Here are the results of our “Netanyahu Rejection” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking or will of the national majority.

“Do Not Attend” was the clear winner.  I voted “walk out”, because Republicans will spin Democrats who do not attend as not caring about Israel and/or National Security enough to show up.  Walking out clearly delineates the move as a protest.

The mree poll is up and ready you you to vote.

  1. TC, you have often spoken about an inmate who has made a new life for himself in prison by helping others.  A woman in Georgia who fits the same description will be executed tomorrow.  I was going to say unless we can get it stopped, but I really doubt if, in Georgia, we can.  But if anyone wants to go on record about it, here is the link:

    • Thanks JD.  Signed.  When I went in, signatories numbered 27,000 +.  There are now 29,726 and mounting quickly.  The petition will easily exceed 30,000.  I strongly believe that the death penalty should be abolished.

    • I signed the petition, but like you, doubt that it will change anything.

    • Signed – over 36,000 – I hope it might help.

    • Joanne, five of my guys helping others are serving life without possibility.  One of thosew was on death row, but his sentence was commuted.  I am aware of this case, have signed a petition some time ago, and have written Deal an email talking about how valuable these men are.  I have received no response from his office.  Most sadly, I'm not optimistic, because for the Party of Death, the right to life ends at birth.

      • I thought it was more than one but couldn't remember how many.  I am afraid I must agree with your lack of optimism – well, I suppose it's over now.  It is heartening to see how many signed on how fast, though.  I apologize that it didn't really fit with the old poll, but my excuse is that is fit with the new one and time was short.

  2. I wish the poll reflected what Congress will actually do.

  3. Thanks for the link, Joanne D.! Signed and shared!
Looks like the Dems shouldn’t be attending by a wide margin! I have to agree. Attending sets a terrible precedent. Boner should be censured for this gaffe! Its not just this once, either. He has screwed up many times as speaker!

  4. I voted do not attend.  Boehner needs to get his comeuppance, he had no right to invite Netanyahu here and only did it as a slap in the face for the President.

  5. "DO NOT ATTEND. I did initially waver between 'do not attend' and 'walk out' but decided on the former because the Republicanus/Teabaggerum would call 'showing up and then walking out' as bipartisan participation which it most certainly would not be. I think not showing up at all makes a bigger statement. And if Boehner wants to say the Democrats are being rude, they might want to mention that he broke protocol. The little man and his Jameson who would be king! "

I can certainly see your reasoning TC, and as I said, I did waver between not show up and show up and then leave.

  6. Signed Joanne's petition . Left a comment on new poll too lengthy to write again but did vote NEVER.

  7. TY TC.

  8. I voted "Attend but walk out…". I don't think they should walk out en masse because that would seem orchestrated. They should stagger their exits. The Repukes have plans to fill empty seats with their staffers so if Dem don't attend the chamber would still be full. No statement there.

  9. Thanks all.  I certainly support all Dems who either do not attend or walk out.
