Quite a few nights of little sleep in a row, TomCat, so it's no surprise your so tired. Don't exhaust yourself and take it easy this weekend please and try to catch up on some sleep with some catnaps. The Republican Convention is over so you can take it easy an rest before the Democratic Convention starts.
Alternet: Staunch homophobes by day and closeted gays by night. How very Republican. The cartoon suits that perfectly.
C&L: Laura Ingram's gesture came across as a reflex "Sieg Heil" that took her half a second to get under control and turn into a wave. I'd call it a Freudian slip of the arm.
RS: I've seen better episodes of SNL, but then it's very hard to parody something that is already parody.
Cartoon: If Drumpf wins, the VA will be abolished December 2016.

The clip of "Tomorrow belongs to me" from Cabaret is chilling, but the Casablanca clip of the Marseillaise still chokes me up every time. Because the camera shows how much more truly human the anti-Nazis are than the Nazis. And that you don'r have to be rich or even respectable to be human. I love that. I wish dear Laura a secured eternity with her God, though I think she will be climate challenged there.

Alternet: The article and ads are pretty funny. There was also a link in the article which lead to to the Official Republican 2016 platform. Scary stuff. I read parts of it and came way with the idea that the words were pretty enough but feeling that the GOP 2016 platform was mostly full of hypocrisy and lies. I had to stop reading it as a headache was starting to form. sigh.

A Fuhrer Drumpf salute… ""Whether it was a Nazi salute or a wave is unclear, but with all the Adolf Hitler comparisons to Donald Trump over the last year, the convention probably wasn’t the best place to make such a similar gesture." I did listen to her speech on YouTube. All I have to say is this: The GOP people have no idea on just how bad and lyin' it has gotten over the years. Dummies being led to a slaughter.

Cartoon; The GOP wants to do away with Veterans Affairs by privatizing it. Imagine what would happen as a similar private prison setup. Screw the Vets and bill the Government for fake services and cutting services for the vets off the lists. The GOP don't care about vets as it is more interested in profiteering off of wars and weapons.
