Last night I dealt with the Republican debate in the only intelligent way possible.  I didn’t watch.  Furthermore, George threatened me that, if I filled him with puke again, like I did last time, he would refuse to interface with Stumpy.  I don’t need to have watched to know that the Derby was made of of lies, hate and affronts to human decency from one end to the other.  Here’s the Gray Lady’s analysis, followed by some interesting video.

0207Debate

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida was hammered as callow, ambitious and lacking in accomplishment during the Republican presidential debate here on Saturday night, as Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey led an all-out assault to try to halt Mr. Rubio’s growing momentum ahead of the critical New Hampshire primary on Tuesday.

Mr. Rubio, facing the fiercest attacks yet of the Republican race after his strong third-place finish in the Iowa caucuses, looked rattled at times and faltered as he pushed back with scripted lines about President Obama that Mr. Christie mocked mercilessly. While the Republicans clashed on issues like abortion and torture, the concerted effort to take down Mr. Rubio dominated the debate.

“You have not been involved in a consequential decision where you had to be held accountable — you just simply haven’t,” Mr. Christie told Mr. Rubio early in the debate. Charging Mr. Rubio with taking credit for policies but then skipping Senate votes on them, he said, “That’s not leadership. That’s truancy.”

The scorn aimed at Mr. Rubio, a 44-year-old first-term senator, came as voters in New Hampshire and nationwide are still taking the measure of him, though he is well positioned to surge nationally if he has a strong showing in the primary here. Still, a Boston Globe/Suffolk University poll last week indicated there was still fluidity in the New Hampshire electorate: 33 percent of Republican primary voters here said they might change their minds before Tuesday…

After Iowa, I’m not surprised to see a pig pile on Border Booter, the Latino that hates Latinos.  He must be flat as a pancake, after PIGnocchio piled-on!

Now you may be wondering how I could have come up with the interesting video I promised at the outset.  Since I’m too kind to assault you with a Clown Car Destruction Derby VIII video. I have a clip for you on an unrelated subject that IS interesting!

Go Bernie!

Now isn’t it time that the Clown Car was destroyed?

  1. Well, I certainly didn't watch.  I am not likely to see a Republican debate since the  only channel I watch is PBS and can you see the Repubs willing to hold a debate there?!!?  LOL!!

Jeb actually said, "a limousine parking lot for (Trump's) casinos is not public use"?  Dang, I thought that was exactly the kind of "public use" Republicans thought eminent domain was for.  Well, that's the end of his candidacy.  They'll never let him live that down.

WRT Bill – "Commander in Chief."  You know, it's funny whenever the Democrats have a candidate without military service, suddenly "you're not fit to be Commander in Chief unless you have served."  Some Republican veteran in 2008 sent me an email tho this effect, and I responded, "Oh, come now.  The way the constitution is written, the Commander in Chief is SUPPOSED to be a civilian, with or without past service, but a civilian.  If you REALLY think the Commander in Chief must have military experience, you must have voted for Kerry in 2004, right?"  Needless to say, I never heard back.

  2. Nor did I watch.
I've seen snippets, here and there, but really?

The clown car is near the cliff, and running out of gas!

  3. EXCELLENT point, Joanne D. If military service was a prerequisite for being Commander in Chief, There would be a LOT of RepukkklicanTs that would have never qualified!! Bush Jr. didn't see any action in the Nat'l Guard! I wish they listened to themselves once in a while! Especially, Uranus Inspector and Rubio. They act like they don't have a Latino drop of blood in them!! Isn't that where the names Cruz AND Rubio come from??? I don't know any people that are named such that DONT have Latino blood in them!!!

Bill Maher was red ? Friday night! It was a GREAT show!!!

  4. I kinda like his concept that politics as usual rules do not apply.

  5. Actually it sounds like it was very entertaining … IF you're a Democrat!

From reading reviews, it only confirms what I've long thought of Marcot Rubiot (alias Mr. Roboto):

Rubio is a baby-faced cipher who only memorizes talking points that were scripted for him.

And he has done absolutely nothing of note in his current “job” … well, nothing but skipping votes to campaign for an office he is nowhere qualified to hold!

  6. Poor George, he may as well get ready for that to happen again if you watch any more Republican speeches.  I didn't watch because University of Ky had a ball game that seemed more important to me.

I am still not getting good sound on my new pc, so only heard bits and pieces.  I really hope Bernie gets the nomination, but will vote for HIllary if she wins.

Rubio seems to be an automaton, he has no alternative if they go off his script.

  7. The Republican candidates seem more interested in "eating their own" rather than laying out specific plans/policies that they would pursue to help the country.  What a bunch of belligerent, bloviating idiots!

As to Maher, his support of Bernie is spot on, but that Republican Carson supporter, put him in the clown car too when it goes over the cliff.

  8. As I can't watch the debates even if I wanted to, unless video clips (of the Democratic debates) are provided by some Samaritan, all I have is the analysis. And to be honest, as the debates get more predictable and boring, i.e the same old hatred and bigotry, even the analysis are getting to be a bit drab. So thank you for a little cheer from another Maher video. It had been quite obvious that Bill Maher wasn't a big fan of Hillary, but it's the first time (I got to see) Bill openly admired Bernie Sanders. Nice endorsement, Bill!

  9. No great sadness if Rubio gets picked on…

On the other hand, Bill has it right – Bernie has earned the right to  be taken seriously.  Bernie for Prez with Robert Reich, Elizabeth Warren, and Bill Maher in his cabinet…

  10. How could Rubio take a place in an discussion ? He have the lowest attendance record of anyone ,in both houses!,also he is on the armed services committee and does NOt attend the meetings. ( sorry if I sound like a worn out record) but I made the same comments a while ago, hopng that Americans would get INFORMED before thinking that this guy was a condender for anything, except to sit in a sidewalk cafe,in CUBA,drinking good coffee and smoking  a  beautiful Cuban CIGAR! That is about how much he knows of American politics, and national security, on which he claims to be a National Security EXPERT. ! Yikes!   Rubio for Pres! GOD HELP the civilised world.(and all who sail in her!!. Icould go on at length re. the other clowns Be intelligent and listen America. but lets just take them one at a time!

    All the best TC.

  11. Thanks all;.  Hugs.  I'm so tired I fvell asleep in my chait waiting for thje lift bus.
