You decide, did he get the best he could from this Congress?  Did we make some progress?

And finally, will federal agencies like DOJ finally get to read the Senate Report?

    • The question of progress arose because many of the health professionals working on the torture issue's view is that AFM permits things which constitute torture and violate international law and thus this amendment only closes the so-called loophole claimed by the past administration to permit torture well beyond what ADM permits.

    • Thanks for the crosspost.

  1. From this Congress?  Yeah, I think he probably did.  Which is why voting for candidates for Congress is so important.  Depressingly, I'm in a district which is seldom able to field a Democratic candidate fo the House.  And when we do, he'a a DINO.  And then he loses anyway.

  2. I think he did too.  The only wat to get a square deal from Congress is to replace Comngress.

  3. Cheers:  Although the bill may not stop ALL torture it is at least a beginning of ending this disgusting practice, which in my opinion, puts an indelible stain on the USA for condoning any form of torture.  It goes against everything I was taught about my country.

Mixed:  When I learned that the NFL was paid to honor veterans I was insulted.  They are all ready tax exempt, which is a slap in the face to poor citizens who pay taxes and don't earn the mega millions the NFL does.  Glad they are stopping this.

Jeers:  We all know he has had to fight this Congress every step of the way.  I am sure he did the best he could.

  4. this has been his entire presidency, some good, some bad….I point most of the bad though on Congress….Repuglicons and "weak" Dems…….

  5. you know they say the preidents office of the U S A is the most powerful in the world, what theyn don't mention is that you must have both the house and senate behind you, cause if you don't then it's no stronger than any other minority government . and sadly he has had to fight tooth and claw for what few things he has accomplished . he has had no help in any way from the republicians and lately even some of his own party have become physido dems . , so how do you do anything or get anything done ? i'm sure poor old Abe is spinning in his grave now wondering where this rasist, bigoted, anti-women , anti immigrant bunch of jerks came from .Bessings from the Godess , T C
