Al Qaeda and the Daesh have increasingly used social media as a recruiting tool, using such platforms as a vehicle to gather recruits, purvey hatred, and incite violence.  In response, Twitter has adopted a new policy inviting users to report hate speech and suspending accounts of users who practice it.  However, other hate mongers have also been snared.

0103GOP-HateThere’s some outrage brewing in the #tcot (top conservative on twitter) world. In mid-December, Twitter announced some rule changes regarding hate speech, as has Google and Facebook, based on the increase in anti-immigrant comments from disgruntled Germans. And the Conservative world is not happy, as many of their accounts are based entirely on being hateful.

Substitute host Molly Line and National Review writer/guest, Katherine Timpf were both donning matching blue dresses with hemlines that might perk up some of the Ailes’ demographic that watches Fox ‘News’ with the sound turned down. Not sure if that was relevant, but it was hard to miss.

Timpf, who works for Bloody Bill Kristol, was delighting in all the hateful comments she receives on Twitter, and brags how she’s ‘threatened all the time.’ Tucker Carlson commiserated the same thing, and claimed he too is threatened and would never imagine silencing those people. They flashed some of the suspended Twitter accounts, that are strangely right-wing…

This isn’t a devious librul plot to silence Republicans, as they claim.  It’s so much simpler than that.  A policy targeting the Daesh naturally snares the Republican Party.  The main difference between the two is the religion misused to spread hatred and violence.

  1. Boo Hoo for them! lol.

Wish these guys would just be 'Gone with a Click', period.

  2. If accounts are being reviewed on objective criteria, and their accounts are getting reviewed in larger numbers than those of some other groups, the obvious deduction would be that what their accounts are saying is objectively offensive.  I would say, "Odd that doesn't occur to them," but it isn't really odd at all.  It's a form of the Dunning-Kruger effect (not to be confused with the other DK, which is one reason I like the term anosognosia, although it's not technically correct.)

    • If anytrhing, I suspect that Twitter is giving Muslims' accounts more serious attention, while only the most extreme Republican accounts are getting zapped.

  3. "…religion misused," indeed; is that not the real name of the conservative movement?

  4. This "turning the argument, truth or the whole world upside down" is completely in line with the way of thinking of conservatives. Criticize them for their Muslim hatred and they turn that into a war on Christianity, don't abide with their religious emblems taking over official buildings and they turn it into a war on Christmas, flag their hate speech in their twitters and conservatives are a targeted. They turn themselves into victims every time they are accused of crossing social boundaries.

  5. This group should all be singing "Poor, poor, pitiful me"  a very old song;  Conservatives always consider themselves victims if they are criticized in any way.

  6. Thanks all!  Hugs!

  7. well here i be a day late as always . it doesn't seem to matter how you try to improve something if there are conservatives involved they will always turn it around to , poor , poor , put apon ,hard done by us,  everyone hates us , no one likes us . the sad part is they don't seem to realize for a change they are giving a true response . awe well poor babies .  take care and keep well TC
