I feel exhausted. My COPD is flaring up severely. Every time I try to sleep, coughing prevents it. Today I have an all MSNBC Short Takes section for you., and a second article. Tomorrow is a grocery delivery day.

Short Takes:
From MSNBC: GOP candidates resist gay marriage
Republican presidential hopefuls vow to continue the fight against marriage equality despite the Supreme Court’s ruling. Ed Schultz, Rep. Mark Pocan, Mike Rogers and Tobias Wolff talk it out.
Hypocrites all! Mike Rogers had it right: "It looks like sheer InsaniTEA." Retention elections for SCROTUS, Republican Constitutional VD, is a terrible idea. I would support however term limits for both Democratic Justices and Republican Injustices.
From MSNBC: Who is burning black churches?
The FBI and ATF are now helping investigate a string of fires at black churches in the South since the massacre in Charleston, at least three of which are being investigated as arson, prompting #WhoIsBurningBlackChurches to trend nationally on Twitter.
Chris didn’t quite come out and say what he is thinking. I did. See my cartoon below.
From MSNBC: Top tier GOP candidate Trump dealt blow to business for Mexico remarks
Rachel Maddow reviews the latest developments in the crowded Republican 2016 primary field, including Donald Trump polling in second place nationally but suffering for his remarks about Mexican immigrants, with NBC now severing ties with him.
Kudos to NBC. Nobody has ever deserves to get fired more than Hairball does. But I want him on that debate stage to give the clown car a flat tire. I hope PIGnocchio is indicted before the debates begin, Morfan has him perfectly pegged.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
5:05 average still 4:55. Grass being something kitties eat as a medication, maybe we should all stand back today.
DKos did an interesting and not too long legal and practival analysis of the Arizona residtricting case this morning

MSNBC I – It would have been nice NOT to have a fracking ad before Ed. The video broke my browser so I couldn't finish it. But yes, any kind of elections for judges is a bad idea. They should, however, be sublect to impeachment.
MSNBC II – It would have been nice NOT to have a fracking ad before Chris. This video had "strobe sound" – but I agree with you. It's also true, though, that hate crimes are difficult to prove. Domestic terrorism charges might be more appropriate – once they identify the perps – if they can.
MSNBC III – It would have been nice NOT to have a fracking ad before Rachel. Now, NBC DID surprise me, even while it delighted me. I had no idea NBC had so much sense. (Chris Christie broke my browser thoug. Probably a blessing LOL.)
Cartoon – Yeah, electrical problems. Right. The KKK is shocked – electrically SHOCKED – that POC are allowed to exist, let alone worship (let alone be better Christians than they are.)
I Disagree. POC are noy better Christians. Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians are not Christians. They misuse Christianity, the way ISIL misuses Islam,.
4:39 I kept getting tangled up in the canal grass.
4:26 I'm right there with you.
2:51 I was lazing in the cool water with gentle breezes. So fine! It was 33C yesterday and 30 C today. The humidity is 54%. We were supposed to have thunderstorms last week but nada! So swimming in the canal will have to do. I hope there are no muskrats in the canal!
I was going to share the grass with you guys, but the Sasquatch smoked it.
I don't smoke! But I did weave some baskets and had a nice salad!
MSNBC 1 ~ They don't need the Constitution! They'll write a new one. They all must have thrown out the copy they all swore to uphold when elected.
MSNBC 2 ~ They are trying to determine if they are hate crimes and if they are related. What nonsense! Just find the arsonists! If the investigators ore fellow KKK members, they won't look very hard. Prosecute them. They are domestic terrorists. People are not safe in Church just like before Segragation was "abolished".
MSNBC 3 ~ I'm waiting to see how long it will take him to file Bankruptcy again.
Cartoon ~ Yup! What happened to # two guy's hood? Did it catch on fire?
He's noy wearing it, because he's rumming for office and wants Republican votes.
