Last night I watched the poli6tical festivities. George is mad at me. When Rump Dump spoke, I couldn’t help myself. Poor George!! Julie left a few minutes ago, so I’m a primped puddy tat. Today is a grocery delivery day and I’ll have a big order to put away. Later” The groceries are stowed and I’m pooped!

Bernie scored an impressive win in Indiana, but he cut Hillary’s lead bu only six delegates. He needs 982 more to win. Hillary needs 180 more to win. Vote blue, no matter who!!!
From NY Times: The entire community of Fort McMurray, the heart of Alberta’s oil sands region, was ordered to evacuate on Tuesday night as a fast-spreading wildfire advanced on the city and cut off its only highway link to the south.
The fire destroyed a number of homes in one neighborhood and some trailers in a trailer park, said Robin Smith, a spokesman for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, which includes Fort McMurray. According to television news reports, commercial buildings downtown were also ablaze.
There were no reports of injuries by early evening.
A video showed flames and smoke rising hundreds of feet into the sky, prompting the largest fire evacuation in Alberta’s history, The Edmonton Journal reported. The fire was expected to get worse on Wednesday, when winds were forecast to switch direction and increase in speed.
I found a video report:
Prayers are going out for the residents of Fort McMurray, I don’t think the oil sands have caught fire yet and hate to think of the toxic threat to Canadians, if that happens.
From Alternet: Following Donald Trump’s primary win in Indiana last night, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren blasted the Republican frontrunner on social media for building “his campaign on racism, sexism and xenophobia,” vowing to ensure “Trump’s toxic stew of hatred and insecurity never reaches the White House.”
Here’s the message she posted on Facebook:
Elizabeth Warren

Donald Trump is now the leader of the Republican Party. It’s real – he is one step away from the White House. Here’s what else is real:
Trump has built his campaign on racism, sexism, and xenophobia. There’s more enthusiasm for him among leaders of the KKK than leaders of the political party he now controls.
He incites supporters to violence, praises Putin, and, according to a columnist who recently interviewed him, is "cool with being called an authoritarian" and doesn’t min…

