Here are the results of our “Bernie or Hillary” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking or will of the national majority. This time, I think not.

Our Polling Host no longer allows us to copy and paste your comments made when taking the poll.  To read them, click here.

I voted for Bernie, like most of the rest of you.  Sadly we do not reflect the bulk of America on this issue.  I endorsed him, sent him money and will vote for him. if he’s still on the ballot, which is doubtful, because the nominee is always a done deal, before the Oregon primary.  Unfortunately. mist American voters lack the political sophistication to understand Captain Kangaroo, let alone Bernie.

The new poll is up.  Please vote.

  1. Not that Elizabeth wouldn't do a good job, but WE NEED HER IN THE SENATE.  Even more so should Bernie become President.  We just can't afford to spend good Senators like money.  They are too scarce.

    • And I forgot to quote a comment from elsewhere which I thought profound – something like, in deciding who to vote for, I am more interested in what is between their ears than in what is between their legs.

  2. Bernie is gaining momentum on FB. It is still very early.

  3. I didn't vote because I wasn't sure what "prefer" was intended to mean.

I personally would prefer Bernie – but I realize he has virtually NO chance of winning a national election.  And since I much prefer that we have a Democrat in the Oval Office, I would prefer Hillary.

So I did my Switzerland imitation, and abstained.

    • This is the problem — the question is not a straightforward one.  If I had the ability to choose the President myself with no concern about a general election, I'd probably choose Sanders or Warren.  But in fact I'd vote for Hillary in the primary and hope she's the nominee, because nominating Sanders or Warren would mean too much risk that a Republican would win the general – and a Republican President is a risk we absolutely cannot take.  Like Obama, Hillary isn't the prefect liberal candidate but will do a good job.

    • You both raise an excellent point.  However, if Bernie could get the  nomination, it would mean he has a lot more support than he cvurrently does.  In that case, he actially might be a viable candidate in the general election.

  4. I like Hillary, I think she's paid her dues & we NEED a woman President..but I Love Bernie Sanders & his Liberal Agenda! So it was hard to say, but choices given made me choose both equally. I hope Bernie & Elizabeth Warren push Hillary to the left & force her to see where Hope Really Lives! – See more at: http://poll.pollcode.com/86897481_result?v#sthash.9sDPEb8n.dpuf

and to the teabagger trolling the poll I replied.."Like I Said, Hillary has paid her dues. She has more of a "track record" than ANY Bu$h-Wannabe or TeaBagger retards. I say we NEED a woman because so few "men" are capable of wiping themselves after playing war & polluting the planet. – See more at: http://poll.pollcode.com/86897481_result?v#sthash.QfJJeV1y.dpuf

    • I agree with you, Yvonne, and goood for you that you slammed the troll.

    • Well done Yvonne – do you think that the 'Teabagger' realises what his/her name means?  Oh dear!  Your reply was brilliant!

    • Excellent comeback to the "teabagger" troll. lol.

    • The only thing I would have changed is the implication that bagger and or their candiodate is a retard.  Insulting someone directly closes their eyes to everything else you say, and it's also demeaniong to mentally handicapped people.

Male cats like me don't need to wipe, but we are quite sanitary.

  5. I think you are right, TC, Hillary will get the nomination, but I really, really wish that Bernie would.

  6. "Unfortunately. mist American voters lack the political sophistication to understand Captain Kangaroo, let alone Bernie."

It is a shame that people can't understand Bernie because in a nut shell, Bernie is all about the average American and their welfare!  As I said previously, if the US doesn't want Bernie, Canada will take him!

    • Re your first comment Lynn – ROFLMAO!!!  So very true, and it applies to the Right over here too.

Do you know that in the UK the Tories have won Parliament with slightly under 37% of the votes cast – and that 40% of the electorate didn't vote (probably most couldn't be bothered, some were prevented by vile working conditions) – so the Tories govern with a heroic 24% of the voting population behind them – dear Heaven that makes me ill!

  7. Profuse apologies TC – you said this "Unfortunately. mist American voters lack the political sophistication to understand Captain Kangaroo, let alone Bernie." – and I am still ROFLMAO, as it applies here too!

Oh – and I heard yesterday that one Tory MP was crowing with delight as someone had hated him so much that they drew something obscene on the ballot paper in the box they put aside for us to mark with a cross (or not) for the one we want to vote for …. anyway the Returning Officer (who people wonder might be a Tory) said that the drawing was neat and within the lines and so was counted as a vote for that Tory!  WTF!!  We are always told that we must mark the box for our preferred candidate with a cross, not a tick/check, as if there is not a cross it will not be counted.  Cheats!

  8. I have never given a dime to any politician. I suppose that's not right given our elections are about who has the most money, but I don't believe in that. Bernie might not win, but he will frame the debate. I will vote for Bernie, if he is on my ballot. I believe Mrs. Clinton was considered a shoe in, in 2006-2007, but then someone came along that changed that. No one is a "given" to be president and Mrs. Clinton is not the only deserving candidate. Voting for Mrs. Clinton just because she is a woman, is one reason to vote for her, but not a very good reason.

  9. Bernie can articulate what party positions should be to focus attention on what needs doing.

  10. I think JL summed it up perfectly.

  11. Man. The comments here are spot on! I am flabbergasted the comments left by the bagger! A really poor example of the voters from “the other side”. He really doesn’t know what his name means, for sure! LOL! And the last lines of the story has me in stitches!
