I'm about to leave for PT with Courtney. Windows 10 does not seem nearly so bad as the horror stories I've heard, and much easier oi use then Windows 8, which I have hated trying to navigate on friends machines. I think I'll keep it, but I still feel angry over installing it without notifying me. In addition, the timing could have not been worse. Also, I get an upgrade to Office 365 with a terabyte of cloud storage for documents for only $35. I'm very tired, because I was up late getting it to work the way I want, so when I get home from PT, I'll have lunch, finish this, and take the rest of the day off. I'm back. Courtney was pleased with my progress, and liked the way George's new ankle is working.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Sounds like you might have gotten it as a bundled option when you downloaded another app/program, like they frequently do w/ Bing as the search engine. All those little checked boxes I USED to gloss over that come w/ the EULA, I now pay attention to.
I was surprised to learn that the MS Office suite did NOT come w/ Windows 10. It's now a stand-alone you purchase or "rent" w/ their OneDrive Cloud service, assuming you'll want/need more than the 15GB that comes w/ Windows 10 … which they're decreasing to 5GB comes August (6th I think).
The Office 365 & 1TB of storage for $35/year is an EXCELLENT deal. I got 200GB "Free" for two years that came bundled w/ my new Seagate BackUp Plus EHD – but NO Office stuff. Looking into getting the Office 365, but haven't yet because I'm still transitioning from my laptop and recovered EHD that had died. What a pain!
Not bundled at all. The only piece of software I've purchased lately was a Quicken Update. It's $35 for the first year and $70 afterwards.
4:53 (4:39) Spring may finally be here, but this early in the day (when I am working it) it's still too cold for this scene.
Sound like (barring exhaustion) all is working well for you. Great! I am on a computer right now running Windows 8, but since it is MY computer it is customized to please ME – and it runs much more like Windows 7 than it did when I first got it. I'll stick to it as long as I can. I am seldom happy with updates. I asked an IT professional once how come every time there is an upgrade, we lose functionality? He said it was a very good question. I asked, so what's the answer? He said, I don't know; that's why it's such a very good question.
Cartoon – Yeah – and now they think they can once again use deadly force without consequences. God help us.
Cartoon: "In 1961, the Freedom Riders set out for the Deep South to defy Jim Crow laws and call for change. They were met by hatred and violence — and local police often refused to intervene. But the Riders' efforts transformed the civil rights movement." We're still not there, and rights for many are being violated. Every.Day.
Glad to read about you and George. Good news. Take care, rest this evening, and take good Care. Thanks, Tom.
Out the door, Relay for Life is tonight, and I want to see/do the Walk. (Cancer Survivors or anyone affected by Cancer).
George is finally getting with the program! That's fantastic! Take care, TC!
Glad George's new ankle is working. I still need someone to fix Windows 10 sound problems for me.
Cartoon: I won't be surprised if that starts happening again if Trump gets elected.
Puzzle — 9:00 as usual lately, done on my laptop w/o a mouse. I really need to use my desktop for the puzzles! I miss beating the Puddy Tat!
Cartoon — SSDD! Will this racist crap ever end?!?
When I set up my wi-fi account with Telus, I asked about Windows 10 versus W7. The tech said that 10 is not that different from W7, but heaven help anyone with W8 — it is very different. He also said that sometimes W10 can interfere with some saved items. Hope you're able to work out any kinks to your satisfaction.
Glad to hear that George is pulling his weight finally.
3:45 The sun got in my eyes.
I ketched a fishie!!
I chose a moment in time most agreeable to me to upgrade both my PC and laptop, but your upgrade was forced on you and at a very busy and inconvenient time too. The upgrade itself didn't cost you any time, but getting your environment back to the way you like it must have. Windows 10 wasn't as bad as the first version when I installed it as I'd waited deliberately until all the teething problems were gone, so your version must have even less known problems left. But it sprung some surprises on me nevertheless, like resetting my settings to default after a new update. How much trouble it'll give you depends mostly on how your other apps work under Windows 10 and how many surprises lurk in their updates. It'll keep you on your toes for a while, I'm sure.
Good to hear your hands are not afflicted by rheumatoid arthritis after all, TomCat. The next questions will undoubtedly be: what is it then and how can we either treat it or take away the pain without getting you hooked on painkillers? But this will have to take a backseat to your imminent eye operations, I guess. George is all ready for it, now you need to get yourself prepared too.
Cartoon: Then they were attacked on busses, now they are attacked at Drumpf rallies.
