Wendy has been here, and she fluffed, buffed, polished and shined the TomCat.  I think I’ve got the site back in reasonably good repair.  I’m very tired, as I have not had a Lona Nap since Sunday.  Tomorrow, please expect no more that a Personal Update, as I have PT with Courtney the Inquisitor.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 5:38 (average 7:26).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes: From The New Yorker: …Even if the Russian government is not responsible for the hack on the D.N.C., Putin’s affinity for Trump is clear. Some part of it may be a matter of kindred temperament. Just as Trump talks ominously about Mexican “rapists” and tens of thousands of “illegal immigrants … roaming free” in the land, Putin won early popularity by vowing to dispense with terrorists from the Caucasus: “We will ice them in their shithouses.” Trump is, after all, a kind of parody of Putin: the bluster, the palaces. As the historian Timothy Snyder puts it, “Putin is the real-world version of the person Trump pretends to be on television.”

The fellow-feeling between the two is complex, but it is not hard to see who gets the better of whom. Trump sees strength and cynicism in Putin and hopes to emulate him. Putin sees in Trump a grand opportunity. He sees in Trump weakness and ignorance, a confused mind. He has every hope of exploiting him… [emphasis added]

Is it any wonder that RT News has aired continual attacks against Clinton from a so-called progressive perspective? That’s a fire Putin [R-RU] and Trump [R-Hades]  will just keep on fueling, but when you see the RT logo, know that Putin controls the content.

From NY Times: Republican voters in Kansas rebelled against the policies of Gov. Sam Brownback on Tuesday, ousting his fellow conservatives in at least 11 state legislative primary races amid widespread angst about Kansas’s financial situation.

With some races still undetermined on Wednesday, but also leaning toward moderates, the primary was a tangible sign of the grumblings that have been going on under the surface in heavily Republican Kansas, as deep cuts to taxes, a centerpiece of the Brownback agenda, have left the state short on revenue and led to cuts to government services.

Republi-speak Dictionary
Moderate Republican: a Republican that dresses in hoods and sheets, but rarely attends a lynching anymore.

From Crooks and Liars: The ugliness of ignorant racial prejudice and hate in 2016 America is deeply unsettling, yet far too familiar in the age of Trump. White people saying slurs like ‘wetback’ to American citizens (who have the right to speak any damned language they choose) is exactly the type of climate a hateful Republican nominee has fostered.

The Flores family was forced to record an incident when a racist woman made horrible assumptions. The cell phone video has gone viral after someone from Univision viewed the ranting racist family attacking the Mexican-Americans.

Barf Bag Alert!!

Pienso que las racistas estan completo de mierda.

  1. Sorry, but I don't think your Cartoon would be much of a punishment for Rethuglicans.

It'd be way too much like the Briar Patch was for Br'er Rabbit – all comfortable and cozy becausse it's so well-known to them.

  2. C&L: Estoy de acuerdo con su valoración, qué significa, odioso persona! Muy triste!

Cartoon: LOVE the picture!!! Shame that we can't do this. For real.

Hope that your day goes well tomorrow. Enjoy your day/evening, and take care. Thanks, Tom.

  3. 7:02 (7:34)  Hoo boy – a real toughie – and apparently new (change in average).

NYT – Yeah.  And, yes. Drumpf is a parody of Putin.  So isn't it ironic that his Twitter handle is #therealDonaldTrump.  In fact, there is no such thing.

NYT II – Would that they did dress in hoods and sheets so that we could identify them.  A lot of them wear three piece suits now.

C&L – And there you have it.  So full of pain, therefore so full of anger, therefore so full of blame which turns to hate.  Drumpf didn't make it happen – but he did give them permission to speak (if you can call that speaking – I would say it's more like the growling of an animal;, but that would insult animals).  And to be private.  The one doing most of the talking probably is all excited that she's an inrernet star.  at one tome someone like that would have been ashamed to be broadcast so widely.

Cartoon – What Nameless said.  Although, if it is all that comfy, maybe they will stay there.  That would be nice.

New topic – The Democratic candidate for Congress in my district, Misty Plowright (through one of her staffers) has started a petition on whitehouse dot gov.  I am so proud of her.  Here is the URL: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//petition/pardon-marijuana-offenders-free-thousands-non-violent-offenders-pot-prohibition  She is one of only two transgendered women who have ever run for the House.  Did I mention I am proud of her?

  4. Short Takes, the New Yorker:  I read almost all of the article, and am now more worried than ever about our country if Trump wins.  Putin loves him because he knows he can manipulate him.

NY Times:  I wish Kentucky voters would get the same wake up call as Kansas voters.  A poll tonight shows Rand Paul ahead of Jim Gray for the Senate race.  I would leave, but that would mean they might not need a slot for Democrats to vote in our county.

Crooks and Liars:  Trump has encouraged the racists and xenophobes to be open with their hatred, to the detriment of our country.

    Cartoon:  Best place for them!

  5. Puzzle — 4:39  Now I know why I could never learn to play chess.  The horse kept running away.

The New Yorker — Very interesting article contrasting Putin and Drumpf.  It seems to me that their relationship is almost a symbiotic one — they feed on each other.

NY Times — Until the Kansas voters elect a responsible governor and legislators, they will always have problems.  Unfortunately, the current Republican hacks have destroyed the state.  Recovery will be long once there is a responsible government.

Crooks and Liars — Unfortunately, I have no sound but that is hardlcely a punishment..y needed to understand the vile racist diatribe.  I hope the publication of the video makes the woman's life miserable.

Cartoon — I tend to agree with Nameless — Republcians are so accustomed to the deepest, darkest, and smelliest recesses of the kybo that it is scarcely a punishment.

  6. New Yorker: A symbiotic relationship… Hmm… Putin is lots smarter than Drumpf will ever be.

NY Times: The sooner the people, voters in Kansas realize that Brownback is not good for the state, the sooner they can get him and other GOP/TP out of office. They also need to realize that the GOP is not the political party they once knew from the  past.

C & L: I haven't heard the word "wetback" in decades. The video is certainly a product of the type of racial prejudice which is fostered and being promoted by Drumpf. Definitely a Barf Alert! Such a hateful rant spewing from this "woman's"  mouth.

Cartoon: There is always room for the GOP/TP/Freedom Caucus people in the bottom of this abyss hole. Yep, they do smell bad, really bad. Drumpf is the product of its fevered mind-set. lol.
    .

  7. That woman in that video sounds like a Rump Dump supporter! She is one person I would NOT want to know! SHE IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA, RIGHT NOW!!!

  8. C and l: La senora es un muy grande pandejo (pandeja?)

New Yorker: Putin knows a spineless, empty, loudly rattling tin can he can manipulate, when he sees one!  Oh, Donny boy, one is known by the comapny one keeps!

NYT: Good for the Kansans.  Brownback's "Red State" system is model, allright…of failure!  Un grande pendejo roja!

  9. Thanks all!  Hugs!!  The idea behind the Cartoon, is to put thgem underground where others don't have to smell them
