I’ll begin with the “Holiday” because it’ll be mine for a while.

I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome that the neurologist, who did the EMG, said is rated as “Severe” by the test.  So I saw the hand surgeon today and will be having surgery in the next 1-3 weeks.

Both the surgeon and neurologist said it’d be best to minimize my keyboard excursions – so I’m going to try to be a good patient and comply.

That explains the very brief “Friday Fun” post which you’ll have to do most of the leg finger-work to read about and my probably absense.

But we can all say a hearty “ThankYou!” to Johari Osayi Idusuyi for providing some comic relief to a master comic himself, Donald Trump.

Idusuyi has made an effort to learn about the candidates, so when Trump came to down …

“I’m genuinely not interested in him as a person, but if you have the chance to see a presidential candidate, why not?” Idusuyi said.

AND she got a primo seat …

“I think we were chosen for obvious reasons.  We are minorities and there weren’t a lot of minorities there. He also instructed us to sit in the middle, so we kind of already knew what this was.”

Idusuyi insisted she went into the rally with an open mind, but she took out her book and began reading after Trump demanded the removal of some protesters, and she said supporters cheered after a supporter removed a woman’s Obama hat and tossed it into the crowd.

So rather than waste anymore of the time, she took out an award-winning book, “Citizen: An American Lyric”, and began reading …

And boy, that did NOT go over well with some bigots hate-mongers knuckle-draggers Trump supporters!

Thanks, Johari, for upstaging a master narcissistic comic with some great comic relief of your own!

    • Johari's open mind, which is enviable, was definitely out of its element in that closed minded company.

Isn't there some fast-acting karma here for The Donald?

  1. How awesome!

Kudos to Ms. Johari Osayi Idusuyi !!!

Thank you, Nameless for this, good luck with your surgery.

Thank you, Joanne for posting great post.

  2. She was interviewed on Rachel last night.  A beautiful and intelligent woman. Good luck with your surgery.

  3. I was talking with a group of men earlier today, and one of them asked the not quite rhetorical question "How could anybody vote for Trump?"  My answer, not spoken, as I am the moderator, if you will, of the group, is "One would have to be crazy to do so!"

So Hairball packs his talkwith token blacks, who are put in the middle of what will be the TV picture, for the world to see: Wow, what a marvelous, compasionate, DICK!

  4. One person can indeed make a difference, especially when presented with such an opportunity.

Thanks Nameless and I hope surgery succeeds with minimal residuals in pain, discomfort, etc.

  5. U[on reflection, and in response to the question why did she go, she was open minded enough to consider that she might be wrong about something, had the initiative to take steps to find out, smart enough to realize she had been right to begin with, and creative enough to respond without disruption. (Yes , disruption ensued, but not from her.) I am very proud of her – not with a proprietary pride, I'm not entitled to that, but proud to be a member of the same race, the human race.

Also upon reflection – we are sort of reaching the age when you could shake two or three of us up in a bag, remove just parts that work, and not have enough to build a whole person.  I do hope you end up with functioning arms, wrists, and hands, two each, and pain free.

  6. Good luck with your surgery, we will miss you greatly.

Bravo to her.  She went with an open mind, got treated like a token, and then showed what she thought very quietly.  She could have acted angrily and made a scene which would not have had nearly as postive effect as her actions did.  Thanks Nameless, for posting this one.

  7. First of all: good luck with your surgery, Nameless. I hope it'll reduce the symptoms and take away the pain so that you'll be as good as new after a few weeks of physiotherapy. By the way, there are good programs for Windows which allow you to talk to your computer. My husband has been using them for years to stave off CTS and he's very happy with them. They should work for hearing disabled that speak too, all programs are trained to "listen" to the way you pronounce words .

Excellent choice for this Friday's Fun: I like the way Johari Osayi Idusuyi's mind worked. She was open to a new experience, but as soon as she noticed minorities were used and were turned in the "token representative of a minority" again, she protested in a very intelligent way. Kudos to her, also for taking no notice of the Trump fan behind her.

  8. The guy beside the "book lady" really does have his knickers in a twist!  Love the "book lady"!

    • I hope the surgery goes well.  I've known a number of people who've had the carpel surgery and once healed, they were glad they'd done it.  And remember, once it is done, take two kittens and call me in the morning.