We all celebrated SCOTUS upholding the right for gays to marry, but I've been reading about all these civil clerks who are refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay citizens. I have a few thoughts about that:
Since the Supreme Court has ruled it’s the law of the land, it is now the clerks’ job to issue the license.
If they can’t do their job and issue the license, they should quit.
If they refuse to quit, they should be fired
… Preferably out of a cannon
But that's just me
How about an ICBM?

Top tier GOP candidate Trump dealt blow to business for Mexico remarks

Glad that NBC "fired" Trump and ADIOS him!. lol.
You should hear and see Tom Moran's scathing newspaper report on Chris Christie. Christie begins at 11:45 into the above Maddow video link.
If you are having trouble viewing MSNBC, via MSNBC's web site, news commentators, your best bet is to have just 1 browser window open and use your best browser to view the program. IMO, MSNBC's web site sucks big time ever since it changed to the new format.
I tried to locate Maddow's commentary on Hulu but it has not been put into the lineup. I get the distinct impression that Hulu and the Koch Bros. do not like her very much. lol.
Cartoon: Hate rears its ugly head once again. It is alive and well in the USA especially in the southern states where the confederate flag continues to be revered and flown, displayed.
I'm glad the current FBI and ATF are investigating instead of local law enforcement (J Edgar wouldn't in the 1960's).
Firing Trump also means not airing his objectivizing women pageants–can we dare hope no one else picks them up?
Do these GOP figure balance of powers means they can ignore the POTUS and SCOTUS powers and related settled law whenever they didn't get their hearts desire? Do they understand that would be grounds for impeachment should they get elected?
Hope lesser heat helps your lungs recover.
The carftoon may have been the local law enforcement investigating.
Edie, when I saw these 2 videos, I thought of you right away. http://lovemeow.com/2015/06/oreo-dancing-cat/
I hope everyone will enjoy these videos starring Oreo!
Thanks, Lynn, loved them. My husband wears those nose strips when he sleeps. It is a ritual now, as soon as he sits up in the morning, Oreo is there waiting, and hubby gives him the strip. He dances all over the house with them, I find them EVERYWHERE! He named Oreo, not me, so I guess it is only fair that they play together.
Both are cute, but that first one is hilarious! (Well, for us cat lovers, at least)
I loved #2, but the singing I posted the other day was more artistic.
MSNBC, the Ed Show: Tobias Wolff has it right, Cruz deliberately misleads people, and out right lies to pander to his base. I agree that the Supreme Court should have term limits, but not an election, under our current laws. The Supreme Court has ruled, they need to get over it. Here in Ky, we have had three county court clerks declare they will not issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. Our governor told the, nobody can tell you what to believe religiously, but the law says your office HAS to issue these licences Bottom line, you chose to be a county court clerk to serve the people and that means ALL the people, you cannot pick and choose. No one's religious liberty has been threatened by this decision, no pastor is going to be forced to marry a same sex couple if his church forbids it. Traditional marriage went out the window years ago, I know more people who are married to a second or third mate than those still married to the first one.
MSNBC: All IN: I think we all know there is not much chance that all these churches burning was a coincidence. Hopefully, the federal investigators will find those who did it.
Rachel Maddow: I am glad NBC fired Trump, he is indeed a clown, but a very rich one, who has been accustomed to getting his way with every one, due to his immense fortune. Surely, very few people will vote for him in the primaries. Unless Christie is actually indicted, I fear many will vote for him. I heard his speech on MSNBC today and he was very effective to those who know nothing about him.
Cartoon: I agree, TC, this is one of your best cartoons.
I hope you feel better soon.
Puzzle — 2:51 I was lazing in the cool water with gentle breezes. So fine! It was 33C yesterday and 30 C today. The humidity is 54%. We were supposed to have thunderstorms last week but nada! So swimming in the canal will have to do. I hope there are no muskrats in the canal!
MSNBC — I wonder what importance the Republicanus/Teabaggerum place on the Declaration of Independence? It was the document that signalled the break with Britain.
