In defense of my coevals and up, when we were learning to watch television news, there used to be actual journalists who could be trusted. Walter Cronkite. Edward R Murrow. Some of us (SOME of us, thank God not all) got in the habit of trustung TV news. I don't know why those other people are finding it hard to break.

I agree with Joanne. We trusted the news back in the day because we actually had journalists, not corporate employees. When Faux news said it was "Fair and Balanced" those who watch only that part of tv believe it. The internet has been a good thing for most of us, but it is used to promote lies, hatred, sedition, treason, and terrorism. Hopefully the good will eventually out weigh the bad.

But when you've finished laughing and got yourself in up-right position again, with Maher it then also dawns on you again that it is all the sad truth he puts before us; he just says it so much funnier than most.