Democrat Warren has largely stayed on the sidelines of the nominating process for her own party this election cycle, but the progressive politician consistently slams Republican candidates for their positions on big banks, and labor laws and women’s rights.
Go Lizzie!! Rump Dump Trump deserves every bit of that!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
BERNIE rocked last night! But he's gotta win EVERY single one to even get close. And close is "no cigar!". So the convention will be interesting. I want to see how many of Bernie's ideas make it in to Hillary's platform! Think she would pick him as a running mate?? That would solve ALL the fighting that would come out of this convention! If not, there's gonna be a big fight in Cleveland!
I'll get the popcorn and you bring the drinks, TC!!! I love a good match!
Glad you got fluffed and buffed! And groceries, to boot!
Have a great day, TomCat!!! You da BOMB!!!
A woman I knew was a Freedom Rider who, with others, got stopped and jailed in TX and never got to their destination.
Warren tells it straight.
You can make a donation through the Red Cross: “We work alongside government and other agencies to provide support, they can donate at 1-800-418-1111 or at redcross.ca”
Math is still possible given the polls.
Glad Julie is working out so well.
Tom, you make me tired just reading about your activities.
6:35 (5:51) Don't get stung, or go into sugar shock from honey, honey.
RCP – I would say impressive, considering how far behind the polls showed. "Vote blue, no mtter who" – ALL THE WAY down the ballot!
NY Times – Living as I do in a state that has definitely seen some – ya don't suppose wildfires increasing in frequency and severity has anything to do witj climate change, do ya? Aw gee. Prayers from here. Kint of gives a new meaning to "the stupid – it burns," doesn't it? (Not blaming the residents, who probably didn't have a lot of choice under Harper especially.)
Warren – In other words, vote blue, no matter who. We hear you, Lizzie.
Cartoon – Not all cartoons are funny. Some are sad. Like this one. Totally off topic, it apparently is also Star Wars Day. May the Fourth be with you!
NYT: I too, offer my concerns and prayers for those folks affected by this. I sure hope the winds die down for them!!
AN: Bless Ms. Warren for sharing and spreading this.
Cartoon: How brave they all were!! "The group encountered tremendous violence from white protestors along the route, but also drew international attention to their cause. Over the next few months, several hundred Freedom Riders engaged in similar actions. In September 1961, the Interstate Commerce Commission issued regulations prohibiting segregation in bus and train stations nationwide. *history
Julie sounds wonderful for you, so glad that you found her! Poor George! Sounds like you had a very busy day, now it's time to wind down. Relax, and enjoy your evening, and Thanks, Tom.
Puzzle — 3:46 How sweet it is!!!
13:46 done on my laptop w/o a mouse.
RCP — Go Bernie!!! It isn't over until it is over! I think that Democrats will have to come closer to Bernie in order to keep is base satisfied and everyone ready to defeat the Republicans.
NY Times — I can provide you with some more up-to-date information. 1600 hundred homes and outbuildings have been destroyed. Temperatures on Wednesday were scheduled to be 30 C (86 F) with winds. The area is tinder dry. 80,000 people evacuated. Evacuations are mostly south bound but there are people cut off and forced to go north. Oil sands camps are about 70 km north of Fort Mac and the camps are receiving evacuees for now. There are shortages of fuel and food as supplies cannot get into the area. Machinery from BC and fire crews from Ontario are on the scene. BC is fighting wildfires in the Peace Region of northern BC that have been going for some time (over 200 wildfires in BC currently). Trudeau has committed some military support with planes and logistics. About 5 years ago there was a huge wildfire at Slave Lake in northern Alberta, although not as big as this one. Recovery from this will take years. Thank you for the prayers for the people of Fort Mac. We will be having prayers at church tomorrow. Thanks JL for publishing the Red Cross contacts.
Alternet — Alright!!! Go Lizzie!
Cartoon — Strange, in many ways the Freedom Ride needs to be ongoing.
If you keep doing that, I'll become one fat puddy tat!
Yes, Lynn is so right about the Freedom Ride!
Bernie would have to score some 95% over the remaining primaries! I do not think it is about to happen.
What a sad situation in Fort McMurray!!
Hopefully, Lizzie will be right out in front of the "Vote Blue, Period!" movement.
I hope you got the groceries put away without over tiring George.
Real Clear Politics: Barring a miracle, Clinton will be the nominee, but Bernie has not lost. He has forced her to consider some progressive issues.
NY Times: How devastating for that area! Oil sands and fracking are too dangerous to be continued. We need to move away from out dependence on these sources of oil.
Alternet: I agree with Warren. I read the comments on her page, and frankly, was shocked at the venom spewed on her. It is hard to believe we have so many racist, xenophobes in our country! The dumbing down of America has really worked.
Cartoon: Bravo to those brave people!
Oh no, you didn't first let George deal with what your stomach thought of Drumpf's speech and then let Julie deal with the both of you, did you, TomCat? If you keep that up you'll be back to splashing about in the kitchen sink on one leg before the elections are over. 😉
RCP: This delegated business certainly isn't working in favor of Bernie Sanders. Hillary seems certain of her victory by now, but that doesn't make her a very popular Democratic candidate. I do hope she realizes that and doesn't take on any of Drumpf's horrible cockiness, but tries to win over Bernie's supporters with a believable progressive campaign who must vote blue, no matter who.
NYT: My heart goes out to all the people whose life is devastated by wildfire in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Wildfires are a terrible force of nature and one we've been seeing so much more of these past years as droughts scourge so many areas in the world due to climate change. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the devastation in Alberta will not get completely out of hand if another one of its man-made "features", the oil sands installations, start to burn too.
Alternet: Thank goodness for Elizabeth Warren! Unlike Drumpf, she really tells it like it is and not some egocentric and imaginary version of reality. " What happens next will test the character for all of us – Republican, Democrat, and Independent. It will determine whether we move forward as one nation or splinter at the hands of one man's narcissism and divisiveness." Do yourself and the rest of the world a favor, America, and heed her warning.
Cartoon: I soon hope to see people as brave as that again.
I had cleaned George befire Juliew arrived.
Thanks all! Hugs!
