Elderly and poor? Here, sheriff!
The FDA is already too cavalier with citizens' health, and now they want to deregulate even more? And the argument is that people with deadly diseases need experimental drugs? Inded – that let's make it easier for pethere is no sense of proportion here.ople who have that need to get into experiments. Let's not kill off the rest of us.
Link to cow story s broken, try this one:

(The one shown goes to previous story)
One just doesn't know when something one says will take root and have a lasting positive (well, we hope positive) effect.
thanks Joanne…I did cross post to Care2 a couple hours ago but it hasn't appeared so I'm going to try again …

Link corrected! Thanks JD
Thanks,JL. All of these sound interesting and I will read them tomorrow when I have more time. I have to be up very early tomorrow morning.
Sleep well and fast my friend then!
The real retirement crisis: The OECD rapport give a summary of about a 100 pages and then nearly 1000 pages of addenda and the crux lies in interpreting all relevant additional data to draw the right conclusions. And the Economic Policy Institute does a far better job on than than Andrew Biggs of the conservative think tank American Enterprise Institute. Surprised? Hardly.
Essure Problems: Some spokesman for biopharmaceutical companies and an advocate for the new 21 Century Cures bill stated: "So if we get away from a pure safety and efficacy standpoint in some vacuum and actually look at it on a case-by-case basis we can help to advance regulatory science to catch up with what really is an amazingly exciting time in medical science." Pure safety and efficacy? With the clinical trials as shoddy as they are now, who needs an even weaker regime. I feel very sorry for the women who have the endure the terrible side effects of the Essure product, but fear for those poor, desperate cancer patients who'll end up as guinea pigs enduring hell in the hope the trial medication will prove a miracle cure for them.
Saudi Arabia fueling sectarianism: I've been following articles and TV programs about Saudi Arabia's grab for power in the region for a while now, both in The Netherlands and in Australia, and all came to the same conclusion: The Saudi's are willfully destabilizing the region to suit their own interests.
Public lands seized in Oregon: I doubt these militiamen give a cow's pad about misinterpreting any law at all. They just want to stir up things and cash in on some long gone cowboy sentiments. They shouldn't be allowed to destroy the environment of the park any further and should be chased off as soon as possible.
Guns1: "Guns lethalize anger, domestic disputes, mental illness and despair." I'm sorry, but to me that is so much of kicking in an already open door, that I can't really comment on it any further than: of course they do, that is why more guns result in more homicides, suicides, accidental deaths and physical and mental trauma.
Guns2: 'Because law-abiding citizens don't break laws, we don't need laws.' Yes, only an NRA-ammosexual could come up with that kind of logic. LMAO
Death penalty: Sounds very hopeful, perhaps a little too hopeful, given the number of states that are Republican and whose governing bodies still proudly carry capital punishment high on their political lists.
Good news email: It's not often you get feedback on helping someone and when you do get it, it can keep you going for years again. Thanks for pointing this artice out to Judy, Joanne. Thanks for posting all these goodies, Judy.
You are very welcome Lona!
Sorry about misspelling your name, again, Judi. Once programmed wrong it's hard to reprogram.
No problem Lona–I understand how it is harder to relearn something.
Amen!
Perhaps we need a law putting women in chazrge of women's contraceptive devices.