In 2015, the Republican/Teabaggerum certainly don't appear to hold it in high regard and prefer to ignore it.
MSNBC — Right from the beginning, I have been thinking the Klan did it! It is their style as seen decades ago during the civil rights era. These are good Christians, right? NOT!!!!! At best, these are pseudo Christians.
MSNBC — Trump was dumped! The primary voters would be well served to dump Trump!
Cartoon — 'lectrical problems eh? Hmmmm . . .
Just a quick note. I finally figured out why I haven't been feeling up to par. I've got the Mumps, at 65 years of age. Fun!
Not mumps after all. I got Lyme disease. I start on Doxycyclin in about a half hour when my neighbor picks it up for me. God bless her!
Geez!! I'm so sorry!! How long do they think you've been infected? I hope the antibiotov knocks it out quickly!
Amen to that! Lyme Disease is nothing to mess with. I hope hubby and puddies are not infected too. Get well soon!
I got bit about 2 weeks ago, removed the tick with no problem. I kept monitoring the site for the rash which is the tell-tale sign. I showed up Tuesday night. Doc said if I don't get relief from the symptoms by tomorrow to call him. The pain has lesssened a very little bit but now I'm nauseous
One partial fi x for the SCOTUS problem is addressed by proposed legislation–SCOTUS Ethics Act
http://act.credoaction.com/sign/SCOTUS_Ethics_Act?t=2&akid=14849.1923331.9Ywdyv
I'm all for it.
There is a "Code of Conduct for United States Judges" to which all lower court judges MUST abide. But the problem is it's non-binding on the Supreme Court Justices.
Standford University has a thoughtful review of the issue; and makes a strong case for implementing one, especially given the "variances" (I'm being charitable) from the non-binding code currently in place that have involved Scalia, Thomas and Alito. (Was there any doubt?)
http://journals.law.stanford.edu/stanford-law-policy-review/online/supreme-unaccountability-nine-federal-judges-whom-no-code-ethics-applies
I also support it.
Thanks JL. Signed
North of the 49th, our Supreme Court is relatively good, but our Prime Minister spars with the Chief Justice very publicly. A binding code of conduct would be very useful for Herr Harper!
Signed it.
I had hoped with you that you'd catch up on some sleep now the cleaning of your building has finished, TomCat, but high temperatures seem to prevent that. I'm so sorry to hear that. Too warm and humid weather drains of the energy of people in good health, so it must be almost debilitating if you have COPD. Please see your doctor if things get too bad, TomCat, before you end up on the emergency ward.
MSNBC 1: Of course the guests on the Ed Show were absolutely right, GOP hopefuls like Huckabee and Cruz either blabber completely insane rhetoric or are knowingly dishonest and deceitful in their scramble for attention. But they are allowed to do so because they take their cue from Scalia who is equally dishonest inn his dessent of this case. His attack on the ruling is perfectly debunked by Daily Kos too, have a look.
MSNBC 2: I can understan that Chris is very cautious in his report and conclusions; he doesn't want to be the one that is responsible for bringing the unforeseen unity, that the Charleston massacre has resulted in, to and end and revive the racial war that Roof had originally intended. But the message was clear, there's little chance all these church fires, breaking out so closely together in place and time, are all due to faulty wiring. The ATF and FBI are not known for investigating electrical malfunctions, but of crimes across states. Whether they will actually find the arsonists, and more importantly the organizations behind the individual arsonists, is another matter.
MSNBC 3: For the life of me I can't understand how Donald Trump got to second place in the polls. Are Americans really so enamored with bragging egocentrics who's only well developed muscle is their gob with which they keep telling their listeners how successful they are in business, how rich they are because of it and how influential they are in business, every one of these traits a disqualifier for the presidency. But luckily some do see through all the bragging and see the racist, hateful man behind the hairdo and have the guts to fire him for it. Kudos NBC.
Cartoon: Excellent!
Thanks all. Hugs!
