section of my newspaper that Andrew F. Puzder has been picked to be secretary of labor by Drumpf. This outspoken critic of the worker protections, governmental involvement in job creation and raising the minimum wage will complement Badman's cabinet of villains just fine. I'm sure Keith already had something to say on him, or will do so on Monday, Robert Reich has already done so in his Resistance report. But I'm sure you're already doing a new article on that right now, TomCat.
TRMS: Talking about a fact gap doesn't quite cut it, the "alternate reality" Rachel takes about describes the mind set of Drumpf voters much better. But I don't think this fantasy wordl is totally created by Drumpf alone. It was created by those voters themselves, helped to mature by decades of Republican influence and "the world according to Faux News", and finally made to bloom by the man who just gave them a smorgasbord of statements to pick and choose from to fit in with whatever they wanted to believe. And still want to believe and be able to contunue to believe. That is why Drumpf voters don't want to hand in his tax return; they'll avoid having to face reality at any cost because their whole world would collapse if they have to. I'm not joking here; I think many Drumpf voters who believe Drumpf because they want to hear him echo their own beliefs, will end up in an existential crisis when forced to face reality and anything might happen then.
NYT: The demise of this remarkable man really marks the end of an era.
Cartoon: What presents?
Thanks all! Hugs!!
